Fun in the Sun with Wendy

I am so thrilled to be with you today to share some of what I have created with the amazing Fun in the Sun collection.  Hi, my name is Wendy, and I love to document our everyday with pretty papers!  For me, as a mom of 6 (and yes we homeschool), I want to document everything, but I have to be quick about my creating.

Summer Frame

Summer Frame-5
My first project came together as soon as I poured out the die-cut pieces, they just begged to be grouped together and displayed with some fun summer pictures!

Summer Frame-1
I worked on my center frame first as that was my “title” piece for the frame.  I did add/rearrange a few pieces, but mainly I stayed with my original design and I added in a little sand for a fun summer look.

Summer Frame-2
I love how the puffy stickers work so well with the die-cuts as the splashes were the same size.

Summer Frame-6
And one last frame featuring beach time.

Summer Frame-7
Summer Frame
I have found that the 3×4 cards that are made for Project Life style scrapping fit my style perfectly, they give me a quick title or saying and they are a lot of fun to layer.

Photo Bomb

Photo Bomb
I began by gathering my favorite 3×4 cards, a cute photo, die-cuts to match, and paper.  As you can see, I almost always go with my first impression and tweak that design.

Photo Bomb-1
Once my basic page is established (or my photo block as I usually refer to) I begin adding in areas of interest, usually with fun clusters. I also like to dress up my 3×4 cards to add interest.

Photo Bomb-2Photo Bomb-3

Photo Bomb-4
My last layout was created from my leftovers.  Once I begin cutting into my patterned paper I like to cut the leftovers into 3×4 and 4×6 pieces to allow me to create quickly with lots of layers like I enjoy.

Summer Chill Out

Summer Chill Out
I started layering a few fun papers with the colors I wanted to bring into my page to match my photos creating my photo block.  Then came the embellishing of the page, to add interest, and to further establish my theme.

Summer Chill Out-1
And some title work…  You can see in these details that I added some vellum, cut files, and sewing all in white for texture/interest, without taking from my page.

Summer Chill Out-2
Thanks so much for a chance to share with you today, I hope you’ve enjoyed and will take some time to document your everyday!

Cottage Living with Wendy

I am so thrilled to be with you today to share some of what I have created with the amazing Cottage Living collection.  Hi, my name is Wendy (http://antenucci.blogspot.com), and I love to document our everyday with pretty papers!  For me, as a mom of 6 (and yes we homeschool), I want to document everything, but I have to be quick about my creating.

Be Together Frame
Be Together frame
I loved the chalkboard included in this collection and instantly gathered my favorite gold washi tape from the Home+Made collection, clips, and a fun picture.
Be Together frame-1
I began by placing my washi tape as a border on the chalkboard.
Be Together frame-2
I then created a embellishment cluster with a doily (my favorite) as the base.
Be Together frame-5
As a final touch, I added in a title to my frame to remind us that Family is meant to be together!
Be Together frame-4
Now is the Time
Now is the Time
My next layout was inspired by the Gallery Wall paper.  I realized the colors were perfect for documenting my daughter’s first pointe recital.  I used the lovely gold washi tape again and the Love Notes paper as I had in my mind a French feel.  The stamp set, fit so perfectly inside of the frames adding just the right sentiment to the page.  The gold garland provided a touch of celebration which I tied together with clusters of flowers fussy cut, one of my favorite stress relieving activities.
Now is the Time-2
Just Be You
Just Be You
This layout, was a deviation from the last pieces, in I just wanted to create something fun with all of my leftovers.  You can see my photo block and I loved the papers I chose to go together, but the layout was lacking in interest.  So I mixed and matched!  The Fun in the Sun collection had a great saying that added some color and the glasses were perfect with the sun rays from my picture.
Just Be You-3
A few leftover black stars carried the striking contrast through my page, but I still wanted more to tie everything together…  So I cut some sun rays from vellum and stitched them to my layout.  Again, a subtle touch, but it further enhanced my page and it added to my theme of the sunshine.
Thank you for allowing me to share with you today. Have a blessed day!
Wendy

Fall in Florida

Hi everyone, Wendy here today. I was thrilled to have the chance to work with the new Home+Made collection, but the topic was Sweater Weather!

