Hello Pebbles fans! It’s Monique today, sharing a layout created with the beautiful Harvest collection. When I was a little kid we used to spend many holidays in Germany with my German grandparents. My grandmother would have the “Kartoffelsalat” (potato salad) in the fridge, ready to be put on the table as soon as we arrived. After hours of driving we would be ravenous and granny’s salad would taste so good! This has become one of my favorite childhood memories. So apart from the fact that my grandmother’s potato salad tastes wonderful, it’s also this memory that makes it my favorite dish. When my grandmother passed away, my parents took over the preparing of the “Kartoffelsalat” for the holidays and for the last 5 years I’ve been doing it.

I thought it would be fun to scrap about this for today’s blog post! Here’s what I did:

When I was deciding which fabulous Pebbles Inc. collections I was going to use to scrap my photos, I noticed the fun kitchen utensils in the Harvest collection and my choice was made! I wanted to hand stitch my title and needed to determine where it was going to be so I started arranging my papers and photos without adhering them. I typed up the recipe in Word and printed it straight onto a strip of white cardstock, which I then placed at the top of my page. I also cut a few 12″ strips of paper of various widths and arranged these, together with the matted photo on my page. Next I chose one of the American Crafts embroidery stencils and placed this on my page where I wanted my title:

Carefully, so I wouldn’t move the photos and papers, I punched the holes in my sheet:

And when I was certain I punched the letters where I wanted them, I removed the photos and papers and hand stitched the word “recipe”:

Now I could start building my page “for real” and adhere photos, papers, stickers and other embellishments.

As I adore stitching on my layouts I decided to choose another design from the American Crafts embroidery stencils: the word bubble with the heart. I cut a piece of paper from one of the “Homemade” kraft bags, punched the word bubble with heart, stitched it with some orange embroidery thread and hand cut around it and added it to my page. I love the effect!

Except for the Harvest collection, I also used a few pieces from the new Woodland Forest collection, like the beautiful wood veneers. As I thought the wood veneers were a bit too “bare” I decided to give them a “gold dipped” look. I covered half of them in Versamark ink, sprinkled gold embossing powder over it, shook off the excess powder and used a heating tool to make it melt. See the butterfly in the photo above and the leave wood veneer in the photo below:

Last but not least I added some machine stitching as well, a couple of drops of color shine and some journaling and I was done! Hope you like it!

Inspired by a way delicious pumpkin cake I made last week, I thought it would be fun to make some pumpkin spice inspired thank you cards for Fall. I dug through Pebbles’ Harvest collection for deep yellow and orange pumpkin spice colored patterned papers and embellishments.

Really great cards don’t have to be complicated. Attach a journaling card to the front of a card with a clip and you have a super easy and sophisticated card (Amy uses the same technique in this post HERE). Add some texture by adding stitching detail and a jute twine bow.

Adding fibers to a card gives a flat card warmth and dimension. Simply wind some twine around your hand and place beneath an embellishment.

You can also add texture to a card using Pebbles delicious flour sack labels.

Choosing the right adhesive can make or break a project. A little bit of double sided adhesive tape on the back of a patterned paper panel holds everything in place until you stitch the border of the card. Crafty Tip: Strategically place adhesive away from the areas where you will be stitching so you don’t gum up your sewing machine.

Raised sticky dots are perfect for adhering cardstock embellishments to cards. Add a few well placed raised sticky dots to your embellishment and place directly on top of the twine to hold the twine in place.

Adhere bows to cards with a dab of liquid adhesive. This glue also dries clear so you won’t even notice the glue blob.

Now this is what you’ve been waiting for–the pumpkin cake that inspired it all. I recommend making at least two. Yum!

Hello Pebbles fans! Amy from The Happy Scraps here today, and I’m excited to be sharing this simple DIY Recipe Card Holder with you today. The Harvest line is great for Fall, but it’s also perfect for anything in your kitchen.

I collected a few supplies out of the line that I thought might be fun to use for this project. I didn’t use all that are pictured below, but I did use some.

I started out by painting my wood block. I painted it a light ivory color, so it would match the off white color in the Harvest collection. Once the paint was dry, I applied the Harvest Alpha Thickers to spell the word yummy.

Next I cut a piece of the Apple Crisp paper to fit my magnet board. I used spray adhesive to adhere it to the metal.

I picked out a few of the Harvest Chips Die Cut Shapes that I wanted to use to make some magnets for the magnet board. I used the Harvest Wood Mounted Stamps, and grabbed the silverware stamp to stamp on the cutting board die cut, and then I used Sticky Thumb sticky dots to adhere the magnets to the back of the die cut shapes. Aren’t these die cuts the cutest?!

I cut out one of the cards from the Harvest Recipe Cards paper and wrote out one of my very favorite recipes, it’s dinner rolls out of my great grandmas cookbook. Then I put it on the magnet board, holding it on with the cute magnets.
