Vacay Layout with Chasing Adventures

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. I am so excited to be sharing my first post with the fabulous Chasing Adventures collection by Jen Hadfield. This is such a fun collection! Perfect for capturing your adventures whatever they may be. The tropical elements in the collection were calling to me to scrap a photo from our Hawaiian vacation a few years ago.

This layout design was inspired by the washi tape in this collection. I added strips of washi tape all along one edge of a 8.5″x11″ piece of white cardstock.

I mounted my white piece of cardstock with the washi tape onto some pretty blue pattern paper that coordinated so well with my photo. A sun tucked behind my photo helps it to stand out against the busy patterns of the washi tape. The Vacay phrase sticker and palm tree from the Adventure Thickers made for the perfect title. I couldn’t resist adding those cute sunglasses from the puffy sticker pack too.

Hawaii has beautiful tropical flowers, just like these gorgeous floral die cuts I arranged opposite my title along with some wood veneer and the ‘Let’s Get Lost’ sign. I included a tag, tucked under the top of my photo, so that I could add journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’ll try creating a layout with a washi tape background too.

~Marcia

Hi Pebbles Fans!  Holly here from Ribbons & Glue sharing a Fall Leaves Card made with the Harvest Collection.

Fall Leaves Card made with @pebblesinc Harvest wood veneer leaves by @ribbonsandglue

It’s not quite Christmas yet so there’s still plenty of time to enjoy Fall crafts and cards.    These wood veneer  leaves are such a pretty and natural element to create with too.

Stamped Wood Veneer Leaves from @pebblesinc Harvest collection created by @ribbonsandglue

To add details on to the wood leaves, I inked the edges with brown ink and stamped a sentiment.

I adhered the  leaves on to the front of the card and added some foam dots behind a few of the leaves as well as twine and enamel dots to provide dimension.

Simple, natural elements like these wood leaves on this Fall Leaves Card really do add beautiful touches on to cards.

Dye Wood Veneer Shapes

Hello everyone! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I want to show you how you can dye your wood veneer shapes to use on your next projects.

I love wood shapes because they add a homey feel to my layouts and mini albums. The original color is great but why not change and customize it with your tools?

For this quick tutorial I am using 3 different supplies: watercolors, mists, and pigment ink.

To dye with watercolors, put a big drop of water on your color and then paint your wood veneer. The brush must be really wet otherwise your paint will leave a saturated spot on your wood veneer.

To dye with your mist, just put one or two drops directly on your shape and quickly spread it with a brush.

To use your inks, just rub the brush directly over your shape.

And here are the different results!

I used these shapes to make a layout. Here in Chile we celebrate our national holiday the 18th of September. It is a big celebration, and as a family we always make a traditional latin dish called “empanadas.” I used to make them with my dad, who passed away a few years ago. Every time I make these I remember him.

I put my wood veneers in a little cluster with the “thinking of you” tag.

I also used some of the dimensional stickers that you find in this collection.

For my title I used the Thickers from the Cottage Living collection.

And behind the photo, I included a recipe card with the recipe hoping that someday my son will continue this tradition.

Have a great day everyone!
