There are some things that you can just count on in a Pebbles Inc. line, like mini envelopes. They’re the perfect size and soooo cute! This week we’re sharing mini envelope inspiration. Designer Eva Pizarro is kicking things off with a beautiful baby-themed envelope mini album.

Mini Envelopes

I love the Mini Envelopes from Pebbles, you can use them to leave cute notes to someone you care, include them on your projects and also use them as pages for a mini album.

Fort his Project I used some of the envelopes from the Garden Party Collection and mixed them with the Special Delivery Girl line.

I used papers, overlays and some journaling cards from the pad.

All the pretty embellishments from this line allowed me to finish this cute little album in no time!

Inside the envelopes I left some room for photos, journaling spots, cute animals and even a sample of stickers so the mom to be can personalize the album.

Mother's Day

No one loves a beautiful handmade card more than Mom. Today Design Team Member Laura Craigie is sharing a couple of the lovely Mother’s Day cards she’s made for the coming holiday.

It’s almost Mother’s Day, and I needed to get cracking on making cards to send out.  Here are two that I have made so far.

I think it’s also important to send cards to Grandparents if you are blessed enough to have them around, thusly I made this “Nana” card.  I covered the floral die cut in glitter glue for some extra fun, and a bit of Glossy Accents on the leaves.  I think it’s a really fun and dramatic touch to add.

And then of course a card for Mom.  I love using the ABC cards as a bold monogram on my cards, it’s just such a cute option.  Those glitter thickers also really help to make this card shine.

Alphabet Learning Game

We love seeing new, inventive uses for our products. Stick around and check out how Design Team Member Kim Jeffress is using Journaling Cards and Thickers to make an alphabet learning game with her boys!

Repurposing Themed Collections

Today I am putting on my teacher hat and combining my scrappy supplies with a little  project for my son who has just started kindergarten this year.

When I saw the Special Delivery ABC cards I knew they would be perfect for creating a sound/ letter game for my son to practice his sound skills. I pulled out some white paper, the ABC cards and coloured pencils for my older son who is 7.

I gave my younger  son some punched circles that I punched from American Craft cardstock and some Pebbles basics Thickers.

You can see what they did here in my quick little video.

Once they were finished I glued the drawings to the back of the cards to complete the game.

For the letters  I made sure all the letters were lowercase so he could differentiate between upper case which are on the back of the ABC cards.

There are three variations for playing the game.

1. Match the letter to the picture of each sound.

2. Match the Upper case and Lower case letters.

3. Trace the letters with a finger while your child has his or her eyes closed or covered, guessing what letter he is feeling.( This is why  chose the glitter letters for the texture on the letters.

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, we thought we’d share a touch of inspiration. Today enjoy this beautiful Mother’s Day scrapbook layout, “I Have a Life That’s Good,” by Design Team Member Becky Williams.

Mother's Day

One of the fun things about Pebbles collections is how well they mix together.

Here I have mixed the Americana, Special Delivery Girl and Garden Party lines.

I really liked the pockets with two inserts so that I could add lots of journaling about my sweet family.

Easter Scrapbook Layout

Who doesn’t love a fun, themed collection? They’re always so fun to work with. It’s a bit more of a creative challenge though when you repurpose a themed collection and use it in a new way. Take for instance the way Suzanna Lee has taken our Special Delivery line and used it to create an Easter scrapbook layout.

Repurposing Themed CollectionsThe Special Delivery Girl collection has such lovely soft colors with a bright spark here and there to pull you in. It’s just darling for baby girls. Or Easter bunnies! My baby girl is 7 now, she’s really not much of a baby. But doesn’t preclude me from using this collection! The colors and certain elements are just the thing for this Easter themed layout.

Easter scrapbook layout created by @SuzannaLee72 using @PebblesInc #SpecialDeliver collection #scrapbooking #pebblesincDon’t be afraid to re-purpose themed collections. Scan through the embellishments and you will always find some that are generic, more support to the central theme. Those are the embellishments and papers that will become central to your re-purposed theme and creation. For example, the rabbit and flowers that I used here.

Easter scrapbook layout created by @SuzannaLee72 using @PebblesInc #SpecialDeliver collection #scrapbooking #pebblesincEven embellishments that clearly are particular to the theme can be multi-purposed. It’s very clear when you think about it that “Hello world” and “Girl” are from a baby collection when you see it with the whole collection and all the cutesy baby sayings and classic symbols of baby (safety pins, rubber ducks, etc) but they don’t look out of place here, on an Easter layout. Think outside of the box; how else can you use things?

Easter scrapbook layout created by @SuzannaLee72 using @PebblesInc #SpecialDeliver collection #scrapbooking #pebblesincDon’t be afraid to pull things apart, cover them or the part that is clearly irrelevant as you try to re-purpose either. That little green washi tape looking bit anchoring the journaling tag down is the top of the “Hello world” banner. It was too long for the spot I wanted the banner so I trimmed it to fit. The left over was perfect as a pseudo-washi don’t you think?

EasterRepurpose_Close3_SuzannaLeeDon’t be afraid to use a themed collection if it’s not relevant to you for another purpose! I had another example of re-purposing up on my blog earlier this month. I used the Pebbles Americana collection, a very patriotic, red, white and blue collection to document a swimming event. You can find it HERE if you’re interested.
