Summer Shaped Cards

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. I thought it would be fun to create some shaped cards with the Pebbles Sun & Fun collection. I love creating shaped cards. I think they add a little whimsy to any occasion.

The inspiration for my surfboard card was all the adorable die cut ephemera kids in bathing attire. I thought surfboards would make a cool backdrop for them. I used a SVGcuts cut file. This card opens almost in the middle, with two surfboards on the left and one on the right of the opening.

I popped the die cuts up with foam dots for dimension and even added a fussy cut beach ball. There are a number of different sentiments in the ephemera pack that fit lots of different occasions. Puffy dot stickers add more dimension.

The “You’re One In A Melon” journal card inspired this next card. The watermelon slice was a Silhouette cut file. By duplicating the shape and welding the two slices together at the top, I was able to create my very own watermelon card.

The die cut watermelon in the ephemera pack was popped up on foam and attached to the front of this card. Once again, I added some puffy dot stickers for dimension.

Why not create a summer card yourself and send off to brighten someone’s day. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Pebbles friends! Mother’s Day is just around the corner – have you made a card yet? No? Well, I’ve got a quick and easy idea for you today! It’s Wendy Sue here today and I’d love to help inspire you to whip up a quick and easy card or two or three for a special mom or mother figure in your life!

Don’t let shaped cards intimidate you – they really are quite easy! Here’s a quick step-by-step photo tutorial to show you how I made these!

Step 1: Start by folding the card base (cardstock). Use a metal die (this is just one way to do it – you could also use a digital die-cutting machine or even trace a circle onto white cardstock and cut out with scissors) circle shape. Place the die onto the folded cardstock so the top of the die isn’t cutting the cardstock – this will leave room for the fold at the top of the card (or the side if you prefer):

Step 2: Cut a circle the same size from patterned paper:

Step 3: Tie a ribbon around the patterned paper and tie in a knot at the left side. I used a staple to secure the ribbon right in the center because I will be covering it soon.

Step 4: Tuck a printed die-cut under the ribbon on the right side of the patterned circle. Allow it to extend off the circle a bit.

Step 5: Now cut a smaller circle from a coordinating patterned paper. For this circle, choose a pattern that is less busy, or a smaller pattern scale. Use foam adhesive squares to attach it to the center of floral circle (covering the staple.

Step 6: Choose your favorite skinny thicker sticker to add the letters to spell out “MOM” on the small circle.

Step 7: Now you can choose to add a “MOM” next to the word. You could also opt to add additional flowers, stickers, or even center “MOM” and leave it alone. But I think these cute girls look like they could be fun young moms, so I’m adding them! 😉

Step 8: Attach the patterned circle to the card base! That’s it! Wasn’t it so easy?

Snow Globe Card Set

There’s really nothing more magical than a snow globe at Christmas time.  Think about it – a little winter wonderland right at your fingertips.  The north pole. Santa’s village. A favorite city covered in magical glowing snow.  Honestly, it makes me giddy just thinking about shaking that little magical glass globe and watching the flakes swirl around as a familiar holiday tune plays in the background.  That’s why, when I was challenged to create some Christmas cards with the “Holly Jolly” collection, I found myself figuring out how to recreate some magic in the form of cards!  Here’s the little set I came up with, and instructions so you can create your own snow globe card set too!Create your own snowglobe card set by @wendysue featuring the "Holly Jolly" Collection by @PebblesInc

Start by cutting a snow globe from two patterned papers.  I used a shape from the Silhouette store – but there are a lot of options – including free-handing one. It’s a simple shape, so anyone can do it!

I used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges.  This step is optional, but I love the added detail:

Next, use the same shape to create the card base from white cardstock.  I chose to have my card open at the top, but you could create it so it opens from the side if you prefer.

Place the patterned (and sewn) pieces on the card front.

The magic is about to begin! Use stickers or die-cut to create the “scene” in the globe.

I like to place at least one of the images on pop-dotsCreate your own snowglobe card set by @wendysue featuring the "Holly Jolly" Collection by @PebblesInc

Next, I added the “Merry Christmas” tag over the seam between the base and glass of the globe.  I placed it on foam as well.  There’s already a hole punched in these tags, so adding a jute bow is the perfect addition.

I also chose to add some additional detail with enamel dots (one of my favorite embellishments):

And that’s it.  Pure magic.

Of course, I couldn’t stop at ONE…so here’s the entire collection:

Shaped Autumn Leaves Cards

Hi friends!  It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing one of my favorite types of projects – shaped cards!  I love this time of year, when the leaves on the trees start changing colors.  The reds, oranges, and yellows are my favorite for sure!  Enter these shaped autumn leaves cards!!  The papers in the “Woodland Forest” collection are just perfect for these fall cards!  First take a little peek at my cards, then read on to see how easy they are to create!

I use my silhouette cameo to create my shaped cards.  It’s easy to do with pretty much any shape.  Of course, if the shape has one side that is relatively flat or straight, it’s easier.  For this card, I chose an autumn leaf and opened it up in the software.

Next, I used the “mirror down” option to duplicate the shape.  Depending on which side is straight, you might want to mirror left or right.  Just remember whichever direction you mirror will determine how your card will open.Autumn colors shaped leaf cards by @wendysue for @pebblesinc with the "Woodland Forest" collection

Finally, nudge the shapes closer together, or even slightly overlap them.  Then use the “weld” function to attach them.  Cut out the shape and fold in half.  Embellish as desired!Autumn colors shaped leaf cards by @wendysue for @pebblesinc with the "Woodland Forest" collection

I cut out a total of three cards, using plain white cardstock as my card base.  Next, I cut a slightly smaller leaf out of three different patterned papers.  Here’s a look at the yellow card:

After attaching the smaller colored leaf to the card base, I added the “stem” part of the leaf (cut from brown patterned paper).

Next, I attached printed cardstock shapes near the stem, using foam adhesive dots to secure them.

The sentiments are cut from the tiny squares paper in the 6×6 paper pad.

Using a small hole punch, I tied the shape and sentiment to the stem.

The twine is the perfect embellishment for these shaped autumn leaves cards!
