Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books

School’s almost out for summer. This brings a wave of changes–both good and challenging–to our household. Boredom tops the list of struggles that both the kids and I will have to deal with this summer. Pulling weeds and folding laundry aren’t my kids’ idea of boredom busters, whereas I think they are a perfectly acceptable cure for boredom.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionAlthough it would be nice to let my kids sit in front of the TV all day, deep down I know better and try to keep a few educational activities on hand for those super boring summer days. With a few sheets of sudoku and crossword patterned papers, you can create some stimulating activity books in a snap.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionCreate a fun cover page by adding some Thickers and a few cute stickers. Create a simple border with a black pen. No fuss here.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionI know, I know. I spelled colossal wrong. And where in the world did I come up with rhodium? Making up your own crossword is quite challenging. While these crossword pages aren’t traditional, it is kinda fun to fill in as many spaces as possible. I highly recommend using a pencil.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionPebbles knows how to put the fun in functional. How adorable are these sudoku and crossword papers? Each Thinking of You sudoku paper has 16 puzzles, and you can trim nine 13×13 crossword puzzles from the Puzzled paper. Seriously fun times ahead.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionCreate the book pages by cutting pieces of patterned paper that are about 2″ wider than the puzzle. This will give you enough space to create a binding while giving the puzzle-doer enough space to write. Adhere the puzzles to the right-hand side of the page.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionScore each page 3/4″ from the left. Adding the score line makes it easier to open the pages of the book. Also, I am not really left handed.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionCreate the binding by using a Crop o Dile hole punch and eyelet setter. This baby punched through 13 pieces of patterned paper with no problem. Keep it simple by only punching the binding twice.

Easy Sudoku and Crossword Activity Books by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Happy Day collectionI like to add my eyelets one at a time so my binding doesn’t get wonky between punches. Add at least two eyelets to the binding, or more if you’re feeling fancy.

Disney Pocket Pages – Meeting Merida

Hello, Renee here today to share a Disney Pocket Page spread for my Project Life Disney Album. I’m using the Jen Hadfield Cottage Living collection for these pages of my girls meeting their FIRST Disney Princess…Merida from the Disney/Pixar movie Brave. Merida was SO fun, sweet and great! The girls were completely starstruck. Happy girls right here.

As you can see, I used the new We R Memory Keepers Photo Sleeve Fuse Tool for these pages. I love this tool! I used it along with the 4 x 6 Fuse Sleeves for my Photo Pocket Pages Designs C & D.

I started by trimming off a bit of the Fuse Sleeve because I wanted to use it for my vertical photos.

I lined up the Fuse Sleeve seam to the seam on the Photo Pocket Page (Design D) and placed the Ruler Stencil on top of the seam.

My Fuse Tool was ready to use (after 10 minutes) and I moved it slowly and firmly along the Ruler Stencil.

Done. So easy. I feel like it fused perfectly together.

I placed my photos inside to test it out…

…and WOW!  Awesome!  How cool is this tool?  I just love it!

Here are the pages again completely done using the beautiful Cottage Living collection.

I added a lot of fussy cut flowers to both pages. Here’s a closer look at the left page. I love these black & gold foil Thickers I used for my title.

I used the We R Memory Keepers 3 x 4 Card Punch to trim the “Smile” card. I stamped a frame I cut from the Gallery Wall pattern paper with the “I adore you” phrase and used a gold Jumbo Paperclip to attach it to the photo.

I love that I can use the paperclip to flip the photo up.

Here’s a closer look at the right page. I used a frame from the Gallery Wall pattern paper for this photo of Merida signing the girls’ autograph books.

I cut the Gold Foil Accent Cardstock Hello pattern paper to 4 x 6 and simply placed it into a photo pocket. It looks great.

I have to admit that I hoarded this Mint with Gold Foil Dots pattern paper for something special. This project is very special and it went so well with it. I love how these black and white Thickers pop against the mint and gold.

I used the Jumbo Paperclip again to flip up my Fuse Sleeve (this time it’s fused horizontally) to reveal the questions and answers that the girls had for Merida. I wanted to add these to jump start their memories of their time with Merida.

All of these awesome photos were taken by a Disney World cast member so that I could take this video.  I love it when Payton’s left foot goes up when she’s nervous.

Easy Mothers Day Gift Idea

Hello! Becki here to share with you an easy and quick Mother’s Day gift idea. I used to dread Mother’s Day because I worried about finding the perfect gift for my mom. As I’ve gotten older and I’m a mom myself I’ve realized that finding the perfect gift doesn’t matter. As a mom I just want to know that my kiddos are thinking about me and I’ve realized that my mom is the same way. She would much prefer a visit from her kids and grandkids over a fancy present. This year I created a small gift bag that I’m putting a small flower and a gift card in for my mom and my mother-in-law.

I used the Cottage Living collection and the Gift Bag Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers. These two products made creating my Mother’s Day projects so quick and easy!

I started by collecting a few supplies. I got some patterned paper, Thickers, embellishments and the punch board.

Created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc using the Cottage Living collection by @tatertotsandjelloUsing this punch board I was able to create two cute little gift bags in just a couple of minutes.

Created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc using the Cottage Living collection by @tatertotsandjelloThen the fun part began. I added just a few little embellishments and some Thickers to basic kraft tags.

Created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc using the Cottage Living collection by @tatertotsandjelloI stitched the Thickers onto the tags so I was sure they wouldn’t fall off of my gift bags.

Created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc using the Cottage Living collection by @tatertotsandjelloAfter that I added a flower and a gold clip to the top of the kraft tag.

Created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc using the Cottage Living collection by @tatertotsandjelloThen I adhered the tag to the gift bag. Easy, easy easy.

Created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc using the Cottage Living collection by @tatertotsandjelloThe final touch was a couple of small staples at the top of the tag. I stapled the tag to the gift bag just to make sure the tag stayed put.

I added some cute little violas inside the gift bag along with a gift card and my Mother’s Day gifts are ready to go!

Mother’s Day Mini Album

Hello Friends! Amy here, visiting from The Happy Scraps. I’m so delighted to be here today sharing this fun little Mini Album, perfect to give Grandma for Mother’s Day.

Grandma-mothers-day-gift

I started by collecting my supplies.

supplies

Using my electronic die cutting machine, I cut my chipboard into the shapes I wanted for the pages.

chipboard-pages

Next, I cut the same images out of the paper. I flipped the images and cut them for the back sides of the chipboard as well. I ran them through my sticker maker to make it easier to adhere all the paper to the chipboard pages.

sticker-paper

I adhered the paper to the chipboard.

adhere-paper

Once I had all the patterned paper adhered to the chipboard, I punched holes for the binding using the Cinch.

cinch-punch-holes

I cut the binding down to the size I needed it for this book.

cut-binding-to-size

Then put the pages on the binding and closed the binding.

Now you are ready to embellish your cute little book. I started by adding letters using Thickers to the front cover.

thickers

Next I made some little flowers for the cover as well. I hand cut out some circles in different sizes. Layered them, pierced a hole, and used a brad to hold them together.

I adhered the flowers to the front of the album. I attached the larger one directly down on the page, and I used dimension squares for the smaller one, adding a little bit of height.

I continued through the book, adding the words to write “Home is where Grandma is” using the Thickers. I also embellished using ribbon & twine, and adding the little clip on the second page. I had each of my boys draw a little picture for grandma, and then I added a couple of family pictures at the end. You can see each page below.

I also added some ribbon to the binding. I think it’s such a fun touch!

I’m sure that grandma will love to receive such a fun little gift, because it is so personal.

Gift Bag and Easy Tag Set

Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue again, sharing my most recent happy little project with you!  I really love giving little “just because” gifts to family members and friends.  Seeing the look of surprise in someone’s eyes when you give them a special little gift, just out of the blue, is the BEST!  It’s really easy to do these types of things, without a lot of planning ahead, if you have a nice stash of gift cards, gift bags, gift tags, etc. on hand.  I recently discovered that my stash was getting low.  I decided to use some fun little phrase cards from the “happy day” collection to create some quick and easy tags.  And of course, I had to use the coordinating papers, along with my Gift Bag punch board, to create some sweet little gift bags – just perfect for tucking in a delicious treat…chocolate anyone?!?

tag and bag set by @wendysuea featuring the "happy day" collection by @pebblesinc

I trimmed some of the 3×4 cards from the “weekend” patterned paper.  I knew I wanted to use these cards to make some really easy tags.

tag and bag set by @wendysuea featuring the "happy day" collection by @pebblesinc

I trimmed the excess “white space” from the left and right sides of the images.

tag and bag set by @wendysuea featuring the "happy day" collection by @pebblesinc

Then I created the top of the tag shape with my gift bag punch board.  I simply lined up the left edge with the “start line” and punched.

Next, I flipped the card over, lined up the other edge with the “start line” and punched again.

Easy!

To finish off my tag, I cut a small square piece of coordinating paper from the 6×6 paper pad and added it to the tag toptag and bag set by @wendysuea featuring the "happy day" collection by @pebblesinc

Followed with a pretty enamel dot!

tag and bag set by @wendysuea featuring the "happy day" collection by @pebblesinc

I followed the instructions included with the Gift Bag Punch board to create a “medium” gift bag, cutting my paper at 7″ for the height.

I attached the tag to the gift bag.

And now it’s ready and waiting to be filled with a yummy treat for a special somebody…whenever the mood strikes!
