Hi, Renee here to share a playful Jump layout using the Jen Hadfield Everyday collection. The colors in this collection went so well with the colors in my photo. In between these spring days filled with rain and snow flurries (what?!), the girls have been able to go outside in the backyard to enjoy the beautiful weather and play on their trampoline.

For this Jump layout, I used a photo that I have always wanted to scrap but never got around to it until now. I love this photo of Payton! She is quite the jumper. Not at all surprising. Ha! This photo measures 5″ x 7″ plus a border. I really LOVE the space between her and the trampoline, because it makes a perfect spot for my title. I used the Large Gold Alpha Stickers and made my “JUMP” word jump right along with her.

I used the Pineapples pattern paper for the background of this layout. I used the pink stripes from the Trellis pattern paper to create movement around my page. Love the gold splatters above and below my photo. I added layers underneath my photo using the Pretty Peonies (measuring 5 3/8″ x 7 3/8″), Floral Skies (measuring 6″ x 6 ½”), and Angled Thoughts (measuring 6 ¼” x 8 ¼”) pattern papers. I cut out the “love” heart from the Minc Card Set after adding Hot Pink foil to it and added it to my page.

I used the Roller Stamp to add a bit of journaling onto my page.

I added a die-cut flower, an adorable house sticker, and leaf stickers onto my page.

I added another flower sticker along a stripe. I love seeing these pineapples on the page. Fun and yummy!

Hi, Renee here to share a Hugs & Kisses Mini Album I put together using the Jen Hadfield Everyday collection and the We R Memory Keepers Cinch Book Binding Tool. I love the bright and happy colors and gold foil touches in this collection. This mini album is very different from the Colors of Fall Mini Album I made quite a while back because the photos are smaller and I scrapped each page as a mini layout.

The album measures about 5½” x 6½” and I used some of my favorite “Hugs & Kisses” photos from last year.

The photos were printed as black and white and almost all of the photos measure 2½” x 2½” square.

For the front and back covers, I used the Angled Tiles pattern paper. I mentioned before that the album measures about 5½” x 6½”. I also used the squares to determine the size of my album. The album is 5 squares wide by 6 squares tall. The square design also helped guide the placement of my title. I first centered the Ampersand Sticker and then used my ruler to place the “hugs” and “kisses” Gold Gilded Thickers along the top and bottom of the ampersand sticker. I used the From Me To You Roller Stamp to add the “2015” to my cover.

I adhered the Gold Dots pattern paper opposite sides of the front and back covers. I added a pretty “wreath” and a gold foil “heart” Sticker here.

I used the Pretty Peonies pattern paper for the background of this page as well as the fussy cut flowers for this page. I added some pretty gold splatters around the page. The photo was originally 2½” x 2½” but I trimmed it to the shape of the letter “O” to use in my word. It was just too perfect that the girls were hugging close together. Super cute. Love the large gold alpha stickers!

I used the Gemstones pattern paper for the background and dots design on this page. I used the bottom strip of the Scripted Thoughts pattern paper along my dots design to add my journaling. I added more gold splatters along with pretty “cactus” and “potted plant” Die-Cuts and small flower Sticker. Love this photo of the girls hugging in the pool. Or, are they fighting for the ball? Hmm. Nope, they are definitely giving hugs. I’ll go with that. Ha!

Sweet hugs from my sweet girls! Definitely, yes. I used the Floral Skies pattern paper for the background of this page. I added the Scripted Thoughts pattern paper on top of that. I added gold splatters along with “flowers”, “butterflies”, and “gold leaves” Stickers. A pretty pink Rhinestone Sticker finishes off this page.

Love this photo of the girls with Daddy! So much love. I tried not to make this page too feminine. I used the Pops of Color pattern paper for the background of this page. I also used a strip of it to add this great triangle design to the page. I cut a red stripe from the Sweet Dots pattern paper and used a heart punch to create these hearts. I added a flower Die-Cut, Gold Metal Studs, and Fringe Tapes to the page.

I love the lemons on this Honeycomb pattern paper! I matted my photo with vellum and the Pink Picnic pattern paper. I added a Decorative Tag under my photo. I added more gold splatters, a flower Sticker, a heart Sticker, and lemon, potted plant, and “lovely” heart Die-Cuts around the page.

I used the Tropical Delight pattern paper for background of this page. Love the anchors design from the Scripted Thoughts pattern paper. I matted my photo with the Angled Tiles pattern paper. Love the “anchor” Die-Cut (it also comes in gold). I added a pretty pineapple, flower, and leaves Sticker. Perfect pool photo for this page!

I used the Sweet Dots pattern paper for the background of this page. I matted my photo with the World View pattern paper. I added the vellum “Shine Bright” gem and flower Die-Cuts and Gold Metal Clip. I also added Fringe Tape below my photo of the girls going to school (big smiles because it was the last day of school before summer break).

