Black and White Layout

Hi everyone! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I’m going to show you how you can use the beautiful Thirty-One Collection from Pebbles to do a non-Halloween themed layout.

I love Halloween, but here in Chile we are just starting to celebrate this holiday and because I don’t have kids yet I really don’t have any themed photos to scrap! Looking at the entire collection though, I noticed that it had great patterns and a lot of them weren’t themed. So I thought I could use it for any kind of layout!

To start, I cut strips of paper from a grey and a black paper.

I drew diagonal lines and divided my layout in 4. Then I started gluing the strips of paper, making sure they were perpendicular.

After I finished one color I started with the other one.

Then I included my title and a cluster of stickers and embellishments under my photo.

The stickers in this collection are beautiful and for the layering technique you can cut them in half and glue them so you can only see the borders.

Hope you like it and happy holidays!

Anna and Elsa Layout

Hello, Pebbles Fans!  It’s Renee Zwirek here today to share a step-by-step tutorial of my layout using the Thirty-One collection.  I am especially excited for this Halloween.  My girls are dressing up as Anna & Elsa from the popular and loved Disney Frozen movie!  I wondered how I was going to combine the Thirty-One collection with my Frozen-themed photo. I was inspired by this image I found on Pinterest.

I started with white cardstock and added the Enchanted paper with adhesive.  I then added and machine stitched snowflake borders to the remainder of the page.

Here’s a close-up of the pretty snowflake borders that I stitched to the page.

I added foam dots to my photo and the very bottom of my layers of pattern papers.

Now that my layers are done, I can add my title and embellishments.

I added my title and more snowflakes with glitter candy dot centers.

I love the script font of this “Happy Halloween” Chalkboard Label sticker!  I fussy-cut some flowers from the Mystical pattern paper and added them within the layers around my photo.  I added some pretty Icicle Zazz! Glitter Glue to the centers of the flowers.  So pretty and sparkly!

The girls can’t wait to go Trick-or-Treating in their costumes.  So, I added this great sticker along a snowflake border.

I used the Roller Stamp to make this “Coolest Costumes!” banner for my page.

Here’s my finished layout!  I really enjoyed making this one.  This is such a wonderful Halloween collection!

I also wanted to share the Anna & Elsa (and Olaf) page I added to my Halloween Costumes O’Fl!p Album!  This album is a perfect and simple way to gather your Halloween costume memories.  My girls love flipping through it to see all the adorable costumes they have worn through the years.  I have to admit that this year is one of my all-time favorites!

Halloween Layout with Circle Tutorial

Hello there!  It’s Mendi popping in today with a Halloween layout featuring a fun circle background (inspired by a sketch found here).  Loopy circles are all the rage whether they are created by looping some thread under an embellishment or using a die-cut like the one I created here.  Read on to learn out how you can design your own too!

Within the Silhouette software create a 10-inch circle and then offset it by .1 inch.  Selecting both shapes, right click on your mouse and chose the “make compound path” option (I created temporary blocks to represent my photos just to get an idea of how big I would need my circle to be).

Next duplicate the circle three times and overlap them randomly in each direction, making sure they all overlap with each other and don’t exceed the width of your cutting mat.   With all four circles selected, go to the “modify” window and select the “weld” option.  Your four circles will now be one continuous shaped to cut from the cardstock or patterned paper of your choice.

I wasn’t sure which colors I wanted to use so to help me decide and save valuable paper, I chose to use the fill color option to play with my different options.  When I was certain, I cut it out and applied it to my layout using a liquid glue pen.  I had to work quickly and it was a tad wobbly to flip over onto my background so I ended up needing a little adhesive eraser where it landed in the wrong spot, but it otherwise worked beautifully.

To embellish my layout I turned to some of the darling stickers from Pebbles Thirty-One collection to create a little scene.

I love the chalkboard labels from this collection!  I popped up my label and several of the stickers with some foam tape for some extra depth.

The Chalkboard Black Chipboard Thickers from the Birthday Wishes are a perfect match for this collection.  I love mixing my fonts so I paired them with a stamp to give my title a little variety.

I hope I’ve inspired you to create your own circle background.

Halloween Treat Bags

Hi everyone! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I am going to show you how to make small pumpkins to decorate  your fall or Halloween projects.

I used these pumpkins to do some treat bags. They were very easy to make! Just fill one of the printed bags from Pebbles and embellish with some stickers and papers from this beautiful Halloween collection.

To make the pumpkins, cut and glue strips of paper. Use your circle punch (or scissors if it is too thick) to cut 3 circles of paper.

Glue two of these circles together, then attach the other one on top with some foam dots.

Cut a strip of green paper and use something pointy or a quilling tool to roll it. Pull the paper and glue to the top of the pumpkin.

Now fill and decorate your treat bags. They’re super easy, and your kids are going to love them!

Pumpkin Layout

Hello! It’s Renee Zwirek here today to share a step-by-step tutorial of a pumpkin-themed and titled layout.

I wanted this layout to look like it was framed. So, I cut out the center of my favorite paper in this collection to be the frame. The frame measures 1.5 inches all around.

For the mat of the frame, I cut out the center of white cardstock leaving 1/4″ of white to show.

I attached the frame and mat to my background paper and machine-stitched the four corners for added interest.

Here’s a close-up of one of the stitched corners.

I used a pencil to mark where I wanted to place my photo and then I added drops of color mist using a paintbrush.

Here is my photo!  I’m going back in time to 2005. Caitie’s First Halloween at the pumpkin farm! Yes, I dressed her as a little pumpkin and placed her in front of the pumpkin patch for a photo (cue the “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” music). Ha! Isn’t she adorable, though?! It got warm that day so I did change her into a short-sleeved dress right after I took this photo.

I layered a few pattern papers under the photo. I added an overlay to my photo and machine-stitched it a tiny bit at the bottom right corner (where I knew I would add some embellishments).

I used this pattern paper to cut out some triangles to add to my layout. I did add some more drops of color mist to the triangles before I machine-stitched them to the layout.

I added my title and a bit of journaling.

Now it’s time for some fun embellishments! I cut away some of the gray color from the branches as well as the bird of this tree sticker before adding it to my layout. Then, I added a few pumpkin stickers. They are too cute!

I cut apart a Kraft Bag and used a small punch for some pretty fall leaves to add to the page.

I loved this layout SO much that I put it in a scrapbook frame and added it to the scrap wall in Caitie’s room. 🙂
