Red, White, and Blue Gift Bags

Good morning to all of my Pebbles friends!  It’s Wendy Sue here today, with a quick and easy little project I whipped up to share some fun patriotic treats with some of my favorite neighbors!  I love sharing a little surprise gift at random times, but when there’s a holiday or reason for celebration, it’s even a BETTER time to share!  I used the Gift Bag Punch Board (from We R Memory Keepers) and the “Americana” collection to create this fun little set of gift bags.

I love the versatility of the gift bag board.  I used the “large” size marking for all three of these bags, but made each one a different height.

I also like adding a contrasting band across the top of each of the bags.  Here’s a closer look at the tops:

Did you notice that two of the bags have “insides” that match the band?  That’s because I simply scored and folded the top of the paper before creating the bag.

But the third bag band doesn’t match the inside.  I thought the pattern was a little too large for the top band.  So instead, I opted to cut a strip from a coordinating paper and glue it to the paper before making the bag.

Both techniques are really easy and add a fun bit of contrast to the bags.  After creating the bags, simply add a few coordinating embellishments to the bag fronts, then fill them up with yummy treats to share!  Happy 4th of July!! 🙂

Hello, Renee here to share a couple of Fourth of July cards using the Americana collection and the We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board.  Both of these cards measure 4″ x 5½”.  I used the Flower Punch Board for these cards without using flowers.

Using the We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board and Bright Stars pattern paper, I made an XS flower measuring 1¾” x 6″.

Instead of folding it into a flower, I added it to my card to create an interesting border.

I added a 1″ x 5 3/8″ strip of the Bright Stars pattern paper over the border.

Next, I added a few dimensional stars.

Using the Flower Punch Board again and Broad Stripes pattern paper, I made an XS flower (1¾” x 6″) and cut the tips off. Then, I cut along the stripes on each petal to the center to make the flower look like a firecracker.

I layered a dimensional pinwheel on top of the flower and added stickers.

Have a Safe and Happy Fourth of July!

Today we’re presenting our very first edition of Pebbles Rewind where we highlight a mix of our favorite past projects all revolving around a particular theme. And today’s theme is of course the coming holiday, Independence Day.

4th of July Pebbles Rewind

The Fourth of July is a great time to thank, honor and reverence all those who selflessly serve and sacrifice every day for our freedom. It’s also a fun time to be with family and friends and enjoy the beauty of our nation and all that we have accomplished since our very first Independence Day. However you choose to celebrate the day, we’ve collected a great group of projects to inspire you and help you prep for whatever events you’ll be enjoying.

Memorial Day Inspired Gifts

Hello everyone, Eva Pizarro here today bringing you some handmade gifts inspired by this Memorial Day.

In Chile we don’t celebrate Memorial Day but that doesn’t mean I don’t get to be inspired by all the wonderful crafts I see this time of the year! I decided to make some gifts inspired by the colors, the theme and the stars that are traditional to the Memorial Day holiday.

My gifts are chocolate bars, and to embellish them I made a box using my Envelope Punch Board by WRMK. I measured the chocolate bar and then scored and punched my paper following the measurements you find on the board. To give some height to the box, I added 1/2 inch and scored again.

Then, I trimmed the four little corners and closed the envelope box.

I wrapped some paper around the box and then (of course) embellished it. I used some acetate attached to some stars to give my decorations a little movement.

Afterwards, I added a message with a scalloped paper.

I also did this one with some die cut stars and a polaroid frame.

I hope you like them! I am sure you can find someone in your life to give thanks with this sweet treat!

Memorial Day Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #Americana collection from @Pebbles @SnippetsByMendi

Hello there!  It’s Mendi here today with some special Memorial Day themed gifts!  These sweet treat bags would be perfect to thank someone who has served in the military or just a great addition to a Memorial Day weekend BBQ!  To create these I turned to one of my favorite Pebbles collections from the past year: Americana!

As a way to dress up my bags I cut out a fun handled topper from patterned paper using a Silhouette Cutting file and created a clear window in my bags to show some patriotic cookies.

Now I must confess…  I was really trying to make THESE beautiful cookies on Pinterest to show through my little window, but my talents are obviously not in the kitchen.  Somehow my white dough got lost in the middle and I ended up settling for more of a marbled look.

To create the window in my glassine bags I centered a scalloped circle die from the Homemade collection approximately one inch from the bottom edge and secured it with washi tape to keep it from shifting while running it through my die-cutting machine.

I then slid a slightly smaller clear plastic party bag down the center to hold my cookie.  It was super easy and yet I think the window adds a special detail to the project!

Here’s one last look at the completed treat bags.  I tried to keep them simple to make them easy to mass produce for a party.  I think these would also make great take home treats for a child’s birthday!
