Life gets busy. And sometimes our favorite things (like crafting and scrapbooking) get pushed to the back-burner because we just don’t have loads of time for them what with juggling kiddos, jobs, housework and the million other things on our to-do lists. But today, Kim Jeffress is helping us knock out adorable and personalized quick birthday cards in under 15 minutes. Even you have time for that!
Birthday Wishes LogoAre you like me and always leave your birthday card making to the last minute ! Today I want to share 2 quick cards using the Birthday Wishes collection that should take you less than 15 minutes each to make.

Whip up cute birthday cards in a flash with @kimjeffress and the #birthdaywishes collection from @PebblesInc.
For the first card I trimmed 2 pieces of  pattern paper one smaller than the other and then rounded the corners. I then adhered these to my white cardstock popping the second piece of pattern paper up with pop dots. I grabbed one of the Ice cream  diecuts and added these with pop dots to the centre of the card and finally added one of the sticker tags to complete.

My second card uses two pieces of contrasting pattern paper adhered to the white card base. I cut a banner then added one of the tags and die cut popped up with pop dots to complete.

With the new line Birthday Wishes out, it’s no surprise that many of our designers are featuring birthday rub-ons this week. We’re excited to share a birthday scrapbook layout created by designer Kim Jeffress today. What a fun page!

Rub Ons

I have been hanging onto these photos of my son’s 7th birthday for the perfect papers and when the new Birthday Wishes collection arrived on my doorstep I couldn’t wait to start scrapping.

I used the rubons as a layer under my photos. I cut apart each” happy birthday” expression and listed them down the right hand side of the page in a random fashion. I then laid my photos over and completed my page.

As a finishing touch I used some water color paint to splatter some color around my layout.

Alphabet Learning Game

We love seeing new, inventive uses for our products. Stick around and check out how Design Team Member Kim Jeffress is using Journaling Cards and Thickers to make an alphabet learning game with her boys!

Repurposing Themed Collections

Today I am putting on my teacher hat and combining my scrappy supplies with a little  project for my son who has just started kindergarten this year.

When I saw the Special Delivery ABC cards I knew they would be perfect for creating a sound/ letter game for my son to practice his sound skills. I pulled out some white paper, the ABC cards and coloured pencils for my older son who is 7.

I gave my younger  son some punched circles that I punched from American Craft cardstock and some Pebbles basics Thickers.

You can see what they did here in my quick little video.

Once they were finished I glued the drawings to the back of the cards to complete the game.

For the letters  I made sure all the letters were lowercase so he could differentiate between upper case which are on the back of the ABC cards.

There are three variations for playing the game.

1. Match the letter to the picture of each sound.

2. Match the Upper case and Lower case letters.

3. Trace the letters with a finger while your child has his or her eyes closed or covered, guessing what letter he is feeling.( This is why  chose the glitter letters for the texture on the letters.

We’re rounding out our week of St. Patrick’s Day inspiration. We hope you’ve found a few fun ideas that you will be able to incorporate before the holiday. Up today we have a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day inspired layout created by Designer Kim Jeffress.

St Patricks Day

This week, I decided to focus my layout on the people that make me feel  lucky – my family!

St. Patrick's Day inspired layout created by @kimjeffress using @PebblesInc Garden Party collection #scrapbooking
I trimmed a piece of the Garden Party Poppy pattern paper to size and then machine stitched along the lines to create a patch work effect to further add to the family theme.

I created my title using some Color Shine mist and some hand drawn script font. I then trimmed that down and attached it to one of the Garden Party Pockets.

Supplies:
Double sided cardstock – Poppy (732516), Primrose (732522), Peony (732520)
Cardstock Diecuts (732541)
Cardstock Stickers (732530)
