Hey Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here. We’re right in the middle of gift giving season. It’s an amazing time of year. When I was given the “handmade gift” theme, I knew exactly what story I was going to document. It’s a story I’ve been meaning to get into my son’s album for a while. I snapped a few photos and sat down at my desk with the “Woodland Forest” collection to get started.
I think the best gifts come from grandparents! When I was little I always looked forward to a handmade gift from my grandma. We always got pajamas that my grandma had made each Christmas. The gift my son got from his grammy is a little bit different. His grammy (my mom) made him a quilt with all the pajamas he had outgrown. He LOVES his pajama quilt.
I chose the Woodland Forest collection because of the warm color palette and the classic designs. As usual, I used a LOT of patterned paper on this layout (I may have a bit of a patterned paper addiction.
It’s kind of hard to see it but I created a paper pieced mat for the photo of my son wrapped in his quilt.
I couldn’t create a layout about quilting without including some sewing with my sewing machine. I stitched the title along the bottom and added a some stitching in a few other places around the layout.
The Woodland Forest collection has such cute little woodland creatures I couldn’t help but add a couple of them to this layout.
Looking back, I wish I had more photos of the handmade gifts I received as a child. Are your handmade gifts documented in your albums? Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog. Have a very happy Holiday Season!
