Layers and Colorful Leaves with Terhi

Hello and happy September! It’s soon time for colorful, beautiful and amazingly inspiring nature, at least here in Northern Hemisphere. While waiting those colors, I picked up a photograph from last fall and started creating my own wreath out of paper leaves.

There are plenty of different leaves and blooms to cut out of Spooky Boo patterned papers, and in addition to hand cut some I also used my electric cutting machine to cut out more different shaped leaves.

Then, I glued the leaves down onto white cardstock to shape of a wreath, and made a paper cluster using the left over patterned papers.

As I had printed out two of the same photos, I cut one smaller than the other, and placed them on top each other using foam tape. See the dimension, isn’t it such a fun detail!

Once I had attached all papers and photos, I started flicking gold and yellow mists around the wreath. That’s easy to do with small watercolor brush.

As I love layers, and love highlighting the layers, adding small adhesive pearls is another great way to do so. Those small items between the leaves are shimmering nicely and gives extra unique look to the layout.

Hopefully this inspires you to create something today!

Hello Pebbles’ fans! It’s Eva on the blog today bringing you a card set inspired by the plaid patterns on our new Halloween line: Spooky Boo!

Create a fall inspired card set with @pebblesinc new Halloween line #SpookyBoo pc: @evapizarrov

This new collection is a Halloween themed line but has a variety of designs that can be used for fall or everyday pages. I got my inspiration by the plaid patterns on this line and decided to create a card set combining black, white, orange and green.

I started by trimming some papers and added a green one from the My Bright Life collection, that matched exactly the green on the Spooky Book line.

I created my own plaid pattern by weaving the strips of paper.

I cut the excess and placed my plaid background on top of a card using 3d foam dots.

Next, I used some of the glittered thickers to add a sentiment and also added a word made with my Word Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers.

Because the background was so busy I decided to keep the card really simple and I think it looks lovely!

I also created two more cards using the plaid patterns of the Spook Boo collection. On this one, I cut some flowers from one of the patterned papers and used a sentiment from the My Bright Life in the middle.

On this card, I also used a tag from the My Bright Life collection and some cut out flowers and pumpkins.

And here’s my set of cards! They were really simple and I think the plaid pattern is perfect for fall! Thanks for joining me and have a great day!

Happy Halloween Layout

Can you even believe that it’s time to start planning Halloween costumes and treats and parties and games?? I recently printed out our Halloween pictures from last year and I couldn’t wait to scrapbook our annual “costumed cousins” photo!  Here’s a look at the layout I created with the new “Spooky Boo!” collection – and keep reading for a quick little journaling tip too!

Happy Halloween layout by Wendy Sue Anderson featuring the "Spooky Boo!" Collection by @PebblesInc.

I am a HUGE fan of hand-written journaling, but sometimes I opt for printed text to add to my layouts.  This time, I wanted to create a tag with journaling to coordinate with the pre-made tags, so here’s what I did.

First, I wanted to find a font to match this cute font from the collection. Even if I’m printing journaling, I often choose fonts that look like handwriting:

I found this free font (KG Sorry Not Sorry) and printed my journaling on white cardstock:

Next, I used one of the tags as a template to cut out around the text:

After adding a hole and tying a black bow, here’s how it looks on the layout:

And, just for fun, here are a few more detail shots of the page.

Notice how much I love using foam adhesive dots to add subtle touches of dimension and depth to my pages:

Aren’t those thickers fun?  I love the orange topped with black!!Happy Halloween layout by Wendy Sue Anderson featuring the "Spooky Boo!" Collection by @PebblesInc.

Tell us about your journaling – do you prefer to hand-write? Do you have a go-to font?  Do you like to mix up fonts to coordinate with other items on your project?  We’d love to hear!!

Happy Halloween!

Wendy Sue

Fall Wreath Layout ft. Spooky Boo

Hello Pebbles’ fans and welcome to our blog! I’m Eva and today I want to share with you a Fall Wreath layout using Pebbles’ new Halloween and Fall line called Spooky Boo.

