Hello Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today sharing a family fun layout about our crazy cousin Monster Crew! My children absolutely adore their cousins. And as we don’t live very close to each other anymore, it’s always a big deal when we catch up. To us, family is really important whether we are small in numbers or not. However, our crowd, when all together, is not so small and you can imagine having nine cousins in one space can become somewhat of a monster task!

Halloween is not a holiday my family celebrates, but it won’t stop me using the gorgeous new Spooky Boo collection from Pebbles! This patterned paper range and cute die cuts were ideal for helping me document this family story. I love how versatile this collection is, especially when it comes to fussy cutting!

To recreate this Monster Crew page, gather the more neutral Spook Boo supplies and start to layer.

Initially I took inspiration from the colours and subjects in the photo. I also knew I wanted to create a layout using the cut apart tags Let’s Party patterned paper.

Off set the photo with one of the cut apart tags and then layer with a simple die cut ephemera strip. When using the patterned paper tags, I also love to punch the hole at the top of the tag, to create a layer of dimension. At the top of the layout, a second darker tag has been trimmed to help balance the white space on the page.

Title Work..

For the title I have selected contrasting block colours from the 6×6 Spooky Boo mini paper pad. Using an electronic die cutting machine, I have typed out “Monster Crew”, making the word “crew” slightly smaller than “monster”.

When adhering the title to the layout, ensure the loops of the font overlap and appear intertwined. The word “crew” is mounted onto foam tape for extra dimension.

Above the title are two clusters of fussy cut flowers. These images create a visual triangle with the same image which is printed on the tag that has been used.

To complete the layout, layer several pieces of the die cut ephemera beneath the photo. Add foam tape to balance the height created in the title and hide any unwanted or messy space in the photo. For a final touch, machine stitch a simple border in orange thread around the outside edge and add a few splashes of black paint.
