Hello everyone! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I want to show you a way to organize your die cuts and little chips. I have tons of embellishments, and some time ago I decided to organize them by color. It is so much easier to find little things, and it is a fun way to mix different collections!
The problem is that I don’t have a container big enough to hold everything, and the plastic ones I own have little holes in them so I kept loosing my little die cuts.
I decided to make little boxes using my 1,2,3 Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers and the beautiful papers from the DIY Home collection. To make your first box, start with a 12 x 12 inch piece of paper. Place it on the 4 inch mark and punch and score. Your 1,2,3 Punch Board is perfect for this project because it is big enough to score your paper all the way down!
Rotate your paper counter clockwise and Punch and Score at 5 and 1/2 inch mark.
Rotate again and score at 4 inches and finally rotate one more time and score at 5 and 1/2 inches.
Rotate your paper again and on the left side match the punched paper with the scoring guide. On the upper side your already scored line will match your scoring knob.
Rotate counter clockwise and repeat the previous step with all four sides.
Fold your corners using your first scoring guide.
Then fold over the second scoring guide without opening your first fold.
Cut one side of your four flaps.
Use your Sticky Thumb liquid glue to glue the flaps to the side of the box.
Apply liquid glue to all your triangles and bend and glue to your box.
This is how your box will look. You can cut a paper to fit the inside and make the box sturdier.
Measure the height of your box and cut 4 pieces of paper straws. Cover them with washi tape.
Glue them to the angles/edges of your box with a strong glue. This way you can stack one box on top of another and they will not fall.
These were my old boxes, I couldn’t put more than 2 or 3 together so they used a lot of space!
And here are my new boxes! I have many more to make, but I love that I can begin the new year more organized!
Here you can see how they look one on top of the other. I also put a small color circle to remind me what color my die cuts are.
I hope that you liked this project and that you can use it to organize your supplies. You could also use it to make small drawer organizers! Once you make the first one, the other ones are very easy to do!
Do you have a 1,2,3 Punch Board? If you don’t, what are you waiting for? Look at this cute project Amy did a few weeks ago!
Have a great week!
