Super Easy Envelope Cards | Terhi

Hi Friends! Terhi here with a super simple but very creative idea for your next cards to make.

Sunny summer starts soon and as usual, I want to make sure I have couple of spare cards to give away if needed. And I like the cards to be themed with the ongoing season. Therefore, Sun and Fun papers and embellishments are playing the main role with these cards.

To create a simple envelope, I used We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. It’s very easy to use and in just a couple of minutes I had envelope in my hands just in a size I wanted to.

In order to use the envelope both as a card and an envelope, I didn’t add any adhesives. To replace glue and all other permanent attachments, I only added some washi tapes to close the envelopes. This way the receiver can open it, read it, and again close it.

The front sides of the envelopes are decorated with Sun and Fun ephemera and couple of layered flowers I had left from creating a wreath (link).

To make the cards matching any occasion I chose to use sentiments like “Hooray!” or “Hello there!”, as these are not preferring to specific celebrations. “Hellos” can be said any day, just to wish a happy day!

Finally to finish up the cards I added some fussy cut butterflies here and there. The butterflies and puffy dot stickers makes the perfect details for the lovely layered cards.

Hope you feel inspired!

Layered Flower Tutorial by Terhi

Hello everyone!
Terhi here to inspire you with a very simple and easy tutorial about layering paper flowers. I will explain it to you, and I also have a video tutorial for you to watch so you can see how it’s all done.

To be honest, I could spend a lifetime just cutting and layering paper. Unfortunately (well, actually fortunately!) that’s not possible, but I do spent a lot of time fussy cutting my favourite papers from Pebbles collections. Adding fussy cut flowers and other shapes to layouts is fun, but sometimes one flat piece of paper is not enough – and this is a problem this post answers.

Often the shapes and images you fussy cut are very detailed. And just as often our use of scissors isn’t as detailed and even as the image or shape. This could cause a problem, but what if you turn your thoughts from a problem to a free way of adding more interest to the layout?
Sounds much better to me!

To create those lovely layered flowers, which you can see in the photographs here, do this:
1. Fussy cut flowers. A lot!
2. Decide how many layers you want to have.
3. Attach two similar flowers together with a drop of glue or use thin 3D foam to avoid waiting the glue to dry.
4. Enjoy your masterpiece and use it in your next project!

The layout you see today is made with the gorgeous This is Family collection, but there are some flowers from previous lines as well.

Now take a look to the video. Here you can see how I make the flowers, and also full process of how the layout was created.

Watch the video here, if you can’t see it above:

Feel inspired? I hope you do!
Enjoy the tutorial above, and have fun creating lovely layered paper flowers!

Pebbles_Caraandme-1
Hello lovely Pebbles fans! Terhi Koskinen here with a fresh green scrapbook layout cherishing the memories of meeting long time online friend finally in real life.
Last spring I was invited to teach scrapbooking to Paris, and as my sweet friend Cara lives close to France, she took a train and traveled to meet me.Pebbles_Caraandme-2
Happy memories, as this is, needs to be scrapped with cheery colors, fun and happy elements. I chose my very favorite paper ‘Ferns’ from Patio Party collection and used my electric cutting machine to cut out lots of simple flowers and leaves. The cut files I used are free from internet, searching the word cut file via Google gives you thousands hits.
Pebbles_Caraandme-3
I started creating the layout by designing roughly were to set the photo, which title to use and how to use all the flowers. Then the idea of layered blooms came to me.
Pebbles_Caraandme-5
I took about four to six different sized flowers and glued them together adding the glue only to center of each one. Then I fold the petals a bit higher to make the layers visible. Couple of my first trials ended up to trash bin because I was too generous with the glue, but in the end I had eight big blooms to play with.
Pebbles_Caraandme-6
That’s not all for layering. I also picked up the Patio Party Ephemera pack and the Patio Party Dimensional Flower Stickers, and used them together to make a very dimensional vase, saying “Hello friend!”
Pebbles_Caraandme-8
Last but not least I wanted to raise up the embellishments with only one layer, too. I added Sticky Thumb Foam Dots under the butterfly, and also under the leaves. I’m almost addicted to have shadows and dimensional elements on my scrapbook pages!
Pebbles_Caraandme-9
Here you can see the adhering. These small dots are perfect to use, so tiny and the quality of the attachment is really good – sticky just as the name says.

Hope you find layering as fun as I do. Thank you so much for coming here today and have a happy weekend!

How To Create Layered Cards with The Simple Life

Creating layered cards is actually quite simple, and I’m excited to share my latest layered cards creations with you!  Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today and I have another fun project featuring the “Simple Life” collection by Jen Hadfield.  Layering is just a simple way to explain how to “build” a card.  Let’s take a look at my finished layered cards, then I’ll walk you through, step-by-step, each layer!  Here’s the finished product:

step-by-step instructions by @wendysuea for creating pretty layered cards with the "Simple Life" collection by @PebblesInc.

When you look at the card as a whole, it might seem like there is a lot going on…but it’s simple to achieve this look.  It’s especially easy if you choose products from one line, with all coordinating items.  Here’s what I used for these layered cards:

step-by-step instructions by @wendysuea for creating pretty layered cards with the "Simple Life" collection by @PebblesInc.

Start with a simple white cardstock card base (mine is 4 1/4″ wide by 5 1/2″ tall):

Cut a piece of yellow patterned paper (4″ x 5 1/4″) to cover the front, leaving a small white border around the edges:

I used a metal die to cut two pieces from white patterned papers.  The die cuts them about 3″ x 4″.  I like the faux stitching lines left by the die.  You can also opt to cut the squares with any paper trimmer.

Add these pieces, at angles, on top of the yellow paper.

Next, I used a small printed square from the ephemera pack:

I placed a sticker on the top portion.  You could also use washi tape for a fun look:

Another tip I have found for adding layers is to use foam squares for some of the layers.  I used them to add this beautiful floral piece, giving the card more dimension. I tied twine around the handle portion of the print before I added it to the card:

Another fun thing about layered cards is that you can use different types of elements.  I added a printed wood veneer piece and a few layered stickers in the bottom right corner:

These cute sticker tags are also a fun addition.

Since I didn’t want the sentiment on this project, I simply cut off the top portion, added a few mini staples, and tucked it underneath the square piece.

See how easy it was?!?  So easy that you can whip up a few layered cards (or an entire set) in just a short amount of time, especially if you choose all the products from one collection and prep before you start layering!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you’re inspired to create a card with loads of layers soon!
