Pop-Up New Year’s Card

If you can’t spend New Year’s Eve with someone, do the next best thing and send them a pop-up New Year’s Card! This card is fun and festive and you can whip up one or two (or more) in a limited amount of time – which is exactly how much time we all have during the holidays! Here’s a look at the card – then keep reading for details to create your own!

Start by cutting the year (numbers) from two different patterned papers:

Cut one set of numbers in half

And glue the half piece onto the whole piece for each number

Add foam adhesive dots to the back of the numbers and set them aside for a moment

Now gather the pieces to make the outside of the card

Assemble the pieces as shown:

Wrap white twine around the white piece and tie a bow

Add the numbers and attach to the card front:

Now for the INSIDE!! Gather these items:

Use scissors to cut the cute girl illustration from the tag:

Hello Pebbles Friends! It is Leanne here today with a celebratory blog post to help welcome in the New Year! And what better way to do that than with a little DIY décor? Using Black and White patterned paper as my theme and a little assistance from the We R Memory Keepers Alphabet punch board, a 2019 New Year Banner can be created in moments.

Happy New Year..

Using the Alphabet Punch Board as your guide, trim the patterned paper to 3″x5″. Follow the instructions in the booklet, taking note of the image direction on the patterned paper.

Punch out the individual letters, ensuring the patterned papers form a cohesive balance across the banner.

Thread string through holes punched at the top of the letters. Keep the holes at an even height, allowing the new year banner alphas to sit flat on the string.

Adding Extra..

To further enhance the banner, add 3D stars to hang from the string.

Now all that is left to complete this project, is to hang the New Year banner in an appropriate location and light some sparklers! Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2019 will be amazing..x

Hello lovely Pebbles Fans!
It’s Terhi Koskinen here back with you. It’s Christmas Eve, so I wish you the most wonderful Christmas, or Happy Holidays, no matter what you are celebrating!
Instead of keeping the Holiday theme on mind, my thoughts are already running to the upcoming year.

Usually New year is time for everything new. All new doesn’t have to be brand new, you can also renew existing things if possible. That’s what I like to do, and for making some small home decoration pieces I took couple of frames I’m not using anymore and started altering them for new use.

The frames are very basic, white and cheap, perfect starting point for quick altering! My idea was to make them, or at least one of them, for my office wall to remind me of important things like gratitude, home, family and love. I took my most favorite Pebbles collection ever: Along the Way, and started playing with the butterflies, flowers, houses and much more.

The creating process was simple. Paint the frames, make a background, choose the title and add embellishments. But to explain more and show you all the details, I recorded a process video.

Hopefully the video inspires you to start your own project. Like these frames, the project doesn’t have to be huge and time-consuming. As long as it cheers up your mood, gives you positive energy and happiness, you’re on the right track!

New Year’s Resolution Recipe Book

Have you started thinking about your 2019 New Year’s Resolutions yet? I have! One of my resolutions is to try one new recipe each week. At the end of each month, I will choose one of my favorites and add it to a recipe book – the old fashioned way – by WRITING it down!! I am so excited to try new recipes and find some new faves – and by the end of the year I’ll have a little keepsake worth passing down someday! Here’s a look at my New Year’s Resolution Recipe Book featuring the “Along the Way” collection!

And here’s a look at how I created it:

I started with the “Bakeshop” paper, which is simply six recipe cards, printed front and back with beautiful designs:

Cut them all apart to prepare them for the recipe book.

I used two sheets of the paper so I would end up with 12 cards – one for each month. I may add more if I really love more than one per month, but this is a good starting point.

Using coordinating patterned papers, I created a cover for my little recipe keepsake book. The printed die cuts and gold foiled foam thickers were perfect for my needs! I cut apart a few words to form the word “of.”

To make the cover a little more sturdy, I glued two pieces of patterned paper together. I also created a back cover with patterned papers.

Next, I sandwiched the cards between the covers

These fun pink clips (from a long-ago Pebbles collection) were perfect to clip it all together. Of course, a twine bow is a fun addition to ANY project!

2018 Mini Album

Hello Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today, sharing a 2018 Mini Album of memories. I have taken this opportunity, as holiday celebrations approach and this time of year becomes overwhelmingly busy, to step back and reflect on the many wonderful memories I have of 2018. I wanted to create a mini album that would also host not just specific details of memories but a more collective and overall study of the year. And I wanted to get these thoughts in order before 2019 hopes and dreams become the next focus.

This mini album is 4″x6″ in size and has been created using the glorious Pebbles Inc Along The Way collection. The fresh colours and abundant ephemera helped to establish all the base pages. One thing about mini albums that I love in particular is the way ephemera, tags and other items edge out between the pages. These tactile pages include sewing, journaling pockets and hidden depths that bring another dimension of joy to my memories.

The beauty of this mini album is also how inclusive it frames the 4″x4″ photos. The pages are not overtly feminine as you would expect with multiple floral patterned papers. Nestled among the patterned papers, photos of my three sons and husband aren’t lost to the world of pretty papers!

2018 Mini Album…

To recreate this mini album start by gathering your supplies. As mentioned, the Along The Way patterned papers is my collection of choice. My photos were printed directly from my family Instagram account which already had a steady source of memories documented from throughout the year. As a side note, at the time of taking the photos of the actual mini album, my journaling has not been filled in. As you look through the pages below, you will clearly see where I have left ample space to document.

Here’s a look at the front cover.

Two layers of patterned paper and one layer of cardstock, gives the cover strength and durability to withstand handling from my family. Stitched together ensures not only the strength of the page but adds an element of dimensional design. The title has been cut using an electronic die-cutting machine and embellishments have been kept to a minimum on the right hand side.

To keep all the pages together, the mini album has been secured with a single jump ring in the top left corner. I have used one 4″x6″ template to keep the hole placement uniform throughout the album. All base pages are trimmed to 4″x6″ with the exception of one. See more details below.

Inside the mini album…

Directly on the inside cover I have adhere a full 4″x6″ photo of my family. Minus me of course, but then someone has to be the photographer!!

The page opposite has been created using Along The Way patterned paper. Patterned paper cut aparts, are realigned to create a simple hidden journaling flap that opens downwards. Each sentiment on the cards is perfectly apt to convey my thoughts. Secure the flap with a score line 2mm from the bottom and then machine stitch below the score line. Machine stitch a paper tab to the side of the flap to help open the hidden element.

The rest of the mini album is relatively straight forward in design. Check out the next few pages including two photos adhered back to back.

Make sure there is plenty of space on some pages to add journaling.

The next image is a recreation of the first page in the mini album. The location of the hidden journaling flap is on the opposite side of the page.

Pages with no photos…

Mini album pages can include embellishments only. Journaling space will document household and day to day happenings or a daily routine.

Towards the back of the mini album, I wanted to created some interest by switching up the size of the pages without it being too noticeable.

This page is trimmed to 4″x9″. Score a fold line at the 6″ mark and adhere a photo overlapping the new 4″x3″ space. Back the photo with another photo or patterned paper of similar size.

To complete the mini album, have some fun with layered dimension using pop dots and the 2″x2″ sentiments.

Adhere another 4″x6″ photo directly to the back cardstock cover of the album and complete with a border of machine stitching.

The beauty of this mini album is its simplicity. I can happily add more pages to the album at will. I hope I have inspired you to jot down your memories of the year before the new one is in full force! Happy Holidays and thanks for visiting the blog today..x
