Candy Heart Gumball Machine

Happy February!  Amanda here today with a super cute and super fun Valentine’s Day craft.  Conversations are my all time favorite Valentine’s Day candy.  I love the colors, the little messages, and the fun little heart shapes.  I almost fell over when I saw the UR Sweet paper from the We Go Together collection.  It was everything I loved about conversation hearts on a single sheet of paper.  I thought it would be fun to pair this  cute paper with some candy conversation hearts to create a Valentine’s Day gift.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincValentine’s Day pretty is pretty low key at our house, but every year I like to make my kids a fun little candy gift.   I gathered a few plastic Christmas ornaments (the kind that come in two halves) and some patterned paper and put my die cutting machine to work.  A few minutes later and I had some cute little gifts ready for Valentine’s Day.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincThe gumball machine base is the key to the whole project.  I found that resizing the base to be the same diameter as the ornament makes for a well balanced gumball machine.  And although not functional, the little dial on the front is still a lot of fun.  Secure the spinner with a brad to add an interactive element to your gumball machine.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincTie the halves of the plastic ornament together with a piece of baker’s twine and top with a conversation heart sticker.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincBefore you begin assembling the gumball machine base, adhere the dial components to the base.  This will eliminate a lot of hassle after the base is assembled.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincFold the tabs on the bottom piece, one at a time, before you adhere the larger gumball base piece.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincApply a strong adhesive (I prefer This to That double sided red tape) to the inside of the gumball base and not to the tabs on the bottom portion of the base.  Adhere tabs one at a time as you work your way around in a circle.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincAs you near the end of the base, apply double sided red tape to the inner tab and adhere the base together.

Candy Heart Gumball Machine by @popperandmimi using We Go Together papers from @pebblesincWhen you are done, your base should look like this.  Gently fold the top tabs inward and place your ornament on top.

Valentine’s Day Cards

Hi Pebbles friends!  It’s Wendy Sue here with you today, sharing a project for this week’s “hearts” theme.  I love giving cards to friends and family members all through the year, but it seems like there’s something extra special about Valentine’s Day cards.  I think this is the one holiday that people, even people who aren’t as crazy about paper crafting as I am, will sit down and create a handmade card.  It’s appropriate that the holiday centered around LOVE also encourages people to make their own cards, with their own two hands, to share their feelings of love and friendship!  This is the first card I created for Valentine’s Day this year:

Isn’t it darling?!?  I didn’t buy it…but I did snap a quick photo or two to use as inspiration for a project!

When I got back home, I pulled out my heart confetti – almost identical colors to the knots in the pillow!  And so I began:

I opted to use a pre-made kraft card from American Crafts for the base of my project:

Valentine's Day Cards by @wendysuea using @pebblesinc We Go Together collectionI dumped out the heart confetti and used the packaging as a template.  I traced around the heart shape, very lightly, with a pencil.

Valentine's Day Cards by @wendysuea using @pebblesinc We Go Together collectionI added some machine stitching around the shape, just to help define the heart shape, and add a touch of hand-made whimsy.

And since I had a whole package of blank cards, and a slew of confetti hearts in front of me, I decided to create a few more cards while I was at it!  Here are a few additional ideas for adding heart confetti to a card:

Valentine’s Day Treats for Kids

Children's Classroom Valentine's Day Cards & Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #WeGoTogether collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

Hello there!  It’s Mendi here today popping in with some sweet little Valentine’s Treats perfect for your child to exchange with classmates.  As soon as I saw the sheet of 12 little Valentines I knew I wanted to find a fun project to use them on!  I was looking for a project that would be easy to mass produce for a class of 24 children and could include some candy.  What’s Valentine’s day without candy, right?

I decide on these sweet little sleeves filled with Sweethearts candy.  Best of all I was able to get a 2 lb. bag making this a really affordable project to hand out.  🙂

Children's Classroom Valentine's Day Cards & Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #WeGoTogether collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

Step 1:  To create these, start by cutting your 12×12 paper into 4-inch strips. (you can get 3 treat bags from each piece of paper so including the sheets of cutout, I used 10 sheets of paper to make 24 valentines).

Step 2:  Score your paper at 5″, 5.5″, 6″ and 11″.  This will form the accordion fold at the bottom of your treat bag and the flap at the top.  If you have a print that has a definite top and bottom, make sure to have the top of the print face the zero score line so that the patterned paper design will be upright when folded.

Step 3:  Fold the treat sleeve along the score lines and add the 3×4 inch valentine to the front.

Step 4:  Adhere a line of scor-tape just below the fold line of the top flap.    Fill a small 4×6 clear bag with candies and fold over bag and adhere to tape.  I calculated the 2 lb. bag gives each kid 25 to 30 candies for a 24-student classroom.

Step 5:  Using a ruler, find the center of the bag and punch two holes in the top flap, punching through all the layers.

Step 6:  String the holes with twine and tie a bow.  A little trick I figured out to make the process quicker was to thread a fat needle with a long piece of twine so that I could easily thread the holes without my twine unraveling.  This allowed me to tie 4 or 5 bows quickly before repeating the process.

There you have it!  Easy and really fun to make!  I decided to finish off mine by adding a little die-cut border to my flap for an extra detail, but they are cute either way.

Hello Pebbles Fans, Holly here from Ribbons & Glue. February is only a few days away  now which means it’s almost Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s crafts are some of my favorite crafts to make. Every year, I tend to add a few home decor pieces to my Valentine’s collection. This year I embellished a painted Valentine’s Canvas with epoxy stickers from the Pebbles Inc. We Go Together collection.

Valentine's Canvas made with @pebblesinc We Go Together collection by @ribbonsandglue

To make this Valentine’s Canvas, I painted an 8 x 8 canvas with chalky finish paints, then used my Silhouette to cut out a stencil to trace out the #14.

After my paints were dry, I embellished the canvas with We Go Together epoxy heart  and phrase stickers and red glitter foam stickers.  Aren’t those epoxy phrase stickers sooo cute?!

Valentine’s Date Jar

Hi everyone! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I will show you how to make a cute date jar with the We go together collection from Pebbles. Me and my husband often want to do something fun in the evenings but we never know what to do! this jar is full of ideas and the best part is that you can put all the thing you would like to do together.

The first thing you have to do is cover the lid. I used some red washi tape, but you can paint it or maybe use some permanent ink.

To do the quilling hearts cut 6 inch long strips of paper and write what you want on the inside.

Bend them in half and curl the edges inside until you reach the middle section.

Decorate your jar and include a tag with a legend. I used pink strips for dinner ideas, red for dinner plus an activity and teal for stay at home dates.
