Holly Jolly Christmas Layout with Amanda!

Hi Pebbles Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, and today I am sharing a really simple process video with our super cute Cozy & Bright collection! I just love this adorable collection – it’s so playful & fun! Perfect for documenting all the holly jolly Christmas moments!

But enough chatter, here’s what my finished project looks like…..

“Holly Jolly”

Oh isn’t this the sweetest?!! Nothing’s more precious than a puppy for Christmas!!! Holly jolly, indeed!

I’ve featured one inch strips of the bright stripes pattern paper, MERRY & BRIGHT to act as an anchor at both the top and base of my 12 inch white cardstock page.  I’ve also drawn on the less traditional Christmas colors in this collection, and used the light blue and pink for a more whimsical look!

Here’s a closer look for you…..

This is oh so pretty! Lots of beautiful embellishments to adorn and support my sweet photo!

I fussy cut those  blue & pink tags from pattern paper GIVE JOY, and use them to layer my photo with. The use of tags is a great alternative to blocks of pattern paper, and adds a more playful and fresh look!

Just look at the soft glitter on the 6 x 12 ACCENT STICKERS – those red baubles are just divine!

Loving those DECORATIVE BRADS too!

Want to see more, including how this layout came together? Please watch my short process video HERE.

Thanks so much for subscribing to my channel too!

I hope you enjoy and feel inspired to get creating with Cozy & Bright for the Holidays!

Merry Christmas, & Happy Arty Days,

Amanda xo

Quick and Easy Christmas Eve Layout

Do you have fun Christmas traditions that you repeat every single year?  The kind that don’t really need a lot of explanation?  We do – and even though they don’t need a lot of words, I always have photos that I want to use to document our fun family time.  Today I want to share the layout I created to document our traditional family Christmas Eve activities.  The kids always get new pajamas and a movie or game…just a few of the fun things we all look forward to every December 24th!

Did you happen to see the cards I created recently with this collection (here)?  I used a die to cut out the 3×4 cards, which left me with these strips:

As I started cleaning up my scraps from that project, I was going to toss these, but then I realized how they looked like cute little frames or filmstrips – so I tucked them away with a plan to use them on my next project!

Fast forward to today – and here we are  – making my “next” project!  I printed several photos 3″ x 4″ to use on my layout along with these strips (flipped over to the “b” side of the paper).

I started by placing the photos in the openings of the frames:

And then I placed the strips on a fun patterned background:

Next, I just started filling in the blanks – and assembling everything – with all of the amazing coordinating products in this collection, it was truly quick and easy!

Oh, see the word “EVE” in my title?  It didn’t come that way on the Thicker sheet – but here’s a little peek at how I made it:

I took parts of these two words:

And I trimmed the “W” to make a “V” to create:

It’s fun to get creative and customize pieces to fit your needs!

Thanks for stopping by – I hope you take lots of photos this holiday season – and don’t forget to document them!!

Merry Christmas!

The Story of the Christmas Tree with Terhi

Hello everyone! Terhi here with another layout telling some very precious memories of our Christmases. I’m desperately trying to limit all I’d like to share, so that’s why I decided to make a layout about the most special Christmas tradition our family has.
It’s the Tree!
Before you skip the story thinking this sounds too usual, I want to mention our tree tradition starts from going outside to real woods! We usually celebrate Christmas at my parent’s farm, and way before December we already take lovely fresh walks in forests choosing the right tree. It has to be wide, but not too wide. Green, and right age. Furry and thick, and lots of twigs to hang all decorations. And most importantly the right kind of top to hang the star! We can easily discuss hours about which one is the right one, and still my Dad complains about the decision afterwards. But it’s part of the tradition and I’d be very worried if Daddy would approve.

To capture this story to the layout I chose one photo from last Christmas. Before printing I reduced the saturation and vibrance of the photograph to make it fit better to the layout. Black and white would have been ok too, but I like this kind of photographs!

To make the tree background I cut several 1/2″ wide paper slices using couple lovely patterned papers from Cozy and Bright collection. Then, I folded each from the middle to make dimension. Very random look, and surprisingly it does give the idea of twigs.

All the patterned paper slices are adhered onto the white cardstock using glue. On top the twigs are couple of rows of thread with some embellishments – just like on our real Christmas tree! Cozy and Bright Brads are perfect for this.

The photograph with couple patterned paper layers underneath it is a perfect tree trunk. I even added a layer of brown patterned paper just to make it look more tree.
Rest of the scrapbooking process was simple, just added some more embellishments, the title and couple splashes of watercolors from same color scheme as the papers.

Don’t see the journaling part? No worries, you’re not alone. Most of my stories are way too long to be written straight to layout, so I write them to the backside. No need to worry about messy handwriting or straight lines then!

All these memories makes me so excited about Christmas! Just couple more weeks and the celebration can begin.
Have a lovely weekend!

Terhi xx

Documenting the Festive Season with Cozy & Bright!

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Welcome back for more Christmas inspiration!

