Quick Gift: Circle Inspired Pumpkin Surprise

Happy fall, y’all!  Heather Leopard is here with a tutorial for this quick pumpkin surprise gift trio. I love the thought of giving circle shaped gifts.  These are fun gifts for classmates, co-workers, house guests, and more..

Give Thanks Pumpkin Surprise Gifts

These little cuties can be made in minutes with just a few supplies. Let’s take a look at what you’ll need.

Give Thanks Pumpkin Surprise Gifts

  • 12×12 Pattern Paper – at least one pattern or an assortment
  • 12×12 paper pad
  • Clear gift bags
  • Twine, ribbon or thread
  • Scissors
  • Paper Trimmer

First thing you’ll do is cut 1/4″ x 12″ inch strips of paper.  You’ll need 6 for each pumpkin.  Then, bend them in a circle, starting with the base in the middle and work your way around until almost all of the pumpkin is filled.  Staple the rings in place. You can also use a brad to connect the rings but I like using a stapler so the rings don’t move around, which may cause the candy treats to fall out.

Now that almost all the rings are complete, insert a bag of candy inside and then staple the last strip in place.

Next, cut some leaves, or use die cuts. Add to the top with twine and a cute little sentiment. I simply made a few loopy bows and stapled them to the top and added the leaves with  liquid adhesive.

Give Thanks Pumpkin Surprise Gifts

Last but not least are the “give thanks” sentiments!  I was planning to give these to family at Thanksgiving but my daughters asked if they could give these to their teachers. I guess it’s a good thing these are so quick and easy to make!

DIY Fall Welcome Sign

Hey there Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here. Fall is officially here!! I’m so excited to share this DIY Fall welcome sign I created using the Warm & Cozy collection. To me this collection is cabins, quilts, flannel shirts, and a huge cup of hot chocolate. I wanted to create something that looked like a quilt for this welcome sign.  I started by cutting a lot of hexagons from scraps that I had from previous projects from the Warm & Cozy collection. I used a large punch but you could use an electronic die cut machine, manual die cut machine, or a template.

I used a 5×7 frame so I adhered the hexagons to a piece of 5×7 cardstock. Then I stitched around each hexagon with my sewing machine. This step took a lot of time. I questioned if this step was worth it, but it really was worth it!

I think this detailed step made a HUGE difference in the final project. I LOVE the detail of the stitching.

I added the “welcome” sentiment with foam adhesive. I did have to cut some of the foam adhesive so they would fit under the “welcome” sticker.DIY Fall Welcome Sign by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc using the Warm & Cozy collection by @tatertotsandjello #DIY #FALL #Fallhomedecor #pebblesinc #warmandcozy

Here’s the final product! I can’t wait to display this DIY Fall welcome sign with the rest of my Fall home decor. I love the quilted background. It’s the perfect touch for any Fall home decor.

I added foam adhesive to make the “welcome” pop off the background but you could easily place the sticker right on the background and place sign behind a piece of glass in a frame. Even with all the machine stitching I had this project done in less than an hour. What Fall projects are you working on with the Warm & Cozy collection? You should try creating DIY Fall Welcome sign.

Paper Succulents

Hello everyone! Amanda here today. One of my favorite ways to use paper is to make plants and planters. They are easy to make and require no maintenance. Just my type of plant!

Luckily for you and me, succulents are still trending, and it is no wonder why. They are cute, exotic, small, and easy to care for. Whether or not you have a green thumb, you can brighten up your space by making some paper succulents in no time. Upcycle some cans by wrapping them in some bright gold foiled papers and you’ll have some superb decor on your hands.

Gold foiled specialty papers from Pebbles are my favorite for making home decor items. I used two different papers and wrapped them around this regular ol’ can to create a bright and trendy succulent “planter”.

Have fun with the colors of your succulents. Create an off-beat color scheme or one that matches your decor. That’s the beauty of creating paper plants. Using textured cardstock gives the plants a more life-like feel, too.

These gold polka dots are my favorite. My favorite pencil cup is wrapped in the exact same paper. To make this Christmas cactus, die cut two of each piece and adhere on both sides of a narrow gauge floral wire. This will allow you to bend and twist the limbs until they are just right.

