Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing my favorite tip for making a big set of birthday cards – hint: assembly line!!

Watch how easy it is to create a half dozen cards in a jiffy!

Start by cutting the background. These papers are 4″ wide and 5 1/4″ tall.

The next layer is this fun text paper, cut at 4″ wide and
3 3/4″ tall. I centered each piece (eyeballing the center – no measurements here)!

Next, I cut a few different tear strips to 4″ wide and placed them on the top and bottom of each blue piece.

Now cut red patterned papers to 2 1/2″ x 4″ and white birthday text paper to 1 1/2″ x 4″. Add one of each to every card, tilting slightly in opposite directions.

Now we’re going to put one of my favorite, and most versatile papers, to work! Cut apart the tags from this fun paper!

Punch out the holes and tie baker’s twine through each one. Add a puffy sticker or two for interest and dimension!

Now the card tops are complete and the final step is to place each one onto a white cardstock card base! The final cards measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

I made a set of 6 cards, but you could easily make an entire dozen almost as quickly! Here’s a closer look at each of the six cards:

It’s easy to put together an entire set of cards, and having a fun collection like this one makes it extra fun!

Birthday Cards with 4 Things

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. This week we were challenged to create a project using only 4 things. I decided to create a set of birthday cards. It seems I am always in need of one and the new This Is Family collection had fun ephemera die cuts that were perfect for birthdays. My 4 things are paper, a cut file, ephemera die cuts, and a sentiment stamp.

Some of my favorite die cut ephemera pieces from the This Is Family collection are the bears riding bicycles. They are too cute! They add a fun, whimsical feel to this card set. This first card I am sharing didn’t need a stamped sentiment. That Happy Birthday banner is one of the die cut ephemera pieces.

By keeping the design relatively the same, these cards came together pretty fast. I only had to choose which papers I wanted to use. I love that the This Is Family collection has colors suitable for boys and girls.

and Mamas and Papas.

Would you love to receive one of these?

Getting Started With Cardmaking

Good morning friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today. Can you believe we’re already starting the second week of the new year?  That means a lot of us are committing ourselves to try new things, or to work on things we want to improve, or even just a renewed commitment to keep working on things we’re already doing!  Whichever category you fall into, I sure hope papercrafting and cardmaking is on your list of things to do this year!  One of my goals this year is to ALWAYS have a stash of birthday cards on my shelf.  I feel like, even with the number of cards I make, I’m often scrambling at the last minute to create a card before a party!  Well, this year, I’m going to stop doing that!  So whether you’re looking to start cardmaking for the first time, or (like me) you just want to work on keeping your supply full, here are a few tips I’m going to be implementing! (Here’s a sneak-peek at one of my completed cards, but please read on for details about how it came to be!!)

Getting Started With Cardmaking Blog Post by @wendysue featuring the "Happy Hooray" collection from @PebblesInc.

In order to keep a well-supplied birthday card stash, I’m starting with this awesome sheet full of cute graphics and sentiments from the “Happy Hooray” collection:

Getting Started With Cardmaking Blog Post by @wendysue featuring the "Happy Hooray" collection from @PebblesInc.

It will only take a few minutes to go ahead and cut it apart.  For today’s cards, I want to focus mostly on the little square pieces:

Getting Started With Cardmaking Blog Post by @wendysue featuring the "Happy Hooray" collection from @PebblesInc.

In order to be efficient, I’m going to use the same basic design to create a bunch of cards.  So, from several coordinating patterned papers, I’ll cut the following pieces: (1) 4″ x 5 1/4″  (1) 4″ x 2″ and (1) 4″ piece of a coordinating tear strip.  I will assemble all of the card bases at once.

Getting Start With Cardmaking Blog Post by @wendysue featuring the "Happy Hooray" collection from @PebblesInc.

Next, I will choose several different colors from my baker’s twine stash and tie a bow around each base.  Then I’ll add the squares to the top portion of the card.  Getting Started With Cardmaking Blog Post by @wendysue featuring the "Happy Hooray" collection from @PebblesInc.I want one square flat against the card, and the other one will slightly overlap the first square and be popped-up with foam adhesive.

Now is the time add additional embellishments, if desired, or you could stop here.  I wanted to add some cute sprinkles.  Other options include die-cuts or stickers.

