Hello everyone! Kimberly Crawford here and I am thrilled to be guest designing for Pebbles, Inc.! I have long-loved everything Pebbles creates and playing with the new Halloween collection, Spooky Boo, has been an absolute blast!
Decorating for Halloween is always fun. This year I have a new shelf up in the house and it was begging for some great pieces for the season. Take a look at how I used all the wonderful pieces in the collection.
First up, glass flasks. The cardstock label stickers are meant for these! Not only will they look cute attached to spooky treats, but they make perfect décor pieces. Before applying your stickers to the glass, be sure it is clean. I find a lens cleaner works well.
Whenever I am shopping, I always check the dollar spots and other clearance sections for frames. This chalkboard frame, with its black background was a great place to add patterned paper and some ephemera, along with a few glittery bat stickers. Don’t forget to bend the wings up a little bit for more dimension.
This small frame was the ideal spot for this friendly ghost sticker. The 6×6 patterned paper pad has some embossed images. These shiny and raised bats add a fun touch in the background. The boo sticker is sweet too, which I love.
Adding ephemera and stickers to wood and metallic décor is so easy. Be sure and use a strong glue or adhesive and your pieces will last a long time. The gold shine on the boo circle and these stars looks fantastic against this metallic black star.
On the cardstock sticker sheet is a set of three bottles-perfect for a small frame. I added the crow and a spider to complete the scene. In my silly sense of humor, I also added a trick or treat banner to the bottom of the frame.
My love of frames continued with a larger square frame in the background. Because of where the frame would be placed, I knew I needed to keep my design in the top of the frame. Using the eyeball tear strip, I had the best place to put a cardstock sticker of a black kitten saying “Happy Halloween.” The sticker really looks like the kitten is peeking over the top of the strip of paper. It really is amazing what details a subtle patterned paper can add to a project. In all of my frames, I used papers that added to the overall theme. It truly ties the entire project together.
This entire ensemble started with the largest frame in the back. How could it not? Look at that amazing spider web piece of paper! The paper is thick and glittered. But not the messy kind as the glitter stays on the paper! Backing it with an orange and black polka dotted paper made the ideal backdrop for everything.
One last detail are these bats! These bats are made for adding to the wall. They come in three sizes in the package and have small backing squares on them, making it easy to stick to the wall. (and they come off easy too, I checked.) The wings have a place to bend them to bring them to life.
Thank you Pebbles for letting me use Spooky Boo and for helping me make some great Halloween Décor!