I used the awesome Brushstrokes pattern paper for the background of this page and matted my photo with the Happy Thoughts pattern paper. Love this “good day” vellum and gold pineapple Die-Cut! I added a Decorative Tag, flower Sticker, and the bottom strip of the Floral Skies pattern paper underneath my photo. Love this photo of the girls waiting in line for the Roaring Rapids ride at Six Flags Great America.

Awesome Teachers Layout

Hi, Renee here today sharing a layout of my girls’ teachers. We have been so blessed with absolutely amazing teachers ever since the girls started Kindergarten. This year is no exception. No doubt these girls adore their teachers and vice versa. Teachers do so much for their classrooms, and we appreciate all they do.

I was inspired by this circle print I found on Pinterest.

I used the Home Grown collection simply because these teachers help my children grow everyday, not only as students but as people. The wonderful words on the Family Rules and Busy Bees patterned papers also apply to my girls’ lives at school.

I started with the Flower Garden and Nature Walk patterned papers because green and blue are their school colors. Perfect. I layered these two papers and trimmed about a ½ inch off of the green paper for the blue to show just a bit at the top and bottom.

I punched out a variety of patterned papers into circles along with my photos. My photos measure 3½” and my other circles measure 2″ and 3″.

I arranged my circles on the page and adhered them down.

I added part of my title using these pretty coral foam Thickers.

I finished off my title using the “awesome” Puffy Phrase Sticker.

I added embellishments and hand stitching on my page.

I stamped a bit of journaling and my page is done. Love it! I also stamped the year “2014-2015” on the page after I stamped each grade and classroom i.d. which I kept private.

Thanksgiving Takeout Boxes

Now that Halloween is over, I can finally dedicate my energy to thinking about the upcoming feast of Thanksgiving. And with that feast comes leftovers. Glorious leftovers.

This is the one time of year I don’t mind having my fridge stuffed full of last night’s meal. But alas, sometimes those leftovers need to be sent home with friends and family. Today I am sharing a simple takeout box that you can mass produce with ease. Wrap each box with a piece of patterned paper and send those leftovers away in style.

Let me take a minute to address the obvious. There will be no leftover pumpkin pie. This piece of homemade pumpkin pie is for photography purposes only, and only briefly at that. Yum.

Now let’s get back to looking at the boxes. Each box is die cut from textured cardstock and is wrapped with a piece of patterned paper. This tuck and fold style box stays together without the wrap, but the wrap makes it extra pretty.

It is easy to die cut fun shapes in each wrap. You can use a single shape, or cut different shapes for each box.

This project is great for all of those leftover patterned paper strips you have laying around. Trim a strip of patterned paper to create a band around each box. Choose fall-themed colors or use anything you have on hand. Hop on over to my blog to see how I used the remaining turkey die cuts to make cute tags and labels.

These tuck and fold boxes are super easy to open and close, making it really easy to stuff them full of delicious leftovers. Be sure to line the box with parchment paper or wrap leftovers in a plastic bag before putting them in the box.

To make the takeout boxes, you will need two sheets of 12″x12″ cardstock. Die cut two box pieces and adhere them together with This to That double sided super sticky red tape. I like to use this tape when I am making 3-D projects.

After you have adhered the two box pieces together, you will fold it into a box shape. Hold the box together by adhering a few pieces of transparent tape on the inside of the box. The rest of the box is held together with tucks, tabs, and folds.

Trim several 2″ strips of 12″x12″ patterned paper to make bands that go around the box. Add some festive flair by die cutting a turkey in the middle of each paper strip.

You can assemble your boxes before the big feast, or assemble them on-the-fly as you send guests home with leftovers. Yum!

Summer Scrapbook Layout

Are you ready for summer yet? If not perhaps this fun grid-style summer scrapbook layout created by Designer Marjan Pel will do the trick! We love the way she’s mixed patterned paper up for a fun look.

Last summer we had this beach vacation in the Netherlands. Zandvoort aan Zee is one of the major beach resorts of the Netherlands. It has a long sandy beach, bordered by coastal dunes. The kids loved it there! They played in the sand all day long. We had a lot of warm and sunny days during this summer vacation and we spent most of the time at the beach.

I wanted to scrap a fun scrapbook page about one day at the beach. First I cut my normal sized 4 x 6 pictures into squares because I wanted to use an easy grid design for my page. I used several yellow and blue designed patterned papers from different collections to make some sunburst cards.

I sewed vellum squares on 3 of them to give it an eclectic look.

I embellished the scrapbook layout with coordinating stickers and golden rub-ons. To give some of these embellishments a bit of a dimension I used little foam adhesives. The gold of some of the stickers and rub-ons remembers me of the color of the sun. For me sun is not only yellow, but has different shades of yellow and gold!

I just love summer and when I look at this scrapbook page I really can remember those warm and sunny days at the beach from Zandvoort aan Zee!
