Winter “Hello” Card Set

Whenever I think about Winter, I think of pure white drifted snow, covering the rather drab (and dare I say, UGLY) cold world around me.  I think of cozy fires and hot chocolate (with plenty of whipped cream on top).  I think of beautiful snowflakes and glistening icicles.  I think of rosy red cheeks and noses on my kiddos when they rush in through the front door after spending hours out sledding and building snowmen.  Yes, Winter invokes many beautiful images and thoughts for me.  So when I was assigned to create a set of cards with the theme “Winter,” I wanted to do my best to translate the images in my mind to paper.  Here’s what I came up with:

Winter Hello Cards by @wendysuea featuring the #cottageliving collection by @pebblesinc.

Wintery, but not cheesy or too cutesy (although I am the first to admit that I L.O.V.E. cutesy and cheesy, it’s just not the look I always want to portray).  Here’s how I made this card set using the brand new “Cottage Living” collection by Jen Hadfield.

I started with the polaroid die and created two frames.

Next, I used the super cute “hello” die to cut two words from a darker gray paper (from the 6×6 pad because I wanted the pattern to be small and subtle).

I also used a die I had on hand to cut some snowflakes out of patterned papers from the 6×6 paper pad.  You could also use electronic die-cut shapes, or even cut the snowflakes by hand!

I knew I wanted to use white for my card bases, so I cut two 4 1/4″ x 11″ strips, then scored them in the center and folded them. I wanted these cards to open at the top, rather than the traditional left hand side.

Now I wanted to add a bit of  “glisten and gleam” to the background, so I pulled out the gold glitter mist that coordinates with this collection.

I use the boxes that my scrapbooking supplies come in when I order from online stores as a misting box.  This one is kind of like a pizza box – I love that it’s small and portable – and if I wanted to store my mists inside, it would be perfect for that too!  Shake the mist really well – get the glitter mixed in – and spray! I always like to take a couple of practice sprays to make sure everything is flowing perfectly.

Don’t worry if your paper bows up like mine did – it will flatten out when the mist is dry.

Check out that shine!  Isn’t it fun?!?  After the mist is completely dry, add the frame to the card base.

Next, add the snowflake to the center of the frame opening.

It’s fun just like this, but I like to add extra dimension, so I opted to use foam adhesive squares on the back of a smaller snowflake and then add it over the center of this one.

Now I’m ready to add the sentiment:

And this is where I thought I was done. Until I decided that a little more shine was in order! These jewels ought to do the trick:

Ahhh, I think that is perfect!

I followed the same steps for my second card.

I can’t wait to share my wintery “hello” cards with some friends; hopefully it will brighten someone’s day!

We love seeing products used in a unique and unexpected way. Join Nina Yang as she shares a fun set of handmade hello cards using our very patriotic Americana collection.

PB_Americana

Hello everyone! Nina here again! We are featuring Americana this week on Pebbles Blog and today I would like to share the possibilities of this happy collection beyond a Fourth of July styled project.

I made two quick and simple Hello cards for today! The best thing about them is that I used only one piece of paper for two different looks!

Handmade hello cards created using @PebblesInc #Americana collection by @ninacrafting #handmade #cards #summer

The paper I used is called: Bright Stars, which has tiny stars on one side. How perfect are they for a summery hello card?

I trimmed my 12×12 paper to 4-1/4” x 11” and fold in half lengthwise to create the cardbase. I used the small piece that was trimmed off to create a band and adhered the pinwheel embellishment on top.

I love the B side of this paper. The colorful stripes make me happy! I paired it with the beautiful flower stickers, cut the sentiment “Beautiful” out from another paper in Americana collection called: Home of the Brave to make my card.

And here are the supplies I used. All from our Americana collection:

Hello Spring Scrapbook Layout

The new flowers popping their heads up through the firm ground and kids running around in the yard are some of the first signs of spring. They also create an itchy need to capture the “new” with your camera, don’t you think? We love the adorable photos captured by Becky Williams in this fun spring scrapbook layout.

SpringWhen the Garden Party collection was first revealed, I was immediately drawn to the folded paper butterflies! They are so beautiful and I had to use them on this spring scrapbook page.

I used the pink polka dotted butterfly along with butterfly stickers and cardstock butterflies from the same collection.

The “spring” sun was cut from one of the Phrase Cards and adds a fun, happy accent to my page.

Happy Birthday Card Set

Hi Friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a set of quick and easy birthday cards! I wanted to make a set of cards with the unique peek-a-boo strip on the right side. In other words, the front of the card is just a bit more narrow than the back – and the stripe that appears to be on the right edge of the front is actually the back, so it’s still visible when the card is open.

I used products from a few different collections, but mainly from the Happy Cake Day collection. (You’ll find some Sun & Fun and Hey Hello mixed in as well. Want to see how easy it is to make these cards? First, you’ll need a few supplies:

And in just a few quick steps, you can have a completed card (or set of cards)! Step 1 is adding the strip to the right edge.

Now cover the front of the card with a coordinating patterned paper:

Use a small circle punch to create notches in the fatter paper strip – wrap with string and tie in a bow. Add this piece to the card front.

Now place the 3×4 card on the front. Use foam adhesive square for added dimension if desired!

Next, add a puffy sticker just for a bit of whimsy!

That’s it! The card is complete!

Repeat the same process to create an entire set of fun and unique cards!

Mother’s day cards

Hello crafty friends, it’ Lucile. Today I find you to create two simple and colorful Mother’s Day cards. To make these cards, I used the Hey Hello collection from Pebbles. I wanted to make cards with flowers because my mother loves it and there are lots of beautiful flowers in this collection and it is perfect for spring!

To make the first card, I selected 6 papers from the collection and I cut out circles. Then I cut my circles into two parts. To make the base of the card, I cut a 16 cm square, in the center, I cut with my Cameo silhouette “Happy Mothers day!”.

Then I drew two circles and placed my semi circles all around. I sewn them with white thread. Finally, I pasted stickers of flowers with 3D foam and I added gold foliage. I stuck my card on a colored paper from the collection to highlight it.

For the second card, I cut a 16cm white sheet. I wanted to create an envelope from which flowers escape. I started by making my envelope, I was inspired by a stichers from the collection. I designed my envelope and to add relief, I sewed the contours of my envelope. With my cutting machine, I cut “Happy Mothers day!” as on the first card.

Then I had fun sticking flowers out of the envelope. I glued them with 3D foam. I stuck stickers on my envelope and added two butterflies. Finally, to make a reminder with the first card, I pasted my card on colored paper.

I hope you like these two cards with the Hey Hello collection from Pebbles and give you ideas for Mother’s Day! See you soon.