SweaterWeather-01See we live in Florida, and there is no such thing as sweaters here, lol. So while I don’t have the traditional pictures some might have, instead I created some Home Decor projects to bring the fall feel into our lives even though the weather doesn’t cooperate.

The first project I created was my letter A.

I bought a paper mache letter from my local craft store and covered it with the burlap paper.  I was amazed how well the burlap paper cut and adhered to my letter with the mod podge.  A few fussy cut flowers and a tag were the perfect finishing pieces to my project.

My next project was my tree.  As easy as it looks this was not the original intent!  I started by spraying my jar with gold spray paint (and now I am addicted to spraying everything). I then gathered sticks of various lengths.  I originally had cut leaves to put on my trees, but they didn’t give me the look I wanted.  The tags though were perfect to hang from the branches.  I did hot glue the string to the branches so that they wouldn’t go everywhere and would stay where I wanted them.

My final project was my wreath and this came together because I had those pretty leaves cut and I wanted to use them for something.

I wrapped my wreath in strips of torn material.  I used the bags from the collection to make my flowers. (Rolling flowers is much easier if you lightly spray your paper first with water or even mists.)

The gold foil paper is thicker but worked well in my dies to cut the fringy flowers. I used my leaves to fill in the areas around my flowers (both made and fussy cut). A 3×4 card tucked behind the flowers gave the perfect pop of color and theme to my wreath.

My sentiment at the top with another flower was the finishing touch.

Continuing on with our Design Team’s project of choice week, we have four layouts and a home decor piece by Wendy Antenucci using the Americana collection with add-ons from other collections. She utilizes journaling cards, twine and great embellishments to make these pieces really stand out.
PB_Americana
Have you ever worked with a collection that completely takes you by surprise?  Wendy here today to show you how versatile the Americana collection is!  I have created four layouts now out of this collection plus a home decor piece.  Today I am going to show you a page I created by mixing and matching collections.

Layouts and home décor made by @antenucci using the #Americana line. #PebblesInc #redwhiteandblue

I started with the journaling card, Love you More from an older collection and then I pulled blues from the Americana collection that complemented my picture.  I needed a few more boyish pieces so I went to my stash of Special Delivery next for my title.

I created an embellishment cluster which included color pops and the love stamp plus some loose twine to give some visual wow to my page.

I loved my page, but could I use the collection for what it was intended for?  That was my next challenge, join me on my blog http://antenucci.blogspot.com/2014/07/go-vote-be-free-pebbles-and-kerri.html  to see if I accomplished this feat!

Using Rub-ons in Layouts and Cards

You’re going to love the how Wendy Antenucci has been playing with all of the Pebbles rub-ons. Learn how she’s using rub-ons in layouts and cards!

Rub Ons

I have a tendency to hold onto my supplies because I never know when I might need them.  But when I saw the assignment for rub-ons I pulled out what was left of my favorite rub-on sheets and I went to town experimenting!
Rub-on experiment
I first began by applying my white rub-ons to white cardstock and then I tried various medias to bring out the designs.  I used ink pads as shown in the first picture and while it worked, it wasn’t a crisp image like I had hoped.  My next try was with watercolors; this method made my rub-ons pop and it was much easier to blend my colors.  My final try (with gold rub-ons because my white ones were all gone) was with mist; it wiped off the rub-ons like the watercolors, but I didn’t feel comfortable blending my colors.

Here is one of the cards I created from my experiment, you can find the other finished card and another layout using mist/rub-ons on my blog.
I was having such a good time creating with the rub-ons in the new Birthday Wishes line that I created this layout next and had to share it.
Birthday layout created by @antenucci using @PebblesInc rub-ons #scrapbooking #birthday
I had this great idea to cut out pieces of the paper to nestle my pictures from my 8year olds birthday.  It allowed my not so great pictures to shine on the dark paper by cropping them and not needing to have them in larger sizes.  I used the best picture of this set in the largest block to call attention to it.

I love the pops of color from the Thickers and some of the stickers, the dark background made the colors so fun, perfect for our boy.

I really wanted to show the age of our boy using the candles and they fit perfectly in the bottom square, by using the tag as an “envelope” I was able to house my candles and fill up another square in my layout.

I use the gold seal and some of the happy gold rub-ons to add some wow factor to my layout.
Make sure you to stop by my blog and see a step-by-step tutorial for the birthday page I created, see you there.
