It’s Mendi here today with an autumn wedding layout to share using more of Pebbles beautiful Home+made collection by Jennifer Hadfield!

Along with @PebblesInc, @tatertotsjello introduces her new collection - Home+Made! #JHHomeMade

As soon as I saw this collection, I was instantly drawn to the gorgeous flowers from the Planters paper and thought they would be so much fun to cut out and use as a focal point on a layout!

Home+Made Fall Wedding Layout with Gathered Ribbon Tutorial by @mendi_yoshikawa using the #JHHomeMade collection from @PebblesInc.Fussy cutting them was the perfect activity to do while watching mindless TV and I enjoyed embellishing the centers with different sequins and jewels paired with the Gold Circle Glitter Stickers.

To create my gathered ribbon border, I simply took 24 inches of ribbon and gathered it using an old-fashioned running stitch with a needle and thread which I knotted on the end.

When I had reached the end of my ribbon, I simply pulled the thread through to gather the ribbon without securing the other end yet.  To adhere the gathered ribbon to my layout I used 12 inches of Scor-Tape applied to my layout and then set to work slowly pressing my ribbon into the sticky tape.  The ribbon wanted to curl so I just took my time straightening it out and pulled it more flat where it would have my flowers overlapping.  This gave me a little extra room to turn the two ends to the back side of my layout and tape them down.  When I had everything where I wanted it, I finally knotted the other end of my thread.  By waiting to do this step, I was able to pull my ribbon tighter or looser as I worked.

I love the texture the gathered ribbon gives my finished layout!

Hello there! It’s Mendi here today with some Apple Themed cards featuring a fun tutorial for paper weaving using Pebbles awesome and versatile Basics Collection!

I think these cards would be perfect for cute back to school notes or just sweet hellos to your favorite friends!

First up, I have a shaped card I die-cut on my Silhouette Cameo (using the shape found here). I added a little stitching around the edge, stamped my sentiment and a layered die-cut daisy with a button for its’ center.  This came together quickly and yet I think it still has a lot of personality.

Up next I have a card featuring a darling apple print paper from Pebbles Back To School Collection and a handmade apple embellishment which I created from woven paper strips and an apple cutting file found here.

My last card features another die-cut apple from that same woven paper.  I was super excited to discover I could create two cards from my one 6×6 sheet as I will share below.  I kept the rest of my card design simple using a 5″ circle die-cut for my base and adding a little ribbon with a tag for my sentiment to help dress it up.

So now for the tutorial…

Step 1: Cut approximately four 1/2″ x 12″ strips from three different patterned papers and then cut each in half  (I let the pattern of the paper be my guide so some of my strips are slightly wider than 1/2″).

Step 2:  Cut a piece of thin standard office paper to 6×6 and add adhesive to one side.  Adhere the strips along that side, alternating patterns and let the rest of the strip hang freely.  Doing this helps make your piece more stable while you weave it together.

Step 3:  Begin weaving the remaining strips perpendicular as shown, making sure to glue under each portion.  This becomes a very important step when it comes to die-cutting it into a shape later.

Step 4:  After you have woven the entire 6×6 sheet, flip it over and add adhesive to the entire backside and adhere to printer paper for added stability.

Step 5:  Die-cut your woven paper with either manual dies or an electronic die-cutting machine.  I was concerned about my Silhouette blade getting caught on all the different strips of paper so I put in a brand new blade for this project and it worked beautifully.

I always love finding more ways to use all my favorite patterned papers and this was a super fun technique to experiment with!  I hope I’ve inspired you to give it a try on your next project.

Hello! It’s Mendi here today, and I’m super excited to be sharing some simple school-themed cards using Pebbles Back To School Collection!

Back to School Logo

These are perfect for a special teacher in your child’s life or even to make multiples of to give as a boxed set for a new teacher.

First up I have a card featuring some simple hand-cut pennants along with one of the stickers from the collection which I popped up with foam tape and added a little red button to the letter “o” for a fun detail.

Up next is a quick and easy card using the darling crayon stickers.  I wanted as much of the crayons to show as possible so I cut each of them in half and lengthened them by approximately 3/4″ before adhering them to my card panel.  I was then able to hide my alteration with the cute phrase sticker.

For my next card I used several of the circle accent stickers to create some fun little hanging tags dressed up with some basic metal rimmed office tags and tied with American Crafts Ribbon.

My last card features more of the circle accent stickers and a fun bow made with some American Crafts Ribbon.

I created a little picture tutorial on how to assemble this cute bow, along with 7 easy steps.

Step 1: Cut (2) 5″ ribbons and (1) 4″ ribbon.

Step 2: Apply Liquid Adhesive to each end of ribbon and fold inward, adhering in the center.

Step 3:  Adhere two longest ribbon loops together with liquid adhesive and add smallest loop to center.

Step 4:  With a needle, wrap thread around the center several times and tie with knot (can also be done without the needle).

Step 5:  Cut (1) 2.5″ ribbon and (1) 2.75″ ribbon with notches from each end as pictured.

Step 6:  Adhere notched ribbon to back of bow with liquid adhesive.  Add a drop of glue for center bow piece.

Step 7:  Wrap 2.5″ ribbon around the center of bow, securing on back side with more liquid adhesive.Pebbles Inc. Back To School Cards with Bow Tutorial by Mendi Yoshikawa @PebblesInc. @Mendi Yoshikawa

I hope you will give it a try!  I think it would be darling done up in so many of American Crafts fun ribbon prints!
