Gift Card Mini Album

Hey everyone, Michelle here today sharing a new project using the Merry Little Christmas collection. I’ve always wanted to do a mini album for gift cards and this collection was perfect for it. I used a cut file from Lori Whitlock. I started it off by cutting the base out of white AC cardstock. That way I knew that anything I added would match. I went with a bright red paper for the cover and these gorgeous gold phrase thickers!

I added one piece of ephemera to each page of the album. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t too thick and wouldn’t stay closed.

I also added a strip of washi on top of each page. I love how washi is so easy to use!

I love how the gift cards fit perfectly in the little pockets.

I also added some floral paper on the inside covers, just to make it more colorful!

This little album will hold 6 gift cards. How fun is that?? I haven’t decided who I’m giving it to yet. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

A “Forever My Always” Gift Bag to express Gratitude

Hello Pebbles fans! It’s Monique here sharing a quick and easy “Forever My Always” project created for “Gratitude Week” here on Pebbles blog. Most of the time when I’m someone very grateful I want to bring a gift. Here in The Netherlands that gift is often a bunch of flowers, but once in a while I want to give something else, like for example a gift card. So, for today I decided to create a little gift bag for a gift card. As I had been waiting for an opportunity to use the fantastic Forever My Always collection I decided now was the time! Here’s what I created:

Forever My Always gratitude gift bags created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Forever_My_Always collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #forever_my_always_gift_bags #gift_card

I started my project by selecting a two patterned papers from the Forever My Always collection plus the gold dotted cardstock and using my Silhouette I cut three gift card bags (3″x 4 1/4″):

Next I folded the bags, but didn’t glue them together just yet. I wanted to use my tiny attacher to adhere the embellishments on the front of the gift bag and that’s easier when the gift bag isn’t glued closed on three sides. I used a few more of the beautiful Forever My Always patterned papers, a couple of Forever My Always die-cuts and two of the Heart of Home tag labels:

When the embellishing of the front of the gift bag was done I glued the sides together using some American Crafts double-sided sticky red tape and the gift card bag was finished. Super easy and quick! Here are the gift bags one by one:

Isn’t the Forever My Always collection awesome?! I can’t wait for an opportunity to play some more with it.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog today. As today is my last day on Pebbles’ blog as a member of the Design Team I want to take the opportunity to thank you & Pebbles for an amazing time I have had being on the team. Hi Everyone! It’s Leanne here and believe it or not, it’s that time of the year where we are either starting to bring together our gift giving ideas or are already well under way with the organisation of it all! It you are a little like me, and often find yourself looking for last minute gift ideas, more often than not, I seek out gift cards for my impossible-to-buy-for friends! But to make the giving more special, I love to create gift card holders with gorgeous patterned papers and embellishments.

Create your own gift card envelopes with @PebblesInc #hollyjollychristmas as shown by @leanne_allinson

This year I am creating with the Holly Jolly collection 6×6 mini paper pad and the die cut paper embellishments. Don’t these papers have just the cutest designs ever?!

To create the mini envelope/gift card holders, you will also need the We R Memorykeepers envelope punch board. Simply follow the instructions on the board using a 5″x5″ piece of patterned paper from the mini paper pad.

To personalise the envelope for my gift giving purposes, I have also chosen the mini cut apart patterned paper for contrast. It will also be used to ground any die cut embellishments to the envelope base.

Once you have created your envelope, embellishment is limited only to your imagination!

Here are three fun examples that are very easy to recreate!

Card 1 | Oh Christmas Tree

Create your own gift card envelopes with @PebblesInc #hollyjollychristmas as shown by @leanne_allinson

step 1. Create mini envelope using the “tree” pattern from the paper pad.

step 2. Add the Christmas Tree die cut embellishment to the right side of the envelope front.

step 3. Round the edges of a mini cut apart saying and layer on top of the tree die cut.

step 4. Add foam tape to the Holly Jolly Christmas label die cut and layer on to the envelope to complete the card holder.

Card 2 | Candy Canes

pebbles_leanne-allinson_dec-gift_gift-card-holders_card-2_detail-1

step 1. Create the mini envelope with the “polka dot” pattern from the paper pad.

step 2. Trim two pieces of contrasting patterned paper, one slightly smaller than the other, and round the corners. Layer the smaller pieces on top of the larger patterned paper and adhere to the front of the gift card holder.

step 3. Using a flower die cut and two candy cane paper embellishments, layer to arrange so that each piece overlaps. Add foam tape to the back of the die cut pieces and adhere to the front of the gift card holder.

step 4.  On a mini paper tag, use a precision pen to draw around the outside edge to create a name label and adhere to the envelope.

Card 3 | Making Spirits Bright

step 1. Before folding and adhering the envelope together, trim two pieces of patterned paper at 0.75″  wide. Carefully add a slit measuring the same width on the fold lines, to allow the paper to be threaded inside the envelope.

step 2. Fold and adhere the paper strips to the inside before securing the envelope shape.

pebbles_leanne-allinson_dec-gift_gift-card-holders_card-3_detail-3

step 3. Create a bow (also using the envelope punch board) and add it to the cross point of the paper strips.

pebbles_leanne-allinson_dec-gift_gift-card-holders_card-3_detail-4

step 4. Ink the edges of a mini paper tag and the cut apart saying then tuck each piece beneath the bow to complete the gift card holder embellishment.

Each gift card holder you make can now be personalised easily with these ideas as your guide! And hopefully your gift giving season will be more joyful because of it. Thanks for visiting..x

Quick Gift: Gift Card Holders

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to shift gears and get ready with Christmas Prep – first up: gifts! I’ve noticed a growing trend in my family, as the kids – mine and my nieces and nephews – get older, all they want for Christmas (or birthdays, or any other gift-giving occasion) is a gift card!

So what I once believed to be an impersonal “cop-out” gift, I have grown to love and appreciate as the best gift ever – because nobody is ever disappointed with their present!  That doesn’t mean I don’t want to still put a little personal touch on a gift, so usually I’ll do that with a card or wrap.  For this year’s Christmas gift card gifts, I used the “Holly Jolly” collection to whip up a few cute little gift card holders.

These are so easy to make, but really add a special touch.  Here’s how quick and easy they are:

First, cut some of the 3×4 cards from the paper and some coordinating patterned papers to 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

Use a circle punch to create a little “tab” – either at the side or the top – whichever lends itself best to the design on the card

Now, using a sewing machine, stitch the 3×4 card onto the background

Wrap with ribbon or twine

Add additional embellishments (stickers, die-cuts, etc.) if desired

And that’s it!

Really, you could whip up a dozen of these babies in less than an hour once you get your supplies out and get all set up – less time than it will take you to drive to the store and purchase the gift cards to slip inside (which is something I still need to do)!
