A summer-themed project with Anna, our guest designer for the day!

Hello Pebbles fans. My name is Anna Komenda and I am so happy to be here as a Guest Designer. I had a freedom of creating whatever I wanted… so I decided to play with the “Patio Party” and “My Bright Life” collections. We are in the middle of winter here in Poland and I miss warm, summer days so much. I love coming back to those memories to brighten up cold and gray winter days.

I decided to scrap some pictures of my daughter picking up fruits at my parent’s orchard. Both the “Patio party” and “My Bright Life” collections have some cute strawberries, watermelons and cherries as embellishments, so it was easy to match this theme.

I created a dreamy, watercolor background and added a composition made of few pattern papers. It was a fast and easy job. You can follow my creative process by watching the video I recorded for you HERE.

It was a pleasure to be here with you. If you want to stay in touch with me, you can follow me on Instagram.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Happy 2019! I wish you all much happiness, health and prosperity for the New Year!

2018 saw the release of so many gorgeous collections for Pebbles, but my very favorite would have to be the bright and beautiful Jen Hadfield: Patio Party. Just beautiful!

So, just before we reveal the first of many stunning new lines for 2019, let’s take another look at this wonderful collection!

Today I am sharing a very sweet & fun scrapbook layout’

“Smile”

Oh isn’t this pretty?!!

Such a beautiful page that really draws on all the gorgeous florals and blooms in both my photo, & the Patio Party collection! Love it!

Here’s a closer look for you….

Sigh! This is soooooooo pretty!

I have featured the beautiful Backyard Blooms pattern paper as both the layout base and ‘border’, and then used this very same pattern in the 6 x 6 size to back my silly selfie photo with! The repeat patterning creates unity within my design, and pulls everything ‘together’. As it is such a busy pattern paper, I avoid adding other designs or patterns and instead, opt for lots of complimentary embellishments to support my photo with.

How pretty are all those blooms?!

You’ll spy them in Die Cut Ephemera, Dimensional Stickers, Puffy Stickers and even the 6 x 12 Accent Stickers – so many beautiful embellishments to create layers and interest with!

Just look at those layers!!! All the heart eyes for these pretty details!

With all those bright, pop colors & layered blooms, I feature the Wood Stickers to create balance in my design. The strong, rectangular shape combined with the dark wood grain offer a hint of masculinity and structure to this otherwise girly page.

I use the gold Puffy Sticker, Smile for my title – perfect for my selfie!

For finishing touches, I add a little watercolor paint and splatter droplets to complete my lovely page!

Time Saver Tips | Butterflies Scrapbooking Layout

Hi everyone. Heather Leopard is here with a multi-dimensional butterflies scrapbooking layout! This was super fun and it was super easy to put together. While it was relatively quick to create in about an hour to an hour and a half, the speed scrappers could forgo the multiple layers and sewing and really whip this out quickly. Let’s take a look and I’ll share some TIME SAVER TIPS…
Dream Big Butterfly scrapbooking layout by @HeatherLeopard using @PebblesInc #PatioParty collection #madewithpebbles #scrapbooking #scrapbook #butterfly #dreambig #paigeevans

To make this layout really come to life, this butterflies scrapbooking page includes mixed media, a die cut, layers of die cut “fillers” and machine stitching!

Let’s get started

I knew the page was going to be slightly busy so I chose a patterned paper background that was a bit more simple.  I wanted to wash it out just a bit more so I applied white gesso. Once dry, I added teal and gold mist that I sprayed and dabbed around the page using plastic packaging material. TIME SAVER TIP: skip this step and save on drying time. Just make sure to avoid a busy background for a more appealing design.

While the background dried, I cut the butterfly cut file from Paige Evans out of white cardstock. Although it’s quite subtle, I applied clear gesso and pink spray to the white butterfly cardstock once it was cut out. While that was drying, I disassembled the cut file and cut the inside “fillers” out of multiple patterned papers. I cut double the amount needed so I could double layer many of them, as seen in the photo above. TIME SAVER TIP: save time by not adding the additional gesso over the die cut and only cutting one layer of butterflies.

I applied the butterfly cut file only in the middle because I wanted the cut file to lift up here and there. I knew I’d be stitching over it soon enough anyway.  I then added the butterflies to the background with just a little dab of liquid adhesive so they’d stay in place in the sewing machine. I stitched each and every butterfly; some as a straight stitch and others with a zig zag. TIME SAVER TIP: adhere the butterflies with more adhesive and skip the sewing.

Lift the butterfly wings up to reveal the multiple levels. The butterfly cut file lifts ever so slightly, then the bottom wing lifts to reveal the background pattern and the top wings lift to reveal the lower wings! I suggest adding foam adhesive under the wings to keep them popped up.

Next, I added my photo. I kept layers around it to a minimum because hello….butterfly layers galore! Then I finished it off with a title, a few more butterflies here and there around the page and journaling.

Stitching on a Scrapbook Layout with Terhi

Hey there Pebbles Fans, it’s Terhi here sharing some scrapbook-love around the globe! I often find myself scrolling through social media and feel so inspired by all the wonderful scrapbookers and other crafters. This time the scrolling lead me to Paige Evans’ new Facebook group called ‘Paige Evans – Happy Scrappy Place‘ where Paige herself is sharing inspiration, hosting challenges and sharing free cut files every week.

I picked up this wonderful flower bunch cut file, said thank you to Paige, and cut it out using my favorite hot pink patterned paper from Patio Party collection.

Thinking of several ways to use the cut file on the layout, backing it, using it as a stencil or then let it be as it is, I finally came up with an idea of stitching it on the background! If you haven’t used your sewing machine for a while I personally recommend something easier to start with, but of course I found myself doing this tricky cut file and in the end it took one and half hour to finish the job. But it was worth it!

To make sure the hard work of stitching will be visible, I kept the other thread dark brown. This way it peek just a bit from each hole on the layout, and the stitching can be seen much easier.

The bloomy background was wonderful way to start this layout of my younger girl who’s first year in school is about to end. Something to celebrate! There’s some patterned papers making layers behind the photo, and some sweet embellishment like the dimensional butterflies.

Hope you’ll try out stitching on a layout, it’s fun! Thank you so much for coming here today and have a happy day!

Terhi xx

Quick Summer Mini Album

Hello everyone! It’s Eva Pizarro on the blog today sharing a quick Summer Mini Album that I made with the lovely Patio Party collection.

Create a quick Summer Mini Album in minutes with this tutorial from @evapizarrov using @pebblesinc new line #PatioParty #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc

I don’t know about you, but during the summer I never have time to scrap or document my week! I spend most of the time outside playing with my son. When I finally have some “me” time, it is late and I am exhausted from all the activities we did during the day!

This year, I want to document some of the things we do.  To help me do that, I created this quick Summer Mini Album. I plan to fill it with journaling and Instax pictures during our summer adventures.

To create the Summer Mini Album, I punched some 3×4 inch squares from the patterned papers with my Square Punch Board. I love this tool because it doesn’t leave any scraps!

I also cut some 3×4 cards from this patterned paper and used my Corner Chomper to round all the edges.

Next, I used my Cinch to bind my Summer Mini Album. Very easy!

I included some decorations to the mini album, like some tags from this patterned paper and some die cuts and wood stickers.

I really like how the patterned papers mix with the 3×4 cards. I tried my best to leave one page embellished and one page blank.

My Summer Mini Album is ready to be filled with photos and lots of fun memories!

Do you ever scrap ahead? I think it is great to document a trip or our most busy times of the year!
