Grateful Daughter Layout with Terhi

Hello there lovely Pebbles fans! Terhi Koskinen here with my first Christmas layout with the wonderful ‘Cozy and Bright’ collection. I love, love, love this collection! It’s so traditional, yet there are so many trendy vibes and lovely creatures! Have you seen it?

The creation process was fun, but first quite time-consuming as I ended up fussy cutting a lot! Loved all the beautiful Christmas blooms and wanted to highlight the photograph with them.

But the time I used for cutting was definitely worth it! Just look at the pretty blooms. I layered some pieces of papers to white cardstock, them adhered the photograph on top and decorated the layout with different embellishments.

In addition to fussy cut blooms, I added similar blooms from the Cozy & Bright Cardstock Stickers and Mini Icon Stickers. The title is from Cozy & Bright Thickers, and it looks so pretty on top of the lovely patterned papers.

The story behind the photograph is obviously a memory from our last Christmas, but reminder of gratitude too. My younger one knew all ready last year the secret about Santa, and she kept thanking us for her most precious Christmas gift. It’s unbelievable how much gratitude fits in her. And the most precious gift wasn’t a toy or any other material – it was a promise of vacation abroad. Very unexpected for her.

Hope you are feeling grateful for something today. I know I am.

Have a scrappy weekend!

Terhi xx

The Story of the Christmas Tree with Terhi

Hello everyone! Terhi here with another layout telling some very precious memories of our Christmases. I’m desperately trying to limit all I’d like to share, so that’s why I decided to make a layout about the most special Christmas tradition our family has.
It’s the Tree!
Before you skip the story thinking this sounds too usual, I want to mention our tree tradition starts from going outside to real woods! We usually celebrate Christmas at my parent’s farm, and way before December we already take lovely fresh walks in forests choosing the right tree. It has to be wide, but not too wide. Green, and right age. Furry and thick, and lots of twigs to hang all decorations. And most importantly the right kind of top to hang the star! We can easily discuss hours about which one is the right one, and still my Dad complains about the decision afterwards. But it’s part of the tradition and I’d be very worried if Daddy would approve.

To capture this story to the layout I chose one photo from last Christmas. Before printing I reduced the saturation and vibrance of the photograph to make it fit better to the layout. Black and white would have been ok too, but I like this kind of photographs!

To make the tree background I cut several 1/2″ wide paper slices using couple lovely patterned papers from Cozy and Bright collection. Then, I folded each from the middle to make dimension. Very random look, and surprisingly it does give the idea of twigs.

All the patterned paper slices are adhered onto the white cardstock using glue. On top the twigs are couple of rows of thread with some embellishments – just like on our real Christmas tree! Cozy and Bright Brads are perfect for this.

The photograph with couple patterned paper layers underneath it is a perfect tree trunk. I even added a layer of brown patterned paper just to make it look more tree.
Rest of the scrapbooking process was simple, just added some more embellishments, the title and couple splashes of watercolors from same color scheme as the papers.

Don’t see the journaling part? No worries, you’re not alone. Most of my stories are way too long to be written straight to layout, so I write them to the backside. No need to worry about messy handwriting or straight lines then!

All these memories makes me so excited about Christmas! Just couple more weeks and the celebration can begin.
Have a lovely weekend!

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog! It’s Eva on the blog today a tutorial on how to create a colorful edge for your next scrapbook layout.

create a colorful and fast edge on your pages using washi tape! Project by @evapizarrov using the Cozy And Bright collection from @pebblesinc

Here in Chile, we celebrate Christmas during the summer, we receive bikes and all sorts of summer toys! My husband is from Italy and he misses the snow and cold days, he says it doesn’t feel like Christmas because it is hot and sunny! For this layout, I decided to scrapbook a picture of my little boy while he decorated the tree. I can’t believe how much he has grown in a year!

To create the colorful edge I used washi tape. I love how simple this is and it really helps your layout to stand out!

