Hi Friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a fun little project that’s perfect for a New Year’s organization project! Do you have lots of handmade cards just sitting in a box or basket? I sure did…and every time I needed a card, it took a while to dig through the stack to find the right one. Not anymore! And it took less than an hour to put this project together! This is my new card station:
And here’s how easy it was to create!
First, find a box. I found this one at TJ Maxx – my favorite place to shop for all of my organization baskets, bins, and boxes…I always snag items I see potential for. This is one I bought about a year ago and it’s been patiently waiting in my storage room for it’s chance to be incorporated into my life! 😉
The little label holder was already on the box, so I just trimmed down a little card piece from the DIY Home Collection and slid it in. If the box you find doesn’t have the label holder, don’t worry – the DIY Home Collection has coordinating metal label holders you can add!
Next, I pulled out this awesome recipe card/file die and cut several 4×6 pieces from various patterned papers in the DIY Home collection.
I printed off some small labels to separate the themes of my cards, trimmed them, and glued them right onto the patterned dividers.
Aren’t they fun?!?
I started filing my cards, by theme, and realized I had a small problem – the tabs started getting lost between the cards.
No problem though, I added these cute gold clips to differentiate the dividers from the cards.
That’s better! I added envelopes to one of the other sections of the box:
And the final section will hold blank tags, for now. I plan to fill it up with additional cards soon though!
And that’s my new card organization system – I think it’s going to be fabulous!
How do YOU organize your cards?
