Tealightful Graduation Layout | Teacher Appreciation Week

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here today, sharing a Tealightful graduation layout for “Teacher Appreciation” week. Last year was an exciting year as both my daughter and my eldest son graduated from high school. Although I created many layouts about my daughter’s graduation, I didn’t scrap a single one about my son’s. When I saw the theme for this week, I knew what I wanted to do — create a layout celebrating my son’s graduation as well as a tribute to his awesome teacher. I used Pebbles’ awesome Tealightful collection to create this page.

I’m thrilled I finally got this page done! I struggled finding a collection for a “boy layout” and although this collection isn’t exactly masculine, it works perfectly!

Here’s how this page came together. First, I selected the products I thought I was going to use: leftover scraps of patterned paper, little squares cut from the Tea Party Sentiments sheet, (puffy) stickers, die-cuts, and the Pink Glitter Foam Thickers.

As the squares from the Tea Party Sentiments sheet measure 5 x 5 cm, I cut all other squares in this same size. Some of the squares I cut through diagonally, making them into triangles. Next, I arranged all the squares and triangles on a sheet of white cardstock.

When I was satisfied with the placement of all the squares, I put a little bit of adhesive behind them and machine stitched them next.

Following the stitching, I adhered the photo to the top of the layout and arranged die-cuts and stickers around it. I thought the “Here’s to New Adventures” die-cut was perfect for this occasion! Next, I had to decide where to place the Thickers. For a little while I wondered whether or not to use the pink glitter Thickers for my son’s layout, but in the end, I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did!

A Quick And Easy Graduation Gift!

Good morning, Pebbles friends! It’s Wendy Sue here with you today – sharing a project I created for my daughter, who will be graduating from high school in just a few short days and then will be heading off to the college of her dreams only a few weeks after that. To say I am having mixed emotions about the upcoming events is an understatement. On one hand I keep wondering how my sweet baby girl (who it seriously feels was just sitting on my lap with her long brown curls and her American Girl doll and books only a few days ago) is ready to pack up her favorite clothes, books, and mementos and move out into the big big world to live on her own. And on the other hand, I marvel as I watch a beautiful young woman, who is smart, confident, and more prepared than I could ever hope, as she prepares to move on to the next phase of her life and chase after her dreams.

She doesn’t like a lot of frills and fluff, but I wanted to make her a little something to hang in her dorm room – so this is what I came up with:

I pulled out the photo garland kit from the Happy Day collection, which makes everything super quick and simple.

I filled each of the photo openings with either a photo, or something beautiful from the Cottage Living collection – a quote from the sheet of 3×4 cards (which fit perfectly in the photo openings) or a beautiful piece of foiled, patterned paper so Meagan can add a photo of her choice (or not – because the paper alone is absolutely gorgeous!)

Since the kit comes complete with the twine and clips, she can adjust the length as she needs to (I don’t know how much space she will have to hang it in her room).

I’m excited to see how she’ll display it!

Of course, I couldn’t give a gift without creating some fun packaging for it as well. I pulled out the handy, dandy Gift box punch board and created the largest box possible with a 12×12 sheet of patterned paper. The finished box is 4x4x4 and it’s perfect to hold this little gift.

The gold tipped tags, along with a sticker and beautiful premade flower made the perfect accent for the gift box.

The jumbo gold clip made adding the tag to the box super easy – and now she can reuse the tag and box if she wants to, because there’s no tape and no adhesive residue.

This was a super quick project, but one that I hope will be meaningful to her. I want her to look at the words on these cards each day – aren’t those words powerful? And maybe, just maybe, she’ll think of home when she looks at it as well!

Handmade Graduation Cards

It’s that time of year…Students all over the country are looking to don a cap and gown and walking down the isle to grab their diploma. Designer Renee Zwirek is here to share a fun set of handmade graduation cards!

PB_Americana

Graduation time is coming up soon for many people!  I have a nephew graduating high school.  So proud of him and very excited to celebrate!  So, I made a trio of 5 x 7 cards using the Americana collection.

There is nothing like using a Fourth of July collection for those kids either gaining their independence for summer break or for those who will be entering a new chapter of their lives after high school or college.  No matter what the situation is, it’s such a joyful time to celebrate your Graduate!

For this first card, I kept it quick and easy.  I used a beautiful background with scallops along a center strip of pattern paper.  And, I made the focal point a Dimensional Glitter Star to congratulate the shining graduate.  I love that “congrats” rub on underneath the star!

For this next card, I layered a couple of pattern papers.  I added some machine-stitched stars, a “Class of 2014” tag, and a fun Cardstock Shape.  I especially love that tag I made using the awesome Date Stamp to say “Class of” and combining that with the sparkly “2014” Cherish Thickers!

For this last card, I made a pocket on an angle using different strips of pattern papers.  A perfect thing for you to add a gift card or (even better) a Ben Franklin to say Congrats and Best Wishes to the special graduate!