Simply put different lengths of washi tape over the edge and wrap the edges at the end of the page.

Use different patterns and put one on top of the other to get a cool look!

Once my edge was complete, I used the ephemera to create a ” Christmas village” around my photo. Tip: Use 3d dots to give some dimension to a few elements.

Next, I used my Magnetic Mat to create perfectly aligned lines for my journaling.

I love these Wood Thickers! they are perfect to create titles and add a handwritten element to your page!

The designs of this collection are colorful and fun. The elves add a playful element and the wood pattern is lovely don’t you think?

The snowflakes are also one of my favorites, I love chipboard elements!

And here’s my final page! the colorful edge gives the layout a nice touch and I didn’t use any patterned paper! I love simple layouts, there’s no excuse for not saving the lovely memories during this busy holiday season.

Cozy & Bright Paper Cone Advent Calendar

Hey Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today, wishing you a joyous start to the holiday season with a fun and easy project for inspiration. Plus it is never too early to start those paper craft décor items, am I right? My favourite Holiday Craft is always about dreaming up new ways to create an advent calendar. This year, the Pebbles Inc new Cozy & Bright collection, has inspired my paper cone advent calendar.

Perhaps it has been the influence of working with First Graders for most of this year, but simple shapes seem to appeal. And honestly, why would you want to over complicate the beautiful patterned papers that are on display.

Advent Calendar base..

Choosing Cozy & Bright was an easy choice. The bold red patterned papers and emerald greens practically designed the advent calendar with little thought as to what each cone would ultimately represent. For this advent calendar, the base cones are “Santas”, “Trees” or “Elves”.

Step 1. Using a circle template, measuring approximately 7.25″ at the diameter, trace around the outside edge with a pencil. Tip: use a small bowl or plate as a basic template. Cut each traced circle in half and gather a selection of patterned paper semi-circles.

Step 2. Gently curve the semi circle before forming a cone shape. This allows for more flexibility in creating an even cone before adhering it together. Apply strong double sided tape along half of the straight edge only. Reform the cone shape with the tape in place and put to the side.

Santa Cone..

To create a Santa for the advent calendar, choose a red cone base, white cardstock and patterned paper images large enough to fussy cut around.

Trim the white cardstock into a elongated oval and then punch or die-cut a small circle shape towards one end.

Slip the oval over the top of the cone tip. Gently curl the cardstock with your fingers for a comfortable fit. Using wet adhesive, add a single red sequin to represent Santa’s nose. Fussy cut a simple flower image from the 6″x6″ mini paper pad and mount onto the side of the cone base with foam tape. Feel free to add your calendar numbers below the beard.

Christmas Tree Cone #1..

This is the easiest cone base to convert. Supplies include yellow cardstock, small star punch, wet adhesive and a toothpick.

Punch two yellow cardstock stars. Apply adhesive to the back of each star and sandwich the toothpick between the layers.

Once dry, slide the toothpick into the top of the advent calendar cone.

Christmas Tree Cone #2..

Pull out your nesting circle metal dies! Using the small leaf patterned paper found in the 6″x6″ mini paper pad, create a mini wreath using the metal dies.

For extra dimension, fussy cut holly berries from the same paper pad and adhere to the front of the mini wreath.

Keep the clean and simple look by adding the wreath to the front of a green base cone.

Elf Cone..

The elf cone for the advent calendar is created with a combination of techniques used above. But it is still very simple to create! The elf beard has been made using a scallop circle punch, trimmed to form one side. Add a green sequin for the nose and two striped patterned paper strips for the legs.

The white pom-pom hat detail is created the same way as the yellow cardstock star. Reuse the small circles punched from the white cardstock Santa beards.

To complete the Advent Calendar, add a number to each cone and hide a small token for that day, inside the cone’s interior. To reveal the gift, just lift each cone as required.

Hopefully this fun project has started to inspire you to at least think about the upcoming Holiday Season and all the paper crafting that can be created during this time. Thanks for visiting..x
