Quilted Mother’s Day Layout & Card

Hey there Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here to share with you a fun quilted Mother’s Day layout and card set that I created with a combination of the TeaLightful collection, the Sunshiny Days collection, and the Lullaby collection. I chose bright patterns that mostly had smaller tone on tone prints, as well as some of the branding strips from the patterned papers. White cardstock was my base for both the Mother’s Day layout and the card. I wanted a blank slate to showcase the fun quilt blocks. When I began this project, I wasn’t intending  to create a card but I had a few bits and pieces left from the quilted pieces I created for the layout.

For the Mother’s Day layout, I began by cutting lots of 12×2 strips of patterned paper. Then, I adhered them to a piece of 12×2 white cardstock.

After I had a few 12×2 strips, I trimmed them down into 2″ squares.

When I had a little pile of 2×2 squares, I stitched down the center of each strip using white thread on my sewing machine. After all the stitching was finished, I began adhering the squares to my white background, diagonally on the left side of the layout.

I added a photo of my kids and I on the right side of the layout. I used Thickers from the Sunshiny Days collection to create the title, placing it above AND below the photo. The journaling for this layout is simply printed on white cardstock, cut into strips, and adhered above the title. I kept the embellishments on this layout to a minimum so that the photo and the quilted squares could shine. Once the Mother’s Day layout was finished, I had a few remaining squares on my desk and decided that I would make a quick Mother’s Day card as well, using only the leftover supplies.

I LOVE how both of these projects turned out!

I hope that these projects inspire you to create your own Mother’s Day projects. Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog. Happy Mother’s Day!

Teacher Appreciation Layout: I Can Write

Hi Pebbles friends! It is Leanne here today, sharing a fun Teacher Appreciation layout using the Pebbles Inc Sunshiny Days collection. I thought I would go “big” on a smaller layout using large alphabet letters. I also got my youngest son to do the journaling!

I love the bright colors from this summer loving collection, but I also know how versatile these patterned papers can be, so I converted the use of bright, fresh color to interpret elementary basics.

Using the WeRMemoryKeepers mini Alphabet Punch board, I created my letters for the background detail.

I didn’t cover the entire cardstock base, as I knew where my photo placement needed to be, so I saved myself the extra effort of creating letters. I mounted the photo onto extra patterned paper, then adhered it to the page.

Using the die cut ephemera pieces, I asked my seven year old to write some journaling directly onto the card. As the photo is about a list of names he had practiced writing, he kept his journaling relatively short | “I can write” + Name & Age! *grin*

Next, I then tucked the journaling card between the layers of patterned paper and added a few die cut embellishments.

While this layout isn’t in a typical Teacher Appreciation format, I love that I’ve documented his school boy hand writing. Of course, his writing stems directly from what he has learned from his dedicated teachers.

Thanks for joining me here today..x

Hello Pebbles fans! It’s Eva Pizarro here today, showing you how to use your washi tape to add a fun element to your Sunshiny Days layout.

One of my favorite embellishments from the Sunshiny Days collection are the narrow washi tapes. You can use them to decorate your planner, make frames, embellish Project Life cards, or — as I did on my layout — create a shape. The possibilities for washi tape are endless, and many shapes can be created using the fun patterns matched with a correlating patterned paper. With the Sunshiny Days collection, I thought what better pattern to create than a sun!

I created a sun to use as a background for my picture. Begin by cutting a circle from one of the patterned papers.

Mark the center of your circle and attach the washi tape strips, creating sun beans.

Don’t worry if your circle is not perfectly round, once you add the embellishments you won’t even notice!

To finish the layout I added a cute journaling card and some die cuts. The designs are perfect for your pool, beach, or summer photos! I love the flamingos, they are super cute and add flair to any page!

The washi tape pattern makes the sunbeans pop, while the sun draws the eye of the viewer right to the photo!

As a final touch, I added some epoxy stickers here and there. I hope you enjoyed this tip about using your washi tape stash to make something beautiful! What other ways do you utilize spare washi tape in your projects? Comment below and share your layout and washi tape tips.

DIY Summer Centerpiece ft. Sunshiny Days Collection

Hey there Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here. Are you ready for Summer? I know I’m ready for some warmer weather and lazy Summer days! I dove into the Sunshiny Days collection to create an awesome DIY Summer Centerpiece that I know you’ll love. This is such a fun, easy project.

Begin by cutting 3 of your favorite patterned papers from the Sunshiny Days collection into 3 1/2 inch squares. Then, cut from the corner of each square, 3/4 of the way into the center of the square. After cutting toward the center of the square from each corner, gently bend (don’t crease) every other point into the center and secure each piece with a little bit of adhesive. After bending the square into the pinwheel shape, pierce the center with a paper piercer; place a brad in the hole.

After creating all 3 pinwheels, adhere them to paper straws. Next, embellish the small circle vase with a few die cuts as a finishing touch. I couldn’t be happier with this DIY Summer centerpiece.

Creating the centerpiece was fun and easy. Now, if we could just get a little warmer weather so I can have a fun outdoor summer party and use this fun centerpiece. What summer party plans do you have?

Pineapple Anyone?

Hello everyone! It’s Monique here today sharing a layout I created for this week’s “mix and match” feature. I had so much fun creating this page using lots of my favorite Pebbles’ products! Here in The Netherlands we finally had a few sunny days and all of a sudden I longed for Summer! I decided to create a bright and colorful Summer layout using mainly the Sunshiny Days collection and the Fun In The Sun collection and some photos from our vacation in Greece last year. I love the pineapples and flamingos which are so hot right now and I thought I would give those a try. Here’s what I created for today:

A summery mix and match layout by @moniqueliedtke using the "Sunshiny Days" and the "Fun in the Sun" collections by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #scrapbook_layout

I just love how the pineapple turned out! Here’s a quick step-by-step how I created it: I used the Silhouette to cut out the shape of the pineapple (4.5″ x 9″) and with a pair of fringe scissors I cut seven strips of pink paper and six green strips. The strips measure 2″ x 5″.

I cut through these strips of paper for about three quarters of the width and adhered them on a piece of 10.5″ x 6″ of white cardstock, overlapping each other half.

Next I placed the negative shape of the pineapple over these pink & green “fringed” strips of paper:

I selected matching patterned papers for the background and tried to decide on a design for the rest of my layout.

In the end I chose two 4″ x 4″ photos of my youngest son and matted them on some “neutral” colored paper from the Simple Life collection. I selected die-cuts and stickers from both the Sunshiny Days and the Fun In The Sun collections and started building the rest of my page. I almost never design the layout before I start, but make it up as I go along.

I just adore all the fun papers, die-cuts & stickers in the Pebbles collections! There’s just so much to choose from! Just look at those flamingos! So adorable! And those puffy phrase stickers .. I just had to add those too!

The machine stitching was added last, which is always a bit of a risk but it’s what I do.

And now this layout is finished I long for Summer even more!
