Fun Times with Terhi

Hi everyone, it’s Terhi here again!
When you start creating a scrapbook page, which is leading you: the photograph or the products?

For me this answer is simple.
The photographs and the memories. And I must admit sometimes I can’t stop myself from saving a precious photo as long as I find the right supplies for it.
However, this time the process of creating started started very differently, when I saw the most inspiring cut file ever.
*The cut file is from Paige Evans

The beautiful circle design kind of funny one and as I love backing cut files I thought it would be wonderful to use the cut file as a colour wheel, with the brightest colors I could find. So I did and I found, all thanks to Pebbles.
I used patterned papers from “Happy Cake Day” line and created four coloured colour wheel for the background of the page.
I had four selfies waiting for the perfect products to scrapbook with, and I love the way black and white photos goes with colourful design.
Also, these selfies aren’t very seriously taken and the story behind tells about how much we all laugh together, so all the colors and design supports the theme.

Once I was ready with the background, I dived in to my scraps and found lots of colourful blooms to decorate the page. All from Pebbles of course, from the lines below:
Big Top Dreams
Chasing Adventures
This is Family
Heart of Home
I cut out as much flowers and blooms as possible and layered the flowers to make them more dimensional. To create the flowers I followed my own tutorial from last fall, please watch it here from my YouTube channel.

To finish this colourful and fun layout I added the photographs vertically in the middle and wrote a small title with thickers from Big Top Dreams.

Inspiring? Hope so! Let me know what you think by writing a comment below. I’ll be here reading them while I’m waiting to see the new lines from Pebbles arrive at my house.

3 Item Project Challenge

Well, hello Pebbles friends! Guess what? I was issued a challenge to create a project using only 3 items…and it was so much fun! I recently received the “Big Top Dreams” collection and I knew it would be perfect to make little party favors for an upcoming movie night the kids are hosting! Here’s the project I created – keep reading for more details about the three products I chose and how I used them!

3 product challenge: circus themed treat bags by Wendy Sue Anderson featuring the "Big Top Dreams" collection by @PebblesInc.

Here are the three products I chose for each treat bag: Patterned Paper, 3×4 Cards, Printed Die-Cuts.

I used my Silhouette to cut the bag shapes (design ID 45731), but you can use any fun bag cut file or even find a tutorial online for folding your own.

After cutting and assembling the bag, I cut out the 3×4 cards. I did choose to matte each card with coordinating cardstock scraps (I didn’t count these scraps as part of my 3 products).

After attaching the 3×4 cards to the fronts of the bags, I used foam adhesive dots to attach a fun printed die-cut shape to each bag front.

Because I limited the products and didn’t go crazy with embellishing, these bags were super quick and easy to put together! I have about 12 more to create, and I’m sure it won’t take more than 30 minutes after the bags are cut!

That’s all there is to it! I filled each bag with popcorn and tied them closed with some string – easy peasy – and they will be super cut sitting out, all lined up, for the movie party! Any guesses which movie we’ll be watching??

Big Top Dreams Layout

Hello friends, it’s Lucile ! Today I find you for a new layout with the Big Top Dreams collection. When I was little I loved to participate in shows. I wanted to scrape a picture of one of those moments. This photo was taken during a show where I was disguised as a zombie, it makes me laugh a lot.

To realize this layout I used the banner punch board. I cut out red flags and I cut in too. I pasted them on the top of my layout to represent the top of a circus tent.

Then I matted my photo with a paper from the collection. I added a title under my photo. I cut a card from a paper and I added it next to my photo.

Then I decorated around my picture to form a line. I added die cuts representing circus characters and I added gold stars. To highlight some elements, I pasted them with 3D foams.

Finally, I wrote my journaling with my typewriter and I stuck it under my picture. Then, I cut stars in a paper from the collection and I glued them to form a diagonal.

I hope you enjoyed this layout, see you soon for a new creation. Have a Nice day.

Patriotic Activities with Terhi

Hey all and Happy July!
Terhi here with you, just in time to celebrate 4th of July with the citizens of the USA.
I’d like to share something patriotic from here where I live, in Finland. I made this scrapbook layout to capture our story about the way we celebrate our Independence Day, and from the end of this post you can also find a process video to learn how to make similar layout yourself!

Celebrating Independence Day in Finland usually means another snowy day, and therefore our activities during the day are either inside a building or somehow tied up with the snow. In my family the tradition is to go hiking in the snowy woods, set a campfire and have some delicious outdoor food (and hot cocoa!) in crisp freezing air. Sure the day has some other repetitive elements, but I feel this one is the closest to my heart.

Even though the Finnish Independence Day is all white and blue in many, many ways, I chose to create this layout using the Big Top Dreams collection with its amazingly rich colors. These colors shows exactly how much fun it is to slide down a hill with a sled, or be under a snowy tree when another kicks it hard to the arm!

This layout was very easy to do, however fussy cutting all the flowers sure took some time. Take a look to the process video below to see how it all came together. If you can’t see the video here, click here to my YouTube channel.

Hope you feel inspired! Have a fantastic day!

USS Missouri

Hello Pebbles friends. Marcia here today kicking off patriotic week at Pebbles. I pulled lots of red, white, and blue pattern papers from the Oh Summertime, Chasing Adventures, and Big Top Dreams collections and created a layout about a visit to the USS Missouri battleship in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Because I had little in the way of patriotic embellishments, I wanted to make the pattern papers work for me by using a digital cut file I designed myself and creating a fun banner with the Jen Hadfield Banner Punch Board.

That dark blue pattern paper makes a bold statement as my background with the die cut stars don’t you think. To add dimension, I created a festive banner with my Banner Punch Board. I machine stitched these triangles together. I made it a little easier to work with the banner.

Other embellishments were kept to a minimum. The ship in a bottle from the Chasing Adventures collection was the perfect touch, layered on top of a tag.

I used some older Thickers I had in my stash for my title and added a few journaling strips below my banner.

If you are interested in watching my scrapbook process video click on the link below.

There is a lot you can do with just your pattern papers and the right tools! Thanks so much for stopping by today.
