Plan a Summer Party for the Girls!

Even though it’s raining outside my window today, I know summer is coming…eventually! Instead of being sad because the weather is gloomy, I’m choosing to plan for the sunny days ahead by planning a fun little summertime party for the girls! I used the “Chasing Adventures” collection to whip up a few fun party elements! Here’s a look at the entire set:

I started by creating the fun “summer” banner.

I used my Silhouette machine to cut the background banners and the letters.

The rectangles were cut with a metal die, then I used multiple colors of thread to stitch around the edges with my sewing machine.

To finish it off, I added printed die cuts and stickers to embellish each banner, then strung it all together with yellow twine!

I made these cute little favor bags by cutting a shape with my digital die-cutting machine. Each bag was then embellished with cute tags cut from one of the patterned papers in the collection. These cute bags are the perfect size to fill with a little treat or gift! I’m thinking some chocolates and nail polish would be a fun summer-ish gift!

What’s a party without cupcakes? It’s easy to dress up beautiful cupcakes purchased from a favorite bakery (these were from Sweet Tooth Fairy – YUM!). I simply glued the cute girl printed die-cuts onto sucker sticks, then placed them in the center. The wraps were simply cut from patterned papers with the Silhouette – easy peasy!

And, of course, after eating those delicious cupcakes, we might need a little drink. These water bottles were easy to dress up by wrapping a strip of patterned paper over the labels. And the straws are extra cute now – wrapped with washi tape and embellished with a fun little printed die-cut!

Whether you’re already experiencing summertime temperatures, or you’re dreaming of sunny days ahead, don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate with your girls! Happy summer!!

Splish and Splash with Terhi

Hello lovely Pebbles Fans! Terhi here again with another scrapbook layout using scraps and the, oh so wonderful, Oh Summertime collection!

First, let me guess. We all have tons and tons of scraps and left overs in our drawers, or wherever each of us are storing the piles of patterned papers? Right? I do, and I agree! For me this is one of the problems which I have tried to solve in many ways.

When I first started scrapbooking, each piece of paper was so precious I couldn’t even think to throw any away. I bought each paper I liked – which often meant way more than I needed. I used a piece of paper for one layout, then stored the rest and didn’t want to create another page with the same paper. Soon I had to start considering either scrapbooking quicker and more or really finding another way to store all. That’s when my sweet daughters came to help. I let them choose anything from my leftovers to their crafts and it was a perfect way to make all of us happy.

Nowadays I have learned to buy supplies I only really love. It’s been working well, and my girls still likes to use my left overs. Sometimes I have shared some paper love to my nieces too.

This layout was created with an idea of how to use scraps. I used this Oh Summertime collection for the first time ever, so I didn’t have any real scraps at all. That’s why I took a paper with 2×2 squares and cut all out. That’s something that could be in my left overs. The easiest solution for small scraps is to go with a grid.

Grid design can be strictly straight like mine here is, but just as much it can be mixed up. I used foam tape to attach each 2×2 piece onto white cardstock, and printed out couple of similar sized photos.

Some of the 2×2 are left as they are, but next to each photograph is a cluster of embellishments to bring more attention. I fussy cut some blooms, and used my electronic cutting machine to cut some leaves to decorate the page. And finally there’s the Splish and Splash, which are absolutely favourite pieces of the collection for the glitter and dark blue color!

What you do to your scraps? Do you save all? Do you throw all away? Let me know in the comments! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Vacay love

Hey everyone, Michelle back here today with a new LO to share using the beautiful Chasing Adventure collection. If you have a soft spot for florals like I do you are absolutely going to love this collection. The patterns have a fun tropical vibe, perfect for vacation and summer photos!

One of my favorite things to do is create backgrounds with cut files. I used a heart strip cut file from The Cut Shoppe and placed it in a repetitive pattern. I didn’t want it to be too busy so I just used 3 different pattern papers.

Another of my new favorite things to do on a LO is to add stitching. It doesn’t have to be a lot to make a big effect. Sometimes I use my sewing machine and sometimes I stitch by hand. I wanted to keep it subtle on my LO so I used white on the hearts and then I framed it with some light pink.

I like to stick to just a few main colors on my LO’s. The pinks and greens went so well together and just screamed out summer to me. It was the perfect color palette to compliment this sweet photo of my daughter.

Thanks for stopping by!

A summer-themed project with Anna, our guest designer for the day!

Hello Pebbles fans. My name is Anna Komenda and I am so happy to be here as a Guest Designer. I had a freedom of creating whatever I wanted… so I decided to play with the “Patio Party” and “My Bright Life” collections. We are in the middle of winter here in Poland and I miss warm, summer days so much. I love coming back to those memories to brighten up cold and gray winter days.

I decided to scrap some pictures of my daughter picking up fruits at my parent’s orchard. Both the “Patio party” and “My Bright Life” collections have some cute strawberries, watermelons and cherries as embellishments, so it was easy to match this theme.

I created a dreamy, watercolor background and added a composition made of few pattern papers. It was a fast and easy job. You can follow my creative process by watching the video I recorded for you HERE.

It was a pleasure to be here with you. If you want to stay in touch with me, you can follow me on Instagram.

Thank you for stopping by.

Capturing life along the way with Guest, Natalie

Hi friends! I am Natalie Dill and I’m THRILLED to be guest designing for Pebbles today!

I used the lovely new collection from Jen Hadfield called Along the Way to create this 8.5×11 layout about my sweet puppy girl.

@scrappinhappy we love all the elements you added to this darling page featuring your fur baby! Thanks for being a guest at @pebblesinc!

The base kraft paper is actually from the Pebbles Cozy & Bright 12×12 paper pad. I sewed it to a white background paper using a zig zag border stitch. The 6×8 Along the Way patterned paper pad is perfection when creating an 8.5×11 layout! Cutting lengths of the patterned paper down the 8 inch side in different widths built my middle layer strip. I used a lacy paper punch for the border strip on that yummy pink piece, and I popped up my photo with some adhesive foam for added dimension.

I picked some of my favorite ephemera pieces from the icon and phrases packs to embellish, and I chose pieces with black on each to tie them together from top to bottom.

I love allowing a bit of the die cut to come off the page. It will stick out the protector a bit, but adds great interest! I used some gold and black sprays for splatter and a gold wax seal for mixed media embellishing.

I loved using this soft, homey collection to document my dog in her napping element. The sentiments are great for documenting your home life and cozy moments!