Finally, place the completed piece onto a pre-cut white 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base:

Using the same process (I am a big fan of “assembly line” scrapbooking and cardmaking), create as many cards as you can with your supplies:

I used the same process to create some cards with the larger pieces from the original page:

I’m so excited that I’m getting a good start to one of my goals for this year.  This is a nice stash that should last for at least a few months! (I actually could have made a few more cards from the pieces on the original sheet too!!)

Birthday Cards | Happy Hooray

Hip, hip, hooray everyone!  Heather Leopard is here and not only does October bring cooler weather for us here in Texas but it’s also birthday season for my family.  I love making fun cards and a fun birthday card is probably my most favorite to create.

Gather your supplies

You’ll need your favorite expressions cut to size from patterned paper, and the awesome embellishments (hello, enamel confetti!) from the Happy Hooray collection plus card bases cut to 8.5″ x 11″.  You can download my Silhouette template for card bases and the die cut words HERE.

Let’s get started with birthday card #1

Birthday Card set by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc #HappyHooray collection #madewithpebbles #birthday #happybirthday #birthdaycard #birthdaycards

Fold your card base in half so it measures 4.25″ x 5.5″. Cut the words from my cut file found HERE and arrange them as shown in the photos.  Using matching washi, add some washi banner pennants and then place the large die cut sentiment from the Happy Hooray collection over the washi using foam dots, so that the pennants stick out from the die cut.

Add additional embellishments and enamel confetti for a fun and festive look.

Birthday Card #2

Wanting to wish someone a very happy birthday?  Get your point across with birthday overload.  To create this, fold your card base in half and place it in landscape / horizontal in front of you.  Add the chipboard “HAPPY” banner across the top.  Using that awesome washi again, run a strip across and under the banner to create a border.  Then, cut the words “happy” from the repeat stickers in the collection. Just cut it right down the middle so that you have the words “birthday” remaining.

Birthday Card set by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc #HappyHooray collection #madewithpebbles #birthday #happybirthday #birthdaycard #birthdaycards

Find the center of your card and add 5 birthdays stacked evenly on top of each other.  I kept the stickers on the backing and was able to easily peel from the side and adhere all 5 on at the same time.  Easy breezy.  Next, add the words to the right and left, leaving an even gap in the middle.  Lastly, fill the gap with candles.  Add embellishments as you wish.

Now my birthday cards are complete and I’m ready to celebrate!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Heather

Celebrate With Happy Hooray Mini Birthday Cards

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here with you today sharing the many birthday cards I created with the fabulous new Happy Hooray collection.

I was thrilled when I received this collection! I’m a huge fan of bright colors and cute designs. I also love creating birthday layouts and cards.

For today’s blog post, I created 18 mini birthday cards in one afternoon. I have created a collection of mini cards before, using the beautiful Heart of Home collection and often wished I had birthday cards as well. When I saw this collection, I knew straight away what I was going to create.

Happy Hooray birthday mini cards created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Happy_Hooray_collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #happy_hooray_birthday_mini_cards

All I needed to create these Happy Hooray Mini Birthday Cards was the sheet of patterned paper called “Party Time” and cardstock pieces from the American Crafts “Primaries” textured cardstock pack.

Happy Hooray birthday mini cards created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Happy_Hooray_collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #happy_hooray_birthday_mini_cards

I started by cutting apart all the images and selecting eighteen of them.  Once that was done, I matted them on a piece of cardstock.

I stitched all the sides using my sewing machine before adhering them on a cardstock cardbase.

The squares measure 5 cm x 5 cm and the finished (square) cards measure approx. 6.5 cm x 6.5 cm. The rectangular images measure twice the size of the squares, so they are 5 cm x 10 cm and the finished cards measure approx. 6.5 cm x 12 cm. As the cards are so small, I decided against adding any more embellishments.

The Happy Hooray Mini Birthday Cards can be used to accent gifts or gift boxes, flowers or potted plants, but can (of course!) be used to send in an envelope by mail as well. I also plan to put the “you’re special” and “yay you” mini cards in my kids’ lunch boxes one day so they’ll find them during their lunch breaks. I’m sure they’ll love them!

When my stash of Happy Hooray Mini Birthday Cards was ready, I used the We R Memory Keepers Shadow Box Clip Frame again to showcase them.  I also added two Happy Hooray Cake Toppers for fun. Doesn’t it look festive?!

I “only” used eighteen of the images of the “Party Time” sheet, but I definitely plan on using the other nine images to create mini cards as well!

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog!  The Happy Hooray collection is SO close to being in your hands! I can’t wait for you to get your turn to create!