Amanda here, & this week’s theme post is all about documenting a Christmas Tradition in your ‘home’ country. For those of you who don’t know, I’m an Aussie girl and spend most of my days at the beach! And Christmas is no exception! But before we get to the big day, we have quite a few traditions that we like to participate in. The festive season doesn’t officially start for us until the Christmas Pageant (think Christmas Parade ) has occurred. So, for today’s post, I am documenting my children participating in the Christmas Pageant. Yay!

Here’s my layout…..

“Pageant Day”

Isn’t this the sweetest?! Such a bright, happy & adorable page! So.much.fun!

Best part? It’s super simple and easy to recreate – here’s how….

Start by trimming the reverse side of pattern paper Tis The Season (candy cane stripes) on an angle. I made my paper strip 3″ at the widest end and 2″ at the shortest point. Attach to the top of the white cardstock background. Repeat this process, but this time use the candy canes pattern of Tis The Season, and reduce all measurements by one inch. Layer over the top of the stripes paper & glue into place (as shown above).

Take your square photograph, and tuck a Cozy & Bright Tag beneath it. Add a a few layers of torn white tissue wrap to the back of the tag. This torn paper adds both dimension and interest to the photo cluster.

Foam mount the photo cluster onto the top right hand side of the layout, & embellish with a few Die Cuts.

I just adore that cookies n cocoa Santa – so super cute!

Embellish with more Die Cuts, as well as some fabulous 6″ x 12 ” Accent Stickers.

Add a 1/2″ trim of pattern paper, Tis The Season (reverse side) to the very base of the page.

Embellish with those amazing Decorative Brads.

Add some Puffy Stickers – they make everything look awesome!

Create your title (& xo subtitles) with the Cozy & Bright Maggie Thickers. So cool! Love these amazing candy cane print alphas!

Build on your title work with a Decorative Brad!

Continue to embellish with stickers, brads and die cuts until your happy!

And Voila! An adorable page that is oh-so easy to create!

Here’s a few close ups for you……

And there you have it! Cozy & Bright – perfect for documenting the Festive Season!

I hope I’ve inspired you to get creating with this amazing new line!

Happy Holidays, Friends!

Interactive Christmas Cards

30

Hello Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today sharing the cutest little 4″x4″ interactive Christmas Cards! And they are incredibly easy to make! These Christmas cards also have an added bonus! Look closely.. I have created a viewfinder where, when you spin the wheel, it appears as though the tree has flickering lights!!

I was totally inspired by my Grade One class and our basic Christmas Art of using two rotating paper plates to create “flickering lights”.  Not sure what I mean? Stay tuned to follow the step by step guide below.

Getting started..

step 1..

Start by gathering Christmas card supplies. I have selected the gorgeous Pebbles Inc Cozy & Bright patterned paper collection to bring this project to life. Add some white cardstock and trim to size (8″x4″). Score a line at 4″ and fold the card in half.

step 2..

Choose a bold red patterned paper and trim to 3.75″x3.75″. Adhere directly to the front of the Christmas card. Before going any further with the more intricate card front, take a moment to trim the decorative border from the Warm & Cozy patterned paper. Cut apart the Christmas phrases and add a simple row of red stitching using a sewing machine. The red thread carries the background colour forward creating an overall cohesive look.

Front plate assembly..

step 3..

Trim a 3.5″x3.5″ piece of patterned paper and punch a half circle notch on the right hand side. In the picture below, the white cardstock front plate is a template. I’ve included it in the photo to visually share the process. To create the tree, trim either green patterned paper or more white cardstock to 2″x3″. With a pencil, mark the center point on the short side (1″). Cut a triangle shape from the 1″ mark to the lower corner on both sides. The triangle should be 3″ tall. Adhere to the front of the patterned paper.

step 4..

Trace and cut a 3″ circle. Position the circle evenly on the reverse side of the patterned paper, allowing access to the circle via the pre cut notch. Trace this circle position (on the reverse side) of the patterned paper and find the center point. note: This is where it is helpful to have a template when making multiple Christmas cards. Punch a hole at the center point.

step 5..

Punch several more holes of varying sizes through the cardstock tree. Take note where the circle has been traced on the reverse side of the patterned paper and keep within the boundary. Any holes outside the circle will just create gaps.

Flickering lights..

step 6..

Take the 3″ circle and punch a hole in the center. Realign with the front plate and secure with a decorative brad.

To allow the circle to move freely, don’t secure the brad too flush to the reverse side of the circle. I recommend testing the spinner before adding foam pop dots to all four corners of the patterned paper.

step 7..

Add any additional layers of patterned paper to the front of the Christmas card before securing the front plate.

step 8..

Using the pop dots, adhere the front plate to the base Christmas Card. Embellish further with the Christmas phrase that was prepared earlier.

step 9..

Finally, complete your Christmas card with a few sequins and enjoy passing them out to your friends!

As the circle spins, the patterns on the paper alter the view seen through the punched holes. You can go as subtle or as bold as you like!

Thanks for visiting the blog today. I hope you enjoy this different “spin” on these interactive Christmas cards..x
