Hello Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today sharing an easy birthday banner project that you can adapt for any celebration! And even better, this super cute, 15 minute project will make any birthday boy or girl smile at the effort you’ve gone to.

Birthday Banner using @PebblesInc Land That I Love

Let’s get started by gathering your supplies.

I’ve chosen to use the Land That I Love collection. With its bold and bright primary colours, it is a perfect choice to help celebrate my youngest child’s 9th birthday today. Choose your favourite patterned papers and the mini alphabet punch board by We R Memory Keepers.

step 1. Trim the patterned paper to size – 5.5″x3″. Cut enough pieces to be able to display each letter in your sentiment – “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”.

step 2. Score a fold line at the top of the paper piece, 1.5″ down or at 4″ from the bottom.

step 3. Mark the center at the top of the paper piece with a pencil and trim an angle from this point to the fold line. Repeat on the other side.

step 4. Trim a small notch from the bottom of each paper piece and fold over the top.

Once you have all the birthday banner paper pieces, lay them out and arrange next to each other to prevent any pattern clashes or doubles.

step 5. To create the sentiment for your 15 minute birthday banner, trim off-cut pieces of patterned paper to size – 1.5″x2.5″. Coordinate each piece with one of the banner parts.

step 6. Following the instructions from the punchboard manual, create the alphas for the birthday banner.

step 7. Adhere the alphas to the banner paper pieces and measure a length of twine or string to sit under the fold. Once you are happy with the placement, add a small amount of adhesive to the point of the fold over and secure.

step 8. For simple embellishment, add two puffy dot stickers to the top of each corner to complete your birthday banner.

All that is left to do now, is to hang the banner and celebrate your loved one’s special day! Happy crafting..x

15 Minute Layout with Land That I Love……

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Amanda here, with a super quick but oh so stunning, scrapbook layout with the gorgeous Land That I Love collection! I was so excited when I read this week’s theme for the blog – 15 minute craft ideas! I set my timer and challenged myself with this one! Here’s what I created….

“Happy”

Oh isn’t this gorgeous?!!

I know, how did I make this in 15 minutes? Let me tell you……

Start by fussy cutting approximately one third of pattern paper, PATRIOTIC BLOSSOMS. I’m not going to lie, this took me a solid 7 minutes, but the rest of the layout is so quick it can still be created in the 15 minute time frame. If you’re a slower fussy cutter you may want to prepare your cut blossoms a day before 😉

While your trusty scissors are handy, trim the reverse side of pattern paper HAPPY 4TH! The size is 2″ x 12″ and be sure to include the red gingham pattern strip at the base of the paper.

Attach the 2″ trim to the left hand side of a 12″ x 12″ white cardstock base. Glue a 12″ length of delicate white lace over the paper join – as shown above.  While it’s adhering, prepare your photograph!

Back your photo with a PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES blossom & a lace doily. This doily will act as a circular guide for the fussy cut wreath. Line up your photo with the center of the trim and stick down with foam dots.

Arrange fussy cut blossoms in the wreath design, leaving two ‘breaks’ in the wreath. When happy, glue into place.

Fill those wreath ‘breaks’ with PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES and 6 x 12 ACCENT STICKERS birds.

Embellish the blossoms wreath with PUFFY STICKERS: RED, WHITE & BLUE DOTS…..

Apply 6 x 12 blossom ACCENT STICKERS to the top and bottom right hand corners of the layout. Add a Thickers  title (happy) and for finishing touches, add tiny silver Thickers stars to the wreath.

Sigh! SO preeeeeeetty!

Here’s a few close ups for you…..

The lace really adds a soft touch to this crisp color scheme!

Those silver America Thickers are just fabulous! SO cool!

And there you have it!

Simple, sweet and in my album in just 15 minutes! Yessss!

Memory keeping doesn’t need to take you hours. I urge you to give this super quick layout design a try!

Thanks so much for visiting today,

til next time,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo

DIY 4th of July Patriotic Firecrackers

Who’s up for a little DIY 4th of July project?  With only a few days until the 4th, are you looking for a fun, last minute, craft or decor project? I have a quick and easy one for you – easy enough for kids to help with!  How about whipping up a set of your very own patriotic firecrackers?!?  Of course, these are made of paper and don’t explode, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing!! 😉

DIY 4th of July Patriotic Firecrackers by @WendySueA featuring the "Land That I Love" collection by @PebblesInc.

Here’s how to make your own! Start with a piece of patterned paper (use various sizes for different sized firecrackers), the base for this one is 6″ x 7″ and the circle is 5″

DIY 4th of July Patriotic Firecrackers by @WendySueA featuring the "Land That I Love" collection by @PebblesInc.

To create the top of the firecracker, start with the circle.  Cut it in half, then use a small circle punch to punch a half circle in the center of the straight edge.  Roll into a cone shape and secure with sticky tape.

Now create the base of the firecracker by rolling the other paper into a tube shape. Again, use the red tape to secure the edges together.

To create the “flames” or “sparks” in the top, cut several strips of gold paper (this is from an older Pebbles collection). Staple two strips together, back to back, so both sides are gold.  Cut each strip in half. Use a pen (or a similar object) to “curl” the ends.

