Holiday Gift Tags

The time spent wrapping a gift and getting it ready to go under the tree can be almost as important as the time spent shopping for it. This week, we’ll be showcasing a variety of holiday gift tags to inspire your gift wrapping this season.

Becky Williams is kicking off the week with a variety of specially designed gift tags.

For me this really is the “most wonderful time of the year” and I really enjoy getting to put together little gifts for friends, neighbors and family.

I used a basic tag shape in kraft and white cardstock as the backdrop for my tags and then decorated them with ribbons, twine, diecut shapes and stickers. Some I kept more simple and others I jazzed up with spray mists to make each one unique.

I also made some treat bags with a Silhouette cut file by Lori Whitlock and used an assortment of Xyron products for these projects.

We use a lot of cards this time of year…holiday cards, gift giving cards and tags, thank you cards…The list goes on. Who wouldn’t love to receive a handmade gift card collection beautifully boxed and already to go? Stick around and see how Design Team Member Wendy Antenucci created a special holiday gift for her neighbor.

We’ve been making lots of cards lately and I’ve been saving them up for the perfect holiday gift…See, I have a neighbor two doors down that loves to send little notes, so I decided to make a gift set with some of the cards I’ve made.

I started by recycling the Project Life box that Studio Calico sends their kits in. After removing the insert, it was the perfect size to hold 4×6 cards and envelopes.

First I needed to sand the smooth layer off the box – don’t skip this step because your paper will peel right off the smooth surface – I know!

I then used mod podge style glue to cover the sides of my box with the pretty Pebbles papers. I chose a book paper from the Front Porch collection for the sides so that it would look like a book.

I adhered a doily (one of my favorite supplies) to the front and used wet glue to adhere the ribbon. A few foam squares gave my framed sentiment just the right height to take center stage.

I used some of the twine to tie my cards together and now I have a perfect little gift for my neighbor without any cost! Thanks Xyron for the chance to play with your adhesives!

Snowman Treat Bag

Looking for a cute gift for a co-worker or friend? Design Team Member Renee Zwirek has you covered with the adorable snowman treat bag she’s sharing on the site today.

I made a sweet treat bag decorated with a cool and shimmery snowman for my sweet neighbors.

This treat bag has a window so that they can see the fun treats inside. I added candy, but you can fill the bag with homemade cookies, or a mini hot chocolate kit, maybe an ornament for their tree, or even a set of holiday themed hand towels.

Strong adhesive made my pretty paper bag came together so nicely.

To make my snowman come alive, I used lots of pretty products.

I especially loved using the Xyron Create-a-Sticker machine. It was perfect for even the smallest items.

What I found difficult when using this machine, though, is that it seemed to attract my girls. They would hover around my every move while I used it (you just can’t see them in my photos because I cropped them out of them). LOL! Of course I let them help, the sticker machine is so easy to use.

DIY Feather Headband

With the current feather and tribal trend, when would be a better time than this Thanksgiving to dress your kids (or yourself!) with one of these? Especially when our beautiful paper from Pebbles are screaming to be cut into feathers?

First thing first, let’s make the headband. Cut paper to 3.5” wide with the length you need. (I left mine at 12”.) Score at 1” and 2-1/4” as shown:
