Valentine’s Day Home Decor
Looking to add a little fun Valentine’s Day home decor to your space before the holiday? Working with paper and embellishments makes this cute project created by Designer Amanda Coleman easy to accomplish in a short amount of time!
Valentine’s Day Home Decor
The icons in the Yours Truly collection are so fun and festive I couldn’t resist making a piece of Valentine’s Day home decor to show them off.
I created this piece of decor by mounting several 2″ squares on an 8″x10″ piece of paper with foam squares and inserting it into a frame. I embellished each square with chipboard die cuts and stickers. This decor would be easy to reproduce with your favorite papers and embellishments.
Upcycled Treat Jars
Did you catch the fun Mason jars with 3-D tags we shared this morning? This afternoon we’re back, with a bit more modern take on the treat jar idea with Amanda, from Popper and Mimi.
All year long I save cute jars and cans for those last-minute gift giving moments. Upcycling jars into treat cans is super easy and only takes a few minutes. For extra flair, make your own gift bow to put on top.
I usually choose the jar decor based on the type jar itself. The jar on the left has a very hip and modern feel so I chose a simple candy with clean lines. I chose a modern color palette and kept the tag and bow simple and crisp. The jar on the right has a more rustic and country feel so I dolled it up with festive gingham and plenty of polka dots. And just for fun, I call these the City Mouse and Country Mouse jars.
The tags on each jar are simple but still keep with the overall theme of each jar. I trim most of my tags by hand. I start with a rectangle, snip the corners, and punch a hole in the top. Add a simple sentiment to the tag and the jar is ready to give.
