Quick and Easy Round Mother’s Day Cards

Hi Pebbles friends! Mother’s Day is just around the corner – have you made a card yet? No? Well, I’ve got a quick and easy idea for you today! It’s Wendy Sue here today and I’d love to help inspire you to whip up a quick and easy card or two or three for a special mom or mother figure in your life!

Don’t let shaped cards intimidate you – they really are quite easy! Here’s a quick step-by-step photo tutorial to show you how I made these!

Step 1: Start by folding the card base (cardstock). Use a metal die (this is just one way to do it – you could also use a digital die-cutting machine or even trace a circle onto white cardstock and cut out with scissors) circle shape. Place the die onto the folded cardstock so the top of the die isn’t cutting the cardstock – this will leave room for the fold at the top of the card (or the side if you prefer):

Step 2: Cut a circle the same size from patterned paper:

Step 3: Tie a ribbon around the patterned paper and tie in a knot at the left side. I used a staple to secure the ribbon right in the center because I will be covering it soon.

Step 4: Tuck a printed die-cut under the ribbon on the right side of the patterned circle. Allow it to extend off the circle a bit.

Step 5: Now cut a smaller circle from a coordinating patterned paper. For this circle, choose a pattern that is less busy, or a smaller pattern scale. Use foam adhesive squares to attach it to the center of floral circle (covering the staple.

Step 6: Choose your favorite skinny thicker sticker to add the letters to spell out “MOM” on the small circle.

Step 7: Now you can choose to add a “MOM” next to the word. You could also opt to add additional flowers, stickers, or even center “MOM” and leave it alone. But I think these cute girls look like they could be fun young moms, so I’m adding them! 😉

Step 8: Attach the patterned circle to the card base! That’s it! Wasn’t it so easy?

Gift box for Mother’s Day

Hello crafty friends it’ Lucile ! Today I find you for a new creation. I suggest you make a gift box for Mother’s Day. I used the collection “Loves me” to realize my box. I love this collection and I think it’s perfect for Mother’s Day! This box will allow you to slip a small gift or a card for your mother. Of course you can adapt this idea to any occasion.

To begin, I cut all the pieces to build my box in cardboard. I then assembled them with framing tape. I strengthened it so that it is solid.

Then I created my drawer. I cut a half circle in the front to make it easier to open. I covered my entire box with a paper from the collection. I did the same for my drawer also covering the interior so that it looks nicer when it is opened. To cover my box I use double-sided tape and my fold, you can also use liquid glue if you prefer.

Finally I decorated the top of my box. I pasted a paper with 3D foams to add volume. Then I wrote “mother” in the center with the alphabet of the collection. I add stickers and ephemera on the side by putting them below and above the paper. Finally I added “happy day”.

All you have to do is slip a little present in the drawer! I hope that this idea of gift box will have pleased you, I will find you soon for a new creation!

Mothers Day moments and more with Guest Suzanna Lee!

Hi Pebbles fans! I am honored to be guest designing for Pebbles this month. My name is Suzanna and I have two layouts to share with you today, one for Mother’s Day and the other for everyday.  Both were created using the bright and festive Patio Party collection! This collection from Jen Hadfield is just stunning with the bright colors and bits of gold scattered through out!

Guest designer Susanna Lee shares her scrappy skills with us just in time for Mother's Day!

This first layout is fitting for the holiday happening this weekend, Mothers Day! This layout uses a digital cut file from the Silhouette store which becomes the decorative center piece of the layout. Flowers from the collection, both dimensional and stickers, add color to the circular wreath while the creased flowers and layering add dimension and movement.

Guest designer Susanna Lee shares her scrappy skills with us just in time for Mother's Day!

I like to be able to use the alphas/Thickers that accompany collections but am inclined to make my titles less generic, per se. I used “Happy Day” phrase and just inserted Mothers to make the title fitting to the layout. The letters for “Mother” were cut using a Big Kick but you could also use a digital cutting machine or letter stickers.

The brown and white strip at the top of the layout just grounds the layout and provides a bit more visual interest to the page.

Should you be of the process video inclination, you can see this layout come together here;

This second layout uses some of the left-over leaves from the first. I was inspired by a graphic design I saw on Pinterest but can no longer find. It too had “summer” going down the page as I have with foliage in amongst the letters.

The word “summer” was cut using my Silhouette in two different patterned papers from the 12×12 pad then overlapped slightly to give a shadow effect. Some of the letters are popped up on pop dots to provide some depth to the layout.

I could have used fussy cut flowers from one of the patterned papers, however, I really only wanted yellow flowers.  I then used a multi-layer stamp set for the larger flowers that are interspersed among the letters. Stickers from the collection are scattered amongst the letters to create a garden scene.

One of the lovely golden puffy stickers completes the title for “Hello Summer”.

Early next week, this process video will be available for viewing on my personal YouTube channel.

Thank you Pebbles for the honor of guest designing! If you enjoyed my projects please be sure to visit out my personal social media sites for additional inspiration.

Is anyone else shocked to see that Mother’s Day is just a few days away?  Wasn’t it JUST Christmas???? Don’t worry, I’m here with a quick and easy homemade card idea sure to please your mom! Here’s a peek!  Keep reading to see how to create your own butterfly shaped card featuring the beautiful products from the “Patio Party” collection!  (And if you’re more prepared than I am, and already have your cards for Mother’s Day, simply change the letters and use these cards for any occasion!)

Quick and Easy Butterfly Shaped Mother's Day Cards by @WendySue with the "Patio Party" collection by @PebblesInc.

Start by creating a butterfly shaped card base.  You can use a digital cut file, a metal die, or even find a simple template online and cut it out by hand!

Cut a piece of patterned paper to cover the front of the card base. Choose a coordinating paper and cut a second patterned butterfly. Cut it in half and place the top piece over the striped base:

Use one of the tear strips from a different paper to create the border strip between the two patterned papers:

Add a gold foiled die cut on top of the border strip:

Place a butterfly sticker or die cut next to the flowers.  Be sure to glue only the middle piece, so the wings are lifted off the card:

Begin making your DIY Mother’s Day gift by adding all ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl; stir together until well blended.  If you choose to use multiple scents, mix everything but the oils together. Split the mixture into separate smaller bowls.
