A Sunshiny Days Sweet Summer Sand Castle

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here today sharing my Sunshiny Days Summer DIY project: a Sand Castle! Does anything get better than sandcastles on the beach? Why yes! Candy-filled sandcastles!

Once I saw the sand castle cut file in the Silhouette Store, I knew I wanted to try it out.  When I heard that the theme for this week was “Pool/Beach Days,” it took me 2 seconds to decide what to make: a Summer Sweets Sand Castle! Look how fun it turned out!

Sweet Summer Sand Castle created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #sweet_summer_sand_castle #sweets_sand_castle

For the base of the sweets sand castle, I used American Crafts light yellow cardstock from the cardstock Spring pack.  I used five different patterned papers & lots of stickers (including cardstock, chipboard AND puffy stickers). Initially I thought I would use the die-cuts too, but they were too large for this project.

I began by cutting out all the different pieces from the sand castle cut file ( #139538 from the Silhouette Store) and put them in front of me on my dining room table.

Next, I folded all the parts to get the dimension started:

To glue the parts together, I used a little liquid glue. I have to admit in the beginning, after cutting out all the separate parts, I doubted my decision to create the sand castle.  How was I going to put it together! Once the first few pieces came together, I could totally see how it would finish! It came together with just a little effort after that.Sweet Summer Sand Castle created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #sweet_summer_sand_castle #sweets_sand_castle

Attaching the sides of the three towers together:

Adhering the patterned paper to the front & back of the cardstock:

After gluing the front & back sand castle shapes to the the three towers (as well as both patterned paper sides), the sand castle was more or less done. I made two flags (what is a castle without a flag, right?) and embellished the sand castle with many of various fabulous Sunshiny Days stickers (cardstock, chipboard and puffy)to finish it off just right:

The darling chipboard flamingo had to be included!

The only thing left to do was fill the left and right towers with sweets!

I so adore the result! The sand castle turned out even better than I had in mind beforehand! I loved the cut file straight away, but the finished project looks so much more fun with the awesome Pebbles Sunshiny Days collection! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

Picnics and BBQs Layout with Girl Squad!

Hello Pebbles Friends! Today I’m sharing a layout which celebrates friends who are practically family! These guys are some of our absolute favorite people.  One of the things we love to do is get together and eat! We have regular barbecue sessions at each other’s homes, with all the kids eating outside picnic style!

I’ve chosen the Girl Squad collection to create this layout because of its fabulous colours and distinctively fun flair! You aren’t limited in the reach of this collection—it is definitely meant for documenting more than just girl moments.

The photo used on this layout is quite busy, and because it has a lot going on in it, I wanted to have a bold background to neutralise the fuss. The black patterned paper grounds the elements in the photo while the white ledger style patterned paper opens up the page almost like a blank canvas.

I then layered patterned paper from the mini paper pad. The colour palette is still fun and coordinates with the colours in the photograph.

To add interest to my layout, I trimmed three sentiment squares from the Hello Friend patterned paper. I also fussy cut matching colour flowers to add to the element cluster triangle on the layout.

The title has been created by using the foam thicker stickers from the Girls Squad collection and have been strategically placed onto the edge of the white patterned paper to prevent it from blending into the background.

When adding some of the elements to the page, try to work in a piece that might enhance your layout. Make it pop by adding foam tape for dimension.

Finally, add some journaling to complete your layout.

I hope you found this layout to be inspirational, helping you to think outside the box when using themed collections.

Thank you for visiting.

DIY Indoor BBQ Picnic

Hi everyone. It’s Heather Leopard and I am sharing a DIY Indoor Picnic Idea with you today.  I don’t know about you but I love picnics. We do them as a family all the time but they aren’t always a normal picnic at the park. We also picnic in the front and back yard but what my girls really love to do is picnic in the house. We basically layout out blankets and/or towels in a room other than our dining room and there’s just something really fun and special about it.

DIY Indoor Picnic

I surprise my girls with an indoor picnic every couple of months because sometimes it just seems like the fun thing to do.  Just don’t plan to do it on spaghetti night due to the fact that it can be a mess.  While you can certainly use your normal dishes for an indoor picnic, I figured we should make it fun by creating a picnic caddy for the house. As a result, it’s basically everything we need in one little package.

Create a picnic caddy

You can use a box or a crate for this, an upcycled fast food drink tote or almost anything you’d like. I had cardstock and my die cut machine therefore, I chose to make one out of paper.

This is great for utensils, condiments, straws, napkins, you name it. While it’s not carrying anything especially heavy, it holds up pretty good. You probably don’t want to load it up with drinks unless you really reinforce it.

Add some custom plates

DIY BBQ Picnic by @heatherleopard using the #SunshinyDays collection by @pebblesinc

I wanted to create custom plates so I bought clear plastic plates and lined them with patterned paper.  Simply trace the center of the plate on your favorite patterned paper, cut it out and adhere it to the bottom with mod podge.  NOTE: only apply the mod podge to the bottom of the plate.  I’m pretty sure you don’t want to eat from a mod podged plate since it probably has chemicals you may not want to ingest but maybe I’m wrong?!?!

