Easy Muffin Wraps

Hi everyone!  Amanda here today.  The other day I went to the local bakery for some carbtastic goodness and had the most delicious pumpkin chocolate chip muffin.  I was so impressed with my muffin that I bought the rest of them and came home and created a customized wrapping for each delicious treat.

Inspired by the brown bakery wrapping around each muffin, I used the rich, warm patterned papers from the Harvest collection to create a pretty wrapping for each muffin.   They are super easy to make and don’t require any special tools.  Bonus.

Pretty, right?  These muffin wraps would help turn a homemade (or bakery bought) muffin into a special treat or gift.  Don’t be shy when adding a “from my kitchen” or “home made” sticker.  No one will ever know the difference.

Each muffin wrap is wrapped with jute twine secured with a sticker.  No doubt that these bakery muffins were made with love.

Although these wraps contain a yummy muffin, you could also use them to doll up a fancy cupcake or fill them with other treats or goodies.

To make the muffin wraps, start with a 7″ x 7″ piece of patterned paper.  Fold the paper in half (both ways), creating nice creases.  Trace a 2 1/2″ circle on the inside center of the wrap.  This will help guide you as you create the remaining folds.

Begin by using your finger to fold the paper along the circle.  TIP: Trace the circle several times with a pen to create a score line.

Using the creases and the circle you created earlier, bring the two sides of the crease together, overlapping by about 1″.

Fold your paper over to the side and press down to create a crease on the back.  Repeat with all four sides of the muffin wrap.

Fold up each side of the wrap and secure with a staple.

Fluff and fuss over your newly made wrap just a bit, embellish with twine and stickers, and fill with something yummy.  Your friends and family won’t be disappointed. (Need another easy fall treat idea?  Check out this one HERE.) Thanks for stopping by today!

A Quick & Easy “Fun in the Sun” Gift Project

Good morning Pebbles friends!  It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a quick and easy “Fun in the Sun” gift project!  I don’t know about your kids, but at my house, about a week after school gets out for the summer, the “I’m bored syndrome” hits.  I’ve decided to keep things fun and interesting this summer, so we’re going to make a list of fun things to do each week.  One of those fun things will be to visit the local sno-cone shop(s).  I thought it would be fun to buy a gift card for each of the kiddos and give it to them in a super cute little popsicle shape box.  So I got busy and put together the boxes over the weekend – I just have to purchase the gift cards and tuck them inside…then icy cold goodness awaits!

The popsicle shaped boxes are a cut file available from the Silhouette design store – you can check it out there.

But today, I thought I would focus on the fun little tags I created to attach to each box using some of the Pebbles dies and items from the “Fun in the Sun” collection.

I started by cutting little banners from bright papers (I cut four because I’m making four popsicle boxes).

Next, I punched a hole on the left side of each banner.

I pulled out the “chips” from this collection and chose four of my favorites, making sure they were small enough to fit on the banners.

Next, I used the “hello” die to cut four phrases.

And I attached the phrases over the top of the chips using a liquid adhesive.

Finally, I tied baker’s twine through the holes in each tag

And added them to the paper popsicle boxes!

If you know me at all, you know that I couldn’t stop there – I just h ad to put together a little container to hold all of the boxes!  I found a fun little berry basket (from pebbles in my pocket) and embellished it with a few strips of patterned paper (with the ends notched), a coordinating chip phrase, and a popsicle shaped card!

Aren’t the Popsicle cute tucked inside?  Now I just have to wait to hear the “I’m bored” signal and then I get to present the kiddos their paper treats with their very own treat ticket inside!

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books

School’s almost out for summer. This brings a wave of changes–both good and challenging–to our household. Boredom tops the list of struggles that both the kids and I will have to deal with this summer. Pulling weeds and folding laundry aren’t my kids’ idea of boredom busters, whereas I think they are a perfectly acceptable cure for boredom.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionAlthough it would be nice to let my kids sit in front of the TV all day, deep down I know better and try to keep a few educational activities on hand for those super boring summer days. With a few sheets of sudoku and crossword patterned papers, you can create some stimulating activity books in a snap.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionCreate a fun cover page by adding some Thickers and a few cute stickers. Create a simple border with a black pen. No fuss here.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionMaking the pages out of patterned paper makes the inside of the books extra fun.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionI know, I know. I spelled colossal wrong. And where in the world did I come up with rhodium? Making up your own crossword is quite challenging. While these crossword pages aren’t traditional, it is kinda fun to fill in as many spaces as possible. I highly recommend using a pencil.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionPebbles knows how to put the fun in functional. How adorable are these sudoku and crossword papers? Each Thinking of You sudoku paper has 16 puzzles, and you can trim nine 13×13 crossword puzzles from the Puzzled paper. Seriously fun times ahead.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionCreate the book pages by cutting pieces of patterned paper that are about 2″ wider than the puzzle. This will give you enough space to create a binding while giving the puzzle-doer enough space to write. Adhere the puzzles to the right-hand side of the page.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionScore each page 3/4″ from the left. Adding the score line makes it easier to open the pages of the book. Also, I am not really left handed.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionCreate the binding by using a Crop o Dile hole punch and eyelet setter. This baby punched through 13 pieces of patterned paper with no problem. Keep it simple by only punching the binding twice.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionI like to add my eyelets one at a time so my binding doesn’t get wonky between punches. Add at least two eyelets to the binding, or more if you’re feeling fancy.

Wishing you a summer free of boredom!
