Adventure More

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. This week on the Pebbles blog it’s all about the guys! I picked out some masculine pattern papers from the newest Jen Hadfield collection Hey Hello; blues, greens, blacks, and a bit of yellow. I knew embellishing would be difficult so I decided I needed a strong design. My go to shapes for guys are stars and triangles. It’s been a while since I did a triangle layout so I decided to give it a go. Here is what I came up with …

I even cropped my photo into a triangle! If you look closely, you can see I added a few machine stitched triangles too.

The watercolor background sets off my photo and the pattern papers beautifully. I pulled out the Sun & Fun collection embellishments because I wanted to stick to an outdoor theme. I found these awesome trees and a frog which was just perfect!

I used the Lake Thickers that coordinate with the Sun & Fun collection for my title ‘Adventure More‘. Not wanting to do much more embellishing, I thought I would just stamp a few butterflies from the Sun & Fun collection onto my background. Note to self… stamping before adding the title would have made things easier.

I added a strip of pattern paper at the bottom of my layout, repeating the triangle pattern in this pattern paper. At the top of the layout, I added a few triangles I had leftover and then a few tags from the Chasing Adventure collection.

I love how this turned out! Why don’t you join us and create a masculine layout too.

Chasing Adventures Travel Journal

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. Is anyone planning a Spring Break vacation in April? Take a look at my Chasing Adventures travel journal. It is perfect to take along on your trip to record your memories and store mementos, maps, postcards, photos and more.

The journal is crafted from a kraft cardstock and then decorated with the fun Chasing Adventures pattern papers. I glued two pieces of kraft cardstock together to make the folio stronger. To give it a vintage feel, I burnished the edges with some distress ink. An elastic band secures the binder shut. Let me show you the inside …

The front cover has a side pocket to tuck stickers and die cuts that can be used to decorate journal pages while traveling.

There are 3 pages inside. Each side of a page has a gusseted pocket to hold travel momentos, maps, postcards, and more.

Here are the other inside pages…

In the back of the journal I have added a notepad, covered with pretty pattern paper. Here you can journal about your daily adventures and add photos.

If you have an upcoming vacation, you might want to make a travel journal for yourself. Be sure to check out the Chasing Adventures collection to help you document your trip. I love that it has pattern papers and die cuts for whatever kind of adventure you desire from city vacations to mountain hiking to tropical relaxation.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

It’s Not The Destination – Chasing Adventures

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. I am so excited to be sharing a layout I created with the awesome Chasing Adventures collection by Jen Hadfield. This is such a fun collection! Perfect for capturing your adventures whatever they may be. I wanted to create a title page in my European vacation album that included some photos from all the destinations we visited on our recent vacation to Europe; London, Paris, Munich, and Berlin. Here is what I came up with…

I found this digital cut file in the HQ digital art Etsy store and was instantly drawn to it. I imaginied a layout with rays of photos and pattern papers emanating from the center. The quote in the middle works well for my title. I embellished around the title with one of the cute travel girl die cut ephemera pieces and puffy stickers.

To make the title pop more against all the pattern papers, I used a little bit of gesso underneath it and extended this onto my photos. This allowed me to add the names of the cities right on top of the photos. I then used some of the transparent sticker geo location icons near the names of the cities to draw attention to them.

Circling the title are some airplanes, one of these is from the pack of puffy stickers and another from the die cut pack. To create more movement, I added some dashed lines and arrow puffy stickers.

A white gel pen allowed me to journal directly onto one of the die cut ephemera tags. I added a little puffy sticker taxi cab for more dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you have vacation photos to scrap, be sure to check out the Chasing Adventures collection. It is amazing.

Vacay Layout with Chasing Adventures

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. I am so excited to be sharing my first post with the fabulous Chasing Adventures collection by Jen Hadfield. This is such a fun collection! Perfect for capturing your adventures whatever they may be. The tropical elements in the collection were calling to me to scrap a photo from our Hawaiian vacation a few years ago.

This layout design was inspired by the washi tape in this collection. I added strips of washi tape all along one edge of a 8.5″x11″ piece of white cardstock.

I mounted my white piece of cardstock with the washi tape onto some pretty blue pattern paper that coordinated so well with my photo. A sun tucked behind my photo helps it to stand out against the busy patterns of the washi tape. The Vacay phrase sticker and palm tree from the Adventure Thickers made for the perfect title. I couldn’t resist adding those cute sunglasses from the puffy sticker pack too.

Hawaii has beautiful tropical flowers, just like these gorgeous floral die cuts I arranged opposite my title along with some wood veneer and the ‘Let’s Get Lost’ sign. I included a tag, tucked under the top of my photo, so that I could add journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’ll try creating a layout with a washi tape background too.

Scrapbook a Family Vacation!

Hi Pebbles friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today sharing my latest project in my quest to scrapbook a family vacation!  I used the “Girl Squad” collection, along with a few older supplies from my stash to create this page:

Create a scrapbook page documenting a family vacation like this layout by @WendySueA with the "Girl Squad" collection by @PebblesInc.

Even though this collection is geared toward girls and teens, I thought the colors and designs would work perfectly to document a fun photos from a recent family vacation to Yellowstone.  Here’s a closer peek at some of the details.

I created a collage using some of the printed die cut pieces.  Of course, I opted to use a few foam adhesive squares to pop up some of the pieces (i.e. the hat), for a bit of added dimension!

These mini Polaroid frames were a perfect addition to my layout, since I had a lot of photos from this spot that I wanted to include on just one page. It’s hard to tell from this photo, but the text is foiled in gold—so pretty!

Foam Thickers are a great way to create a title for any layout— I chose “awesome” for the title of this page and added some super old (shall we just call them “vintage?”) stickers to complete my title:Scrapbook a family vacation like this layout by @WendySueA with the "Girl Squad" collection by @PebblesInc.

It’s fun to add enamel dots (or other embellishments) to pre-printed items, just to add a unique twist:

And sometimes they make perfect little “fillers” to tie in colors and fill space:

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today, I hope you’re inspired to pick up this fun, bright, happy collection and scrapbook some vacation photos soon!