Picnic themed invitation

Next, create a cute little apron card. I downloaded this one from the Silhouette store. Isn’t the grill set cute?

This can be an invitation to the picnic, a menu (on the inside) or just a cute piece of decor in addition to whatever else you have planned.

Ready for the picnic

So there you have it… a fun DIY Indoor Picnic that’s as cute as can be.  Just add your favorite food & beverage and dine in style.

Hi everyone.  Heather Leopard is here today to discuss my favorite topic – 4th of July DIY Party Decor.  Whether your planning a mini celebration or large scale with all your family and friends, these ideas are sure to create a SPARK!

Red, white and blue Patriotic celebration themed party decor by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc patterned papers. #madewithpebbles #heatherleopard #patriotic #4thofjuly #4thofjulyparty #patrioticparty

The theme for this particular party is red, white and blue for Independence Day here in the USA but all you have to do with swap out colors and patterns and you have a recipe for success.

4th of July DIY Party Decor

Today’s party details include a fun backdrop, table decor and oh so fun firecracker cupcakes because it’s not a party without a “poppin” dessert!

4th of July Banner

It’s always fun to create a fun backdrop, whether it’s for your tablescape or a photo booth.  Here’s just one idea and what you’ll need:

  • patterned paper
  • burlap
  • “USA” alphas – Thickers or die cut

Red, white and blue Patriotic celebration themed party decor by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc patterned papers. #madewithpebbles #heatherleopard #patriotic #4thofjuly #4thofjulyparty #patrioticparty

To create this banner, cut two 2-inch red circles and five 2-inch blue circles, two 1.5-inch blue starbursts, five 1.5-inch red starbursts, seven 1-inch stars. Those will make up the “dividers” for the banners.  Adhere them together as shown above.

Red, white and blue Patriotic celebration themed party decor by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc patterned papers. #madewithpebbles #heatherleopard #patriotic #4thofjuly #4thofjulyparty #patrioticparty

For the USA, cut three 3-inch red circles and three 2.5-inch blue starbursts. Adhere the blue starburst over the red and add “USA” alphas.  Using your sewing machine, stitch the banner together  as you would garland, backing the “USA” bits with burlap triangles.

Firecracker Cupcakes

Red, white and blue Patriotic celebration themed party decor by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc patterned papers. #madewithpebbles #heatherleopard #patriotic #4thofjuly #4thofjulyparty #patrioticparty

While you’re baking up your favorite cupcakes, let’s talk about how to make them POP! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • white icing
  • red, white, blue sprinkles
  • medium sized marshmallows
  • red candy melts
  • twizzlers or candles
  • patterned paper

First, determine how many cupcakes you’ll have. Set aside one medium sized marshmallow for each cupcake. Also cut your twizzlers down to 3-inches and set aside.  Dip each marshmallow in the red melted candy and immediately stick the twizzler in the top before the candy melt dries. Add white icing and sprinkles to your cupcakes. Add the red marshmallow firecracker to the top.

Create festive wrappers for your cupcakes.  These just make it a bit more fun and decorative because they match the decor perfectly but you can also purchase fun wrappers.

Red, white and blue Patriotic celebration themed party decor by @heatherleopard using @PebblesInc patterned papers. #madewithpebbles #heatherleopard #patriotic #4thofjuly #4thofjulyparty #patrioticparty

You may consider adding additional decor.  I added burlap and bows to the floral decor and cupcake stand and then I brought in additional elements, like wooden stars, United States cut-out, etc. to tie it all together!

Quick Summer Gift

Hey there Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here to share with you a quick summer gift that I created using the Sunshiny Days collection. Summer has finally arrived in my neck of the woods. The kids are out of school and we’re ready to take it easy. During the Summer, I like to have a few gifts on hand to take to parties, bbq’s and reunions. I created this quick summer gift within just a few minutes! The Sunshiny Day’s collection made this project SO easy! All you’ll need is some patterned paper and a few stickers. Quick Summer Gift by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #summergift #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #beckiadamsBefore I cut the patterned paper for this tag, I actually put the stickers in place. By placing the stickers in place first, I was able to trim around them without wasting any patterned paper. I chose “Have a cool Summer” for the sentiment on this tag. For this first project, I tied the tag onto a bottle of raspberry lemonade. You could also use the same sentiment for a box of popsicle, ice cream, or another cold beverage. Because this tag is on a gift, I made sure to add extra adhesive to each sticker so they will all stay in place until the gift is given. I wanted to give the tag a little bit of shimmer so I sprinkled some teal shimmery ink on top of the tag. Quick Summer Gift by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #summergift #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #beckiadamsI punched a hole in the upper left corner of the tag and tied the tag onto the bottle of lemonade. It’s that easy! Next time you need a quick summer gift, just create a quick tag and tie it onto a “cool” gift. Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog, I’ll see you again soon!!
