Hi Everyone! It’s Leanne here and believe it or not, it’s that time of the year where we are either starting to bring together our gift giving ideas or are already well under way with the organisation of it all! It you are a little like me, and often find yourself looking for last minute gift ideas, more often than not, I seek out gift cards for my impossible-to-buy-for friends! But to make the giving more special, I love to create gift card holders with gorgeous patterned papers and embellishments.

This year I am creating with the Holly Jolly collection 6×6 mini paper pad and the die cut paper embellishments. Don’t these papers have just the cutest designs ever?!

To create the mini envelope/gift card holders, you will also need the We R Memorykeepers envelope punch board. Simply follow the instructions on the board using a 5″x5″ piece of patterned paper from the mini paper pad.

To personalise the envelope for my gift giving purposes, I have also chosen the mini cut apart patterned paper for contrast. It will also be used to ground any die cut embellishments to the envelope base.

Once you have created your envelope, embellishment is limited only to your imagination!

Here are three fun examples that are very easy to recreate!

Card 1 | Oh Christmas Tree

Create your own gift card envelopes with @PebblesInc #hollyjollychristmas as shown by @leanne_allinson

step 1. Create mini envelope using the “tree” pattern from the paper pad.

step 2. Add the Christmas Tree die cut embellishment to the right side of the envelope front.

step 3. Round the edges of a mini cut apart saying and layer on top of the tree die cut.

step 4. Add foam tape to the Holly Jolly Christmas label die cut and layer on to the envelope to complete the card holder.

Card 2 | Candy Canes

pebbles_leanne-allinson_dec-gift_gift-card-holders_card-2_detail-1

step 1. Create the mini envelope with the “polka dot” pattern from the paper pad.

step 2. Trim two pieces of contrasting patterned paper, one slightly smaller than the other, and round the corners. Layer the smaller pieces on top of the larger patterned paper and adhere to the front of the gift card holder.

step 3. Using a flower die cut and two candy cane paper embellishments, layer to arrange so that each piece overlaps. Add foam tape to the back of the die cut pieces and adhere to the front of the gift card holder.

step 4.  On a mini paper tag, use a precision pen to draw around the outside edge to create a name label and adhere to the envelope.

Card 3 | Making Spirits Bright

step 1. Before folding and adhering the envelope together, trim two pieces of patterned paper at 0.75″  wide. Carefully add a slit measuring the same width on the fold lines, to allow the paper to be threaded inside the envelope.

step 2. Fold and adhere the paper strips to the inside before securing the envelope shape.

step 3. Create a bow (also using the envelope punch board) and add it to the cross point of the paper strips.

step 4. Ink the edges of a mini paper tag and the cut apart saying then tuck each piece beneath the bow to complete the gift card holder embellishment.

Each gift card holder you make can now be personalised easily with these ideas as your guide! And hopefully your gift giving season will be more joyful because of it. Thanks for visiting..x

Baby Shower Gift

We’re closing out our week featuring mini envelope projects. We’ve had lots of fun sharing them with you and hope you’ve found some inspiration. For our final feature, Designer Laurel Seabrook is showcasing a fun baby shower gift that she created using mini envelopes.

Mini Envelopes

Hi everyone, Laurel here.  I have a fun baby shower gift that I created for my daughter who is expecting a baby girl in September.  A few years ago I created a similar project for husband for our anniversary (a prepaid date per month) and my daughter really loved it.  She is not going to have a lot of extra cash so I thought she would be able to use anything to help her out.

I had this wooden box in my stash, picked it up at a garage sale.

I used some pattern paper from Garden Party to cover the box, then finished off the seams with some Washi Tape.  As a final touch I added a journal card and sticker to the front.

Inside are 12 mini envelopes.  One for each month, starting with September.  I will insert some gift cards (Wal-Mart, Drug Store, Grocery Store, Tim Horton’s etc.) inside each little envelope so that she will be able to either treat herself now and then, or purchase some much needed supplies.

I just added bits and pieces from Garden Party and Special Delivery Girl to embellish the envelopes and then adhered a month sticker.

I hope she likes it and I also hope that this gives you some inspiration on how to use our mini envelopes!

Mini Envelope Money Holder

Are you enjoying the fun mini envelope projects we’ve been sharing? Today Designer Samantha Taylor is joining us to share a fun mini envelope money holder. This project is great for birthday cards, graduation and fun summer gifts.

My nieces and nephews are starting to get older, so we often give them money for their birthdays.  We like to come up with fun ways to give them their money (last year we gave my nephew his all in nickles).  For my nephew’s upcoming birthday I wanted to make a money holder card that is a little bit different, so I came up with this mini envelope money holder.Mini envelope money holder via @samanthajt for @PebblesInc using the #BirthdayWishes collection. #graduation #birthday #card #handmade
I started by creating a card base that, instead of being folded in half, has a 1/4″ spine to it.  My card base measures 5 1/2″ x 8 3/4″ and is scored at 4 1/4″ and 4 1/2″.  Then I folded my card and decorate the front of my card just like I would any card, using the super fun new Birthday Wishes collection.

The inside is where this card really gets different.  I grabbed 5 mini envelopes, scored those envelopes at 1/4″, and then attached the 1/4″ score area to the 1/4″ spine of my card.

I attached 5 envelopes in all to card.  You could do less envelopes than that, but I wouldn’t suggest doing more.  I used some stickers and die cut shapes to decorate the front sides of the mini envelopes, and put money inside each of the envelopes.  To make this extra fun, you could put different denominations in each envelope.  Alternately, you could stuff the envelopes with love notes, movie tickets, or IOU coupons.  Mini envelope money holder via @samanthajt for @PebblesInc using the #BirthdayWishes collection. #graduation #birthday #card #handmade
Because this card is thicker than a normal card, I’ve created a special box envelope for this card.

Handmade Hello Cards

Mini envelopes make a great embellishment. We love the way Laura Craigie has incorporated them into her cheerful handmade hello cards.

Mini Envelopes

I’ve always loved the mini envelopes by Pebbles, and while I love using them as intended, I also love using them as an embellishment. So I decided to make two cards today using supplies from the Garden Party line, and used two different envelopes, one on each card.

For my first card I adhered it to the card upside down, and added a patterned paper liner to the inside flap of the envelope.  It was a great way to ground all the other embellishments and sentiment I added to my card.

My second card again uses the envelope as an embellishment, and I added a tag that looks like it’s popping out as the base for my sentiment made with those pretty floral thickers.
