Make Pinwheels With Your Kids

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia back today with another craft you can do with your kids. When I was little, my Mom showed me how to make a pinwheel. Pinwheels are fun. You can play with them. Learn about wind. Even use them to decorate with. You probably already have all the supplies you need at home too.

They look awesome in a vase. You could even use them for party favors.

Change the paper and you get completely different looks. I used different pattern papers from the Pebbles Sun & Fun collection.

Here is how you can make them too.

Supplies needed:
paper
pencil
ruler
scissors
a straw
a long stemmed brad.

1 Select your pattern paper. You want the front and back to coordinate well as you will see both sides. It’s ok to use a paper pad even where the back side is white. Cut the paper into a 6″x6″ square. Draw a line lightly in pencil diagonally from corner to corner, and repeat with the other corners. Then measure from each corner along the line and make a mark at 2 1/2″.

2. Use a hole punch to make a hole in the middle of the square where the 2 lines intersect. Then make 4 more holes just to the left of each corner near the edge.

3. Using a scissors, cut up from each corner following the penciled line to the pencil marking 2 1/2″. Erase the penciled lines.

Take the brad and insert it through the corner holes one at a time. Then insert it through the hole in the middle.

After you push the brad through the straw, open up the brad prongs, leaving enough space so you can still turn the pinwheel.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’ll try making pinwheels with your kids too.

“Hello Summer” Layout

Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today – did you know that tomorrow is officially the first day of Summer? (And my sister’s birthday – happy b-day, sis!) We don’t have any big vacation plans this year, but I have plenty of photos from summer vacations we’ve taken the last few years, so instead of being sad about having to cancel this year’s vacation, I’m reminiscing by scrapbooking previous trips.

Exactly three years ago, we took our kids on an RV trip up to Yellowstone. It was so much fun and I am so grateful we were able to take this trip! I have more photos than I’ll ever scrapbook, but some of my favorites are just random pictures of the kids all together. So that’s what I included on this page. (Also, note that they are wearing coats and hoodies in one picture – there was SNOW in Yellowstone in JUNE!!)

I used products from a couple of different collections – “Hey Hello” and “Fun & Fun” plus a strip of orange washi from “Happy Hooray!” I love when you can mix and match collections to get just the right vibe!

I used thickers for the pink title on the bottom of my page and I couldn’t resist adding the two dots from the exclamation points (!!) to add some pink cheeks to the sunshine!

You’ll also spy a bit of machine stitching as well – it’s probably one of my all-time favorite techniques!

Of course I had to use foam adhesive behind some of the printed die-cuts because I love adding subtle touches of dimension!

So whether you have big plans for this summer or if you’re choosing to stay home, you can still enjoy all the summer memories by creating a layout! What are your summer plans? Are you scrapbooking? We’d love to see what you’re up to – drop a comment below!!

Summer Shaped Cards

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. I thought it would be fun to create some shaped cards with the Pebbles Sun & Fun collection. I love creating shaped cards. I think they add a little whimsy to any occasion.

The inspiration for my surfboard card was all the adorable die cut ephemera kids in bathing attire. I thought surfboards would make a cool backdrop for them. I used a SVGcuts cut file. This card opens almost in the middle, with two surfboards on the left and one on the right of the opening.

I popped the die cuts up with foam dots for dimension and even added a fussy cut beach ball. There are a number of different sentiments in the ephemera pack that fit lots of different occasions. Puffy dot stickers add more dimension.

The “You’re One In A Melon” journal card inspired this next card. The watermelon slice was a Silhouette cut file. By duplicating the shape and welding the two slices together at the top, I was able to create my very own watermelon card.

The die cut watermelon in the ephemera pack was popped up on foam and attached to the front of this card. Once again, I added some puffy dot stickers for dimension.

Why not create a summer card yourself and send off to brighten someone’s day. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello everyone! It’s Eva on the blog today, sharing an easy summer layout using Pebbles’ new line: Sun & Fun

create a fun and easy summer layout with this tutorial from @evapizarrov using @pebblesinc new line Sun & Fun

This layout is fun and cheerful and I love the bright colors and the summer designs of this line, it is perfect to scrap your summer adventures!

To create this layout, I started by cutting 2 inch wide strips of paper and then cutting some triangles.

I placed those triangles behind a 7 1/2 inch circle and bent the edges a bit to give the layout a bit more texture.

Next, I added my picture on top of the circle and embellished it with some die cuts.

I felt something was missing, so I added a few strips of patterned paper on the bottom. I cut the edges with a border punch and I also bent the edges of the strips.

Finally, I added my title and some more triangles to the sun.

I love these word stickers! You can bend them if you want and they have a variety of fonts!

On the waves, I added a few fishes from one of the die cuts and some light blue puffy dots.

This is the final result! I love that the main focus of the page is my son’s picture. Those sun rays create the perfect frame for it!
