Hello everyone, it’s Eva Pizarro with you today showing you how to make a woven pen holder for someone you love going back to school this season.

I think the colors and pattern for the Heart of Home collection are perfect for this woven paper project; your daughter or your favorite teacher are sure to love it!

To make this project, start by cutting paper strips. I decided to combine wide and thin paper strips because that really makes the pattern interesting!

I glued only the first strip and used different patterns for each side of my rectangle.

When you finish all your background paper, trim the excess and glue all the edges.  You could also make a scallop border on top!

Wrap a glass or a tin to create your woven paper holder and fill it with office supplies.

I also included a card and a tag that I created with the patterned papers from this collection. Easy and perfect for a low cost budget!

Hi! Renee here today to share my Time Together layout, which is a letter board-inspired scrapbooking layout using the Jen Hadfield Heart Of Home collection.  With very busy work schedules, it’s so nice to take the time to do something fun as a family.  We love going to Six Flags Great America during the summer if we have the opportunity to do it.  And we did it!  We had a blast and enjoyed lots of rides and the food.  My favorite part was taking the time for a family photo.

I started my Time Together layout with some handwritten journaling.  I trimmed the Blushing pattern paper to 5 ¼” x 7 ¼” and attached it underneath my 4 ½” x 6 ½” photo with a Gold Metal Clip.

The Letterboard pattern paper is of course the perfect background for this letter board-inspired scrapbooking layout.  I added a couple of Die-Cuts alongside my photo.

Love these white foiled foam Jen Thickers! These letter board alphas make a great title for my page.

This set of Washi Tapes are awesome and so so pretty!  Love the gold foil!

A fussy cut set of leaf and butterfly Die-Cuts and word and butterfly Stickers were added to embellish the page further.

I sprinkled Golden Color Mist around the layout.  I love the way all the gold accents look against the black background.

Journaling Gift using Heart of Home Bookmarks

Hello Friends! It’s Leanne here today, sharing this simple idea to gift any journaling, planner girl or avid reader in your life  a little bookmark love!

Create your own bookmarks using @PebblesInc Heart of Home collection as shared by @leanne_allinson.

Each of these bookmarks have been created using the gorgeous Heart of Home collection. They measure 9″x2.75″ and take next to no time to create. Keeping it simple is sometimes the best creative outlet I can use to put into my projects.

Create your own bookmarks using @PebblesInc Heart of Home collection as shared by @leanne_allinson.

The Heart of Home collection offers the perfect base for bringing these bookmarks together. Especially the From Me To You patterned paper.

The Heart of Home bookmarks can be assembled in three easy steps after gathering your supplies.

step 1.

Trim the cardstock to 9″x2.75″. Trim a piece of patterned paper to 8.75″x2.5″. Center the two pieces and staple at the top.

step 2.

Add your embellishments. Use the diecut ephemera paper pieces to embellish the top of the bookmark. Be aware to keep the adhesive between the embellishment and the top piece of patterned paper. You need to be able to keep the cardstock separate from the top layers.

step 3.

Further embellish your bookmarks by fussy cutting images from the Gatherings patterned paper.

Once your bookmark is complete, slip the cardstock behind the page in a journal, planner or current best seller, and the embellished topper stapled to it, in front.

Keep in mind that these bookmarks can be adjusted in length and width quite easily and I have kept the embellishments flat, allowing the pages of the book to close smoothly. Thanks for visiting.

Rule of Thirds Heart of Home Inspired Layout!

Hey Everyone! It’s Leanne Allinson here today, sharing a layout created from the new release Heart of Home collection! Maybe you’ll never guess…but I’m using the rule of thirds as inspiration for my design.

Create a @PebblesInc Heart of Home Layout using the rule of thirds as shared by @leanne_allinson.

When creating my pages, I always try to keep in mind basic design principles. These simple steps help my creative process move forward, even when the mojo seems to be running low!

step 1.

My first step is to look at my photos and determine if I can use I clean background or if I should start to build layers with patterned paper on my base. With busy photos, I will limit my background to cardstock only and use patterned paper to highlight elements from the image. However, the photo I am using today has strong lines but not too many clashing colours. I still want to have a clean and simple look to my design—not too busy—so this is where I start to employ the rule of thirds principles.

Using the Heart of Home Painted Dots patterned paper as a layer on top of my cardstock, I trim it to the same width as my layout (8.5″). The length has been roughly trimmed to allow one third of the cardstock to remain visible at the bottom. This design has been subtly highlighted by the strip of green patterned paper, (border of Gatherings patterned paper) so as to divide the two spaces.

step 2.

Using another complementary piece of patterned paper, trim it to occupy the space below the photo cluster. This patterned paper grounds the photo to the cardstock background.

step 3.

Next, find placement for your photo. It generally helps the flow of design if your have your subjects looking towards the middle of your page. Offset your photo/s with a 3″x4″ cut apart from the Heart of Home patterned paper.

step 4.

Now here comes the fun part! Fussy cut three clusters of flowers from the Gatherings patterned paper. Note the use of three different clusters.  I have also added the flowers between the layers of paper and photo near the top, bottom and right hand side.

step 5.

Add three gold foil accent label stickers, overlapping the patterned papers and cardstock to prevent them from looking disjointed. Feel free to add journaling to these labels; I have left them as is.

step 6.

Machine stitching was then added randomly to my patterned paper cluster to create texture and interest. It is hard to see from the photos, but I have also left the excess thread from the stitching, long and loose.

step 7.

Start to highlight your rule of thirds clusters by tucking enamel dots, glittered sticker hearts or any coordinating embellishment between the fussy cut layers. By doing this, you are also creating a visual triangle to help the viewer’s eye move across the page.

step 8.

Finally, add journaling and a splash of black paint.

This new collection offers so many exciting patterned paper options that I truly can’t wait to delve deeper into Heart of Home. Thanks for visiting.

Heart of Home Layout “Happy Christmas”

Hello Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here to share a Heart of Home layout entitled “happy Christmas”.

When this collection landed on my doorstep a couple of weeks ago, I was giddy!! I fell in love with two things:. 1. the gorgeous shade of green that is throughout the collection and 2. the beautiful floral prints. I made sure to use BOTH of my favorite elements on this layout.

The first thing I did on this layout was fussy cut the flowers. I turned on Netflix and cut away while watching one of my favorite shows. While I cut out flowers, I was thinking about how I wanted this layout to come together. The patterned papers in this collection have such a happy, cozy feel. I felt like stitching and lots of layers were in order, so I pulled out my We R Memory Keepers Stitch Happy sewing machine.  Can I tell you, it is so much fun to work with! I LOVE the beautiful thick stitches around the layers on this layout. Oddly enough, I did use a Christmas photo on this layout even though this isn’t a Christmas-themed collection. Most of my Christmas photos are taken in poor light so I often print them in black and white. By printing my Christmas photos in black and white, I’m able to use any kind of products to document my Christmas memories. The label stickers in this collection are gorgeous and SO full of possibilities. I used them to nestle into the flowers as a base for some tiny word stickers. Hidden journaling is one of my favorite techniques lately. I used a basic kraft tag and a black journaling pen to handwrite my journaling. It is very important to me to have my hand writing appear frequently in my scrapbooks. I do love how this layout turned out and I LOVE this brand new Heart of Home collection.

As you can see, this collection is extremely versatile and completely gorgeous! Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog today. I’ll see you again soon!
