Do you know that feeling, when you see a new collection for the very first time, and you know exactly what you want to make first??  That’s what happened to me as soon as I saw the new “Along the Way” collection – I just knew I wanted to use these 6″ gold foil sticker sentiments to make some quick and easy cards!  Here’s a look at the first thing I made with this gorgeous new collection:

Isn’t it pretty?  I love the letters and the gold foiling and the fun coordinating papers!  I also did something a little different with this card – I used a black cardstock base!  I usually stick with white, simply because it’s easy to write on the inside.  Keep reading to see how I solved that little issue!  Here’s how this card came together:

I started by cutting the following items: a black card base (6″ x 4″), two coordinating patterned papers (5 3/4″ x 2″), one coordinating paper with a “less busy” pattern to place the letters on (6″ x 1 3/4″), and I gathered some printed die-cuts, gold foiled thickers, and dimensional stickers. I also cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ – this is for the inside of the card.

Start by placing one of the 5 3/4″ strips on the card base with equal amounts of spacing above and on both ends.

Place the second patterned paper to cover the bottom portion of the card base – again, making sure the spacing is even.

Now place the third (less busy pattern) paper over the seam from the first two papers.  This paper is a bit wider, so it will go from edge to edge on the base.  I wanted to leave more space at the top for additional embellishments, so this paper is placed closer to the bottom.

Next, I tucked in two gold foiled and printed die-cuts near the right edge, slightly under the top patterned paper:

Now it’s time to add the beautiful sentiment:

Finally, place the dimensional sticker so it overlaps the sentiment slightly:

And now, to solve the issue of not being able to write on the inside of the black card – place the white cardstock on the inside:

And, just for fun, add a sticker as a little embellishment!

This has to be one of my favorite (and easiest) cards I’ve ever made! In fact, I loved it so much that I made two more almost exactly like it!

I know – you’re shocked, right?!?

These cards are so beautiful – yet so quick and easy – it would be easy to whip up a dozen with various sentiments to have on hand to give to special friends and family!