Use sticky tape or hot glue to begin attaching the gold curls to the center of the cone:

Continue filling the cone until you’re happy with the number of gold curls.

Use hot glue to attach the cone to the base.

Now, if you desire, you can add embellishments, such as die-cuts or stickers to the front of the cone:

Make an entire set using the same process – just vary the sizes for the base cylinders for dimension and interest!

Happy Canada Day, Oh Canada and more with Guest Designer Michelle Gallant!

Hey everyone, my name is Michelle Gallant and I’m so happy to be a guest designer at Pebbles this month!  I am such a big fan of Pebbles!!  Today I’m going to be sharing 2 layouts I’ve made with the Land That I Love collection.  I was so happy to be given this collection to work with.  Red, white and blue…yes please!!  For those of you who don’t know me, I am Canadian.  You may be thinking “How is a Canadian going to work with this collection?” Well, let me show you just how versatile it is!

 Floral Layout:

My first LO was inspired by the pretty flowers on the Patriotic Blossoms paper.  I knew as soon as I saw it that I needed to fussy cut those flowers.  So a few hours later (lol), I had the whole 12×12 paper fussy cut!  I didn’t want to waste any of those flowers so they all went on my layout.

Here’s a closer look at all the dimension those flowers added to my layout. I added some foam squares on some of them to make them pop more.

After all those flowers, I really didn’t need to do much more to my LO.  A title, journaling, some stitching, a few other embellishments and I was done.

Stitching layout:

My next layout took a bit more time to make.  Well, a lot more time.  I love the look of stitching on layouts but I don’t have a sewing machine so I have to hand stitch.  It probably took me about 5 hours to stitch these circles but I’m so happy I did it!  I used a cut file from Paige Taylor Evans and backed the stars with pattern paper.  I love how this layout feels so happy and festive!  I modified the title from the thickers so it would say First of July instead of Fourth.

Here’s a close up of the stitching.  I was up until 2:00am stitching this.  Once I started I didn’t want to stop!  lol

These 3D stars were my absolute favorite thing in this collection.  I knew I had to add a few of them on my layout!

So now I’ve showed you how to use this collection on everyday layouts and even Canada Day layouts.  I hope I’ve inspired you to go out and get this collection!

Planner Pages with Amanda & The Land That I Love!

Hi Pebbles Friends & Fans!

Amanda here; today I am sharing one of the most loved Holidays in the planner girls’ calendar – the 4th of July!

“Oh say, can you see….” I’m singing as I type this post, and feeling all the Land of the Free feels right now!

This is such a wonderful holiday to celebrate, and I just love the Red, White & Blue adorning the pages of my weekly view planner! Forget functionality, this week is all about showing your stripes –  and plenty of them!

Here’s how I’ve prepared my pages for this special occasion….

God Bless America!

As I’m quite the planner addict, you’ll spot that this is yet another new planner in my stash! (Sssh! Don’t tell Mr Baldwin – he doesn’t need to know 😉  ) You’ll note that this a much larger size and more ‘boxed’ style of planner (it’s a MAMBI Happy Planner) compared to my previous planner & traveler’s notebook shares. The great thing is that regardless of planner size or type, you can take the ideas from this post and edit them to best suit your  daily organizer needs. Yay!

Here’s how I created this patriotic spread….

First you’ll need to gather up your Pebbles: Land That I Love supplies. As well as embellishments, you’ll also need pattern papers Stars & Stripes Forever, Happy 4th! and Land That I Love.

I just LOVE those Puffy Stickers! Oh My Stars, indeed!

I start with creating the full size decorator boxes. For this specific project, that means trimming pattern paper Stars & Stripes Forever to size 1 1/2″ wide x 2 1/2″ long. One 2 1/2″ x 12″strip will create exactly 8 boxes, with the choice of two patterns – stars and stripes OR blue with white stripes. Adhere to your pages as shown above.

Next, take pattern paper Happy 4th! and trim all the ‘strips’ to create faux washi tape.

Trim to size, and adhere with glue. This is already starting to look good!

Trim a 3″ x 4″ card from pattern paper Land That I Love, and create a ‘flap’ or two for hidden planning! I have a Printed Cardstock Shape flag as my second flap. I took out some red tape from my stash to secure them in place.

Decorate with a few Puffy Stickers! You’ll see that I have cleverly positioned my puffy star stickers to double up as ‘dot points’ in my planner! Much more fun than asterisks or bullet points!

I put in more Puffy Stickers, and embellished them with the 6 x 12 Accent stickers too! You can never have too many stickers!

Next I created a few planner clips for the top of my page. To make, simply hot glue some of the Printed Cardstock Shapes to metal paperclips. For finishing touches, I tied a patriotic ribbon to the base of my planner to act as my page marker. Love it!

Here’s a closer look…..

I love the ‘flaps’ – such a fun way to decorate without losing all your pen space!

The Red, White & Blue speaks for itself!

I hope you’re as excited as I am for the Fourth of July celebrations! I can’t wait to see what your planners, organizers and notebooks will look like this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo
