A Midnight Haunting Pinwheel Bouquet

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique with you today to share my first Midnight Haunting project! I love about this new Pebbles’ Halloween collection because it has so many Fall-related papers and embellishments! Fall is my favorite season of the year and I always look forward to it.

When I saw this new Midnight Haunting collection, I couldn’t wait to dig in and create something! Here is the first of – I’m sure – many Fall projects to come: a bouquet of “Not So Scary Pinwheels”!

Ever since the kids were small, we have had a little corner in our living room that we like to decorate according to the season. This Fall bouquet of pinwheels is now standing on our Fall-themed cabinet in the living room.

To create this bouquet of pinwheels, I selected all the Autumn papers and embellishments from the Midnight Haunting collection and the Pinwheel Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers.

I hadn’t used this particular We R punch board before and I loved how easy it was to work with! In no time at all, I punched and folded 10 pinwheels!

Look how awesome they look! For the center of the pinwheels, I used brads from my stash.

Because the collection is double-sided and the both the A and B sides are fabulous, the papers are just perfect for a project like this where you see both sides of the page.

I adhered the pinwheels to paper straws by folding the “legs” of the brad around it. I then stuck them in little glass bottles filled with soft sand (in The Netherlands we call this “bird sand”):

The glass bottles were decorated with die-cuts and stickers and a bit of twine:

I hope like my little bouquet.  I just can’t wait to see what you will create with it!

Hello there! Amy from The Happy Scraps here today and I’m excited to be sharing my newest Red, White & Blue Pinwheel Decor piece with you today. I love to decorate for Independence Day and the new America the Beautiful collection is perfect for it.

To start off, I grabbed the Patriotic Posies Paper and used the gift bag punch board to make a little bag for my pinwheels. I cut my paper to be 7″ x 12″ and followed the instruction on the gift bag punch board to make my bag. I used the Sticky Thumb Two-Sided adhesive tape to put my bag together. I embellished the front with the fireworks and Pledge of Allegiance from the America the Beautiful Ephemera Die-Cuts. I hot glued a piece of floral foam into the bottom of my bag, so I’d be able to stick the pinwheels down into it.

Once I had my bag done, I started on the pinwheels. I cut my paper into 4″ squares and followed the instructions on the pinwheel punch board.

I punched the corners, lined up the paper with the size I started with. I punched the center hole and cut where it needed to be cut. Because I was layering the pinwheels, I followed the instructions for cutting the second piece.

I got all my papers cut, got my pinwheel parts out, and started assembling them. I placed the back piece of paper on the back, and layered the front piece at a diagonal on the top. I put it on the plastic part for the pinwheel, then added the front pinwheel part.

I pulled the back paper through the cuts on the front, pulled all the punched holes to the center and put them on the dowel piece. I place the front cap on, added a star sticker, and put the paper straw in the back.

Once I got all of my pinwheels made, I put them in my bag.

I had the perfect spot for it up on my shelf next to the rest of my Independence Day decor.

I love the way the pinwheels look all done up! They are SO fun!

Even though the bag was really simple to make and put together, as well as add the embellishments to it, I love the way it turned out. I was excited when I found the Pledge of Allegiance in the pack.

I love what it adds to the rest of my 4th of July decor.

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels

Hello everyone! Amanda here today with a super festive red, white and blue project. I had been itching to try the WRMK pinwheel punch board for a while now and I am so glad that I finally did. It was so easy and the pinwheels are so fun! You know what makes them even more fun? Making them with red, white, and blue patterned paper from Pebbles’ Americana collection.

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Americana collectionNot long after I finished photographing these pinwheels, my 8 year-old daughter was off and running with them, making them spin all over the place. The spinning mechanism is super smooth and it requires little effort to get them to spin, making them super fun for little ones. They would be fun to bring along to a Fourth of July parade or picnic, or to make a festive holiday centerpiece.

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Americana collectionI was having so much making the pinwheels spin that I started to get light-headed. Whoa! These pinwheels made me feel like I was a kid again. Go ahead and make one for everyone at your Fourth of July barbecue. So. Much. Fun.

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Americana collectionThe Americana collection has the best red, white and blue double sided papers. Rather than mix and match too many patterns, I picked patterned papers that had coordinating prints on either side. Use the same double-sided patterned paper on an individual pinwheel to create a more cohesive look.

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Americana collectionAt first, the WRMK pinwheel punch board looks so confusing, but I promise that if you read through the instructions, your first pinwheel will turn out perfectly. Each pinwheel requires four punches and four small cuts. You’ll get the hang of it in no time. (For a complete tutorial on how to use the WRMK Pinwheel Punchboard, watch THIS short video.)

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Americana collectionThe plastic pinwheel attachments are super easy to put together. They consist of three separate parts and fit on the top of any paper straw.

Red, White and Blue Pinwheels by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Americana collectionThe WRMK Pinwheel punch board comes with instructions on how to make a single or double pinwheel. Just remember that the A piece goes on top of the B piece. I unknowingly tried it the other way around and just about pulled my hair out. I also found that it was easiest to assemble 4″, 5″ and 6″ pinwheels on the pinwheel attachments.

Have a safe and Happy Independence Day!
