Dinosaur Themed Birthday Party

Today, Design Team Member Marjan Pel shows us how to decorate for any little boy’s dream birthday party. She’s put together party decor, games, and treat bags and tags all using the Birthday Wishes collection. Read on to check it out.

Birthday Wishes Logo

My youngest son turned seven at the end of June, and he wanted a dinosaur themed birthday party. We invited his whole class. All children at that age love dinosaurs, even girls. So I used all sorts of colors like blue, green, black, pink, orange and yellow. The Birthday Wishes paperpad was just perfect for the banner, the treats and bottle hangers. I made a fun can knock down game too.

The perforated paper shapes in the form of banners are just perfect for a birthday party. I embellished the banners with patterned paper and glitter paper and adhered two dinosaurs at both ends. For the bottle hangers, I cut out a bunch of different cute dinosaurs with the help of my Silhouette SD. I used two different circle punches and a border punch by American Crafts to create these fun tags.

I used old cans for the can knock down game. I adhered pretty paper in different, pretty, and colourful designs with double-sided adhesive and I used some washi tape in cute colors to embellish the cans. Then I adhered different dinosaurs and punched circles with glitter numbers  from 1 to 6.

For the treats I made some file folder candy holders with help of my envelope punch board. I embellished these candy holders with circles and more cute dinosaurs. I used baker´s twine to close them.

The children at the birthday party loved the bottles with lemonade, and the can knockdown game was quite popular.

The girls loved the pink ones and the boys were happy with the other colors. All in all, it was a perfect birthday party and we had a fun day!

Using Rub-Ons in a Scrapbook Layout

Great use of rub-ons in a scrapbook layout. Created by @scrappymermaid for @PebblesInc #scrapbooking #summerPebbles Rub-Ons are quickly becoming one of the more popular items in our collection line ups. We love how Marjan Pel showcases using rub-ons in a scrapbook layout. What do you think? Do you like using them?

Rub Ons

Way back in 2006 when I started with scrapbooking you could buy a lot of rub-ons made by different scrapbook companies, they were very modern at that time and I used them a lot on my pages. Several years later rub-ons have become trendy again.

Pebbles has some awesome rub-ons in some of the collections. I especially love the gold ones, they are sophisticated and look really stylish. Rub-ons look cool on cards, but you can use them on scrapbook layouts too and they are so easy to use. You can use them on photos and on paper.

On this scrapbook layout I wanted to use a whole bunch of rub-ons to make a cool background for an older photo of my two boys.

I used some coordinating Project Life cards and a printed glassine bag to frame the photo. I used a 4×6 Project Life card for a hidden journaling.

I embellished the page with different kind of stars. I love the look of this scrapbook page and definitely will use more often rub-ons on my scrapbook layouts.

Summer Scrapbook Layout

Are you ready for summer yet? If not perhaps this fun grid-style summer scrapbook layout created by Designer Marjan Pel will do the trick! We love the way she’s mixed patterned paper up for a fun look.

Summer

Last summer we had this beach vacation in the Netherlands. Zandvoort aan Zee is one of the major beach resorts of the Netherlands. It has a long sandy beach, bordered by coastal dunes. The kids loved it there! They played in the sand all day long. We had a lot of warm and sunny days during this summer vacation and we spent most of the time at the beach.

Summer beach layout created by @scrappymermaid for @PebblesInc #scrapbooking #summer #beach

I wanted to scrap a fun scrapbook page about one day at the beach. First I cut my normal sized 4 x 6 pictures into squares because I wanted to use an easy grid design for my page. I used several yellow and blue designed patterned papers from different collections to make some sunburst cards.

I sewed vellum squares on 3 of them to give it an eclectic look.

I embellished the scrapbook layout with coordinating stickers and golden rub-ons. To give some of these embellishments a bit of a dimension I used little foam adhesives. The gold of some of the stickers and rub-ons remembers me of the color of the sun. For me sun is not only yellow, but has different shades of yellow and gold!

I just love summer and when I look at this scrapbook page I really can remember those warm and sunny days at the beach from Zandvoort aan Zee!

Travel Mini Album

Mini albums always get such a warm reception from our fans. We suspect today’s gorgeous travel mini album put together by Design Team Member Marjan Pel will be no exception. It’s a great reminder of her amazing trip!

PB_GardenParty

Today I want to share my latest travel mini album about my trip to Valencia in Spain last year.

Travel mini album created by @scrappymermaid for @PebblesInc using the #GardenParty collection #scrapbooking #travel

When I created this mini album I had a certain color scheme in mind. I wanted to use pastel colors and for a bigger contrast I needed black and white patterns too. The papers from the “Garden Party” line were just perfect for this job.

I used the pockets, inserts  and die-cuts that come with the line to create the pages. The clothes pins, Thickers and the enamel dots give the project a little bit of dimension.

I took a lot of pictures in Valencia but I only wanted to use instagram photos for this travel mini album. I printed the photos with a white border and embellished them with some Basics washi tape in colors which coordinate with the papers.

I love stitching on paper projects lately so I stitched some cute arrows and a heart with the help of some Amy Tan stencils by American Crafts on some of the pages.

I am really happy with the result and want to make more cute travel mini albums as I love to travel to all the cool cities in Europe. I will visit Vienna in May and will go to Paris in July!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Pebbles friends! We’re so excited to be well into March and enjoying a bit of spring weather here in Utah that we’re kicking off a week of fun spring-inspired posts!

Today Designer Marjan Pel is kicking our sweet celebration off with a fun spring gift box that we know you’re going to love!

Spring

Today I want to show you a gift box for my best friend here in Norway, who will go back to Germany in april. She loves gardening very much and will move to a house with a big garden.

Spring memory box created by @scrappymermaid using @PebblesInc Garden Party collection #papercraft #craft #spring

I made an accordion card with the cardmaking pad.

Spring memory box created by @scrappymermaid using @PebblesInc Garden Party collection #papercraft #craft #spring

This pad is just perfect for cards. I adhered on every other side of this card a library pocket of cardstock which I made with an envelope punch board.

I made also some cute coin envelopes with that same punch board. The coin envelopes contain seeds and tiny bulbs of spring flowers and they fit precisely in the library pockets. You can see how I make these library pockets and coin envelopes here.

Behind every coin envelope I put a journaling card with the description for each kind of flower.

I embellished the pages with coordinating  tiny clothes pins, journaling cards and die cuts from the collection. I adhered the die cuts with foam dots to give them a bit dimension.