Use the new #SpookyBoo collection by @pebblesinc to create a Fall Layout like this one from @evapizarrov #pebblesinc #madewithpebbles

Here in Chile, we don’t have big celebrations for Halloween.  Children do get all dressed up and asks for sweets but we don’t decorate our houses or give out cards or anything. With this in mind, I am always looking for a way to incorporate the lovely Halloween lines into my everyday projects.

The new Spooky Boo line is super cute and it also has great fall patterns that you can use on your everyday layouts or mini albums. This line has leaves and flowers that I thought would be perfect to create a Fall Wreath Layout.

I started by cutting a huge wreath on this cute leaf paper. I love that the leaves are small so you can see them on the die cut.

Next, I cut it in half.  On the right side I put my journaling and on the left side I put my photo and my title.

I decorated my wreath with die cuts, stickers and puffy stickers. I even took a label sticker that had a halloween sentiment on top and used it by covering the sentiment with white cardstock.

On the right side I wrote my journaling and used my Square Guide to make sure my lines were absolutely straight. I love that tool!

Finally, I added some paint splatters and lifted and shaped a bit of the leaves from the wreath to give more dimension to my project.

I think this Fall Wreath layout was super fun and I loved that I could use the Halloween line to create a non-Halloween project! How about you, do you use your themed lines for everyday projects too?

Halloween Decor with our guest Kimberly and Spooky Boo!

We love having @kimberlystamps with us on the blog today! Look at this darling project she created to show off the Spooky Boo Line!!

Hello everyone! Kimberly Crawford here and I am thrilled to be guest designing for Pebbles, Inc.! I have long-loved everything Pebbles creates and playing with the new Halloween collection, Spooky Boo, has been an absolute blast!

Decorating for Halloween is always fun. This year I have a new shelf up in the house and it was begging for some great pieces for the season. Take a look at how I used all the wonderful pieces in the collection.

First up, glass flasks. The cardstock label stickers are meant for these! Not only will they look cute attached to spooky treats, but they make perfect décor pieces. Before applying your stickers to the glass, be sure it is clean. I find a lens cleaner works well.

Whenever I am shopping, I always check the dollar spots and other clearance sections for frames. This chalkboard frame, with its black background was a great place to add patterned paper and some ephemera, along with a few glittery bat stickers. Don’t forget to bend the wings up a little bit for more dimension.

This small frame was the ideal spot for this friendly ghost sticker. The 6×6 patterned paper pad has some embossed images. These shiny and raised bats add a fun touch in the background. The boo sticker is sweet too, which I love.

Adding ephemera and stickers to wood and metallic décor is so easy. Be sure and use a strong glue or adhesive and your pieces will last a long time. The gold shine on the boo circle and these stars looks fantastic against this metallic black star.

On the cardstock sticker sheet is a set of three bottles-perfect for a small frame. I added the crow and a spider to complete the scene. In my silly sense of humor, I also added a trick or treat banner to the bottom of the frame.

My love of frames continued with a larger square frame in the background. Because of where the frame would be placed, I knew I needed to keep my design in the top of the frame. Using the eyeball tear strip, I had the best place to put a cardstock sticker of a black kitten saying “Happy Halloween.” The sticker really looks like the kitten is peeking over the top of the strip of paper. It really is amazing what details a subtle patterned paper can add to a project. In all of my frames, I used papers that added to the overall theme. It truly ties the entire project together.

This entire ensemble started with the largest frame in the back. How could it not? Look at that amazing spider web piece of paper! The paper is thick and glittered. But not the messy kind as the glitter stays on the paper! Backing it with an orange and black polka dotted paper made the ideal backdrop for everything.

One last detail are these bats! These bats are made for adding to the wall. They come in three sizes in the package and have small backing squares on them, making it easy to stick to the wall. (and they come off easy too, I checked.) The wings have a place to bend them to bring them to life.

Thank you Pebbles for letting me use Spooky Boo and for helping me make some great Halloween Décor!