Plant your paper succulents in a container full of rice. It makes it easy to rearrange your plants and the weight of the rice holds the container in place. Want more fun ideas for upcycling or repurposing cans? Click HERE or stop by the Pebbles Blog and search “upcycle” in the search bar.
Have a great day!
Amanda

Simple DIY Glitter Decor

Hi friends! Happy New Year! It’s Amy from The Happy Scraps here today, and I’m excited to share this Simple DIY Glitter Decor that I put together to display in my craft room. We recently moved into a new home where I have a dedicated crafting space, so I was so excited to create this piece to hang in the craft room.

Add bling to your creative space with this glittered "Create" decor with the tutorial from @thehappyscraps on the @pebblesinc blog using the #diyhome collection.

What better word to hang in a creative space than “create”? You’ll just need a few supplies to create this project. The items pictured below from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home Collection, adhesive, and ribbon.

Add bling to your creative space with this glittered "Create" decor with the tutorial from @thehappyscraps on the @pebblesinc blog using the #diyhome collection.

Start out by trimming your Floral w/Gold Foil paper down to fit the size of the wood backing of the layered frames.

Using the Sticky Thumb PVA Glue, spread a fair amount out on your frame backing. Use a foam brush to smooth out the glue, entirely covering the board.

Place your paper on the board, and use a vinyl squeegee, credit card, or something similar to smooth the paper, making sure there aren’t any bubbles under it.

Next, trace the smaller decorative frame onto the Gold Foil Stripe paper. Only trace the outer edge, then cut it out.

Using the same gluing technique as above, glue the paper to the frame, covering the hole in the middle. Using some adhesive dots, attach your glittered “create” to the front of the frame.

Have you ever used a cordless glue gun? Talk about a life changer, this thing is amazing! Anyway, turn on your Sticky Thumb Cordless Glue Gun, and let it warm up. Once warm, use it to attach the gold decorated frame to the frame backing.

Choose some ribbon that goes with your project, and using the glue gun, attach it to the top corners on the back, then tie your ribbon.

Add bling to your creative space with this glittered "Create" decor with the tutorial from @thehappyscraps on the @pebblesinc blog using the #diyhome collection.

Isn’t this such a fun and pretty piece for any creative space? Whether you have a whole room, or just a corner in a room in your home, this is perfect to hang in the space.

And isn’t the glitter on the word “create” just perfect? There was no glitter mess needed to create it either. 😉

Easy 3D Paper Pumpkins

Hello Pebbles fans! Amanda here today sharing just a little bit of my love for pumpkin decor. There are so many reasons I love to decorate my home with pumpkins in the fall. Not only are they widely available and inexpensive, but they are suitable for all of the Fall holidays. Pumpkins left over from Halloween can easily make their way through Thanksgiving.

Paper pumpkin home decor is no different from the fresh gourds you find at your local market. Pumpkin crafts done right can stick around all fall. These pumpkins are currently looking pretty on my side table, but will make a nice Thanksgiving centerpiece next month. BONUS: 3D paper pumpkins easily pack flat and can be used in the years to come. Just fluff them up and they’re ready to go.

A rustic just twine bow on the top of each pumpkin adds a bit of pretty contrast to the modern colors and prints in the DIY Home collection.

And how ’bout those paper straw stems? It doesn’t get any easier than that. Simply cut the straw and place it in the center of the pumpkin. So easy.

Easy 3D Paper Pumpkins by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc DIY Home collection

Each 3D pumpkin is made with several die cuts. If you are using digital die cuts, choose pumpkin shapes that are perfectly symmetrical otherwise the folded pieces won’t line up. I usually use about 12 die cuts per pumpkin as this makes them look full. TECH TIP: You can create symmetrical die cut by digitally cutting an asymmetrical pumpkin in half using die cutting software. Copy one half, flip the image and weld the two sides together.

After you have folded all of the pumpkin pieces, adhere the halves together creating a small stack. Apply adhesive to one side of the stack and adhere it to the other side to create the 3D pumpkin.

Happy Fall!
