DIY Home Collection: Quick Gift

Hi Pebbles friends! It’s Wendy Sue here again, sharing another quick & easy gift project. Today’s project features the new DIY Home collection, which is absolutely beautiful! I wanted to make a stacked trio of boxes for some smaller sized gifts. Here’s a peek:

Quick and Easy Gift Box Trio by @wendysuea with the "DIY Home" Collection from @Pebblesinc.After I show you how to make this project you are never going to buy a little gift box again – because these boxes are so easy and so fast and so super cute, nothing else will compare! Not to mention the value…with one tool, you can make pretty much any size (smallish) box you want (up to a 4x4x4), and it will be as cute as the cutest paper you can find! Okay, so let me introduce you to my little friend:

Meet the Gift Box Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers! Simply follow the instructions (with easy measurements) that are printed right on the front of the board to create any size box you like. Below you can see the largest and smallest boxes in my trio – after being punched and scored, but not assembled.

The top of each box has little tabs to fold together in order to secure the box closed. BUT, if your recipient is prone to peeking, you can use this new cordless “sticky thumb” glue gun to glue the top shut!

In addition to fun patterns on the boxes, I wanted to embellish them a little bit. I chose a 3×4 card from collection for the largest box and a sticker for the smallest box.

I used the “sticky thumb” sticky dots to attach the card and sticker because I love the teensy bit of dimension they allow:

It will be so fun to fill up these boxes to give to someone special! And they will never know how quick and easy the boxes were to create!

Customize boxes to fit a person, a party theme, or so much more…but if it’s simply classy and beautiful you’re looking for, try the DIY Home collection first! 🙂

4th of July Banner

Hello everyone, I’m Eva Pizarro and today I have a quick banner decoration using the We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board. This punch board is very easy to use, and you can make three shapes in lots of different sizes! Truly a must-have if you always want to do home decor projects or host beautiful parties.

Start by trimming your paper to 8.5 inches wide and use your punch board to make triangles. I used the Americana collection from Pebbles because it is perfect for this holiday.

If you cut rectangles, you can use the other end of the punch board to make banners.

Use the incorporated punch hole on all your shapes.

Now you can use twine or string to hang your banner. This is how mine turned out:

If you want, you can leave it just like that or decorate your banners. And if you thought your punch board could only be used to make banners, you were wrong! I used my Banner Punch Board to cut small triangles and make little stars.

I used five triangles, a white die cut made with the Home+Made Dies and a gold letter to make my embellishments.

Now all you have to do is attach them to your banner with foam dots.

Your 4th of July banner is complete and you can hang it anywhere: on your mantle, your door or outside to brighten up your holiday lunches.

Summer Cutlery Holder

Hello Pebbles’ fans, I’m Eva Pizarro and today I want to show you an easy way to add some color and summer feel to your barbecue or buffet table.

I love to entertain and for me a great meal is accompanied by great table decorations. They need to be beautiful but also practical. This cutlery holder combines the two fabulously. You can put it on your buffet table and your guests can take everything they need to have a great meal!

Here’s what you need:

  • papers and embellishments from the Fun in the Collection
  • an empty can
  • paper napkins
  • paper straws
  • cutlery

Cutlery Holder made by @evapizarrov with the #FunInTheSun collection by @pebblesinc

Start by wrapping your can with your patterned paper.

Glue some chips from the Fun in The Sun collection to your paper straws. Because they are made of paper, you can use your glue gun to adhere them to the can. Using hot glue will make it so the embellishments will not detach with heat or sunshine.

Next, you’ll wrap your cutlery and straw with the paper napkins and add a little piece of paper in the middle to keep everything together.

After that, you get to embellish your can! I used some dies and chips from the Fun In The Sun line. I love those striped alphas – they add so much color to your projects!

And here’s your finished project! Now all you have to do is put it on the table and let your guests enjoy!

Memorial Day Window Treat Bags

Memorial Day Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #Americana collection from @Pebbles @SnippetsByMendi

Hello there!  It’s Mendi here today with some special Memorial Day themed gifts!  These sweet treat bags would be perfect to thank someone who has served in the military or just a great addition to a Memorial Day weekend BBQ!  To create these I turned to one of my favorite Pebbles collections from the past year: Americana!

Memorial Day Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #Americana collection from @Pebbles @SnippetsByMendi

As a way to dress up my bags I cut out a fun handled topper from patterned paper using a Silhouette Cutting file and created a clear window in my bags to show some patriotic cookies.

Now I must confess…  I was really trying to make THESE beautiful cookies on Pinterest to show through my little window, but my talents are obviously not in the kitchen.  Somehow my white dough got lost in the middle and I ended up settling for more of a marbled look.

To create the window in my glassine bags I centered a scalloped circle die from the Homemade collection approximately one inch from the bottom edge and secured it with washi tape to keep it from shifting while running it through my die-cutting machine.

I then slid a slightly smaller clear plastic party bag down the center to hold my cookie.  It was super easy and yet I think the window adds a special detail to the project!

Here’s one last look at the completed treat bags.  I tried to keep them simple to make them easy to mass produce for a party.  I think these would also make great take home treats for a child’s birthday!

Valentine’s Day Treats for Kids

Children's Classroom Valentine's Day Cards & Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #WeGoTogether collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

Hello there!  It’s Mendi here today popping in with some sweet little Valentine’s Treats perfect for your child to exchange with classmates.  As soon as I saw the sheet of 12 little Valentines I knew I wanted to find a fun project to use them on!  I was looking for a project that would be easy to mass produce for a class of 24 children and could include some candy.  What’s Valentine’s day without candy, right?

Children's Classroom Valentine's Day Cards & Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #WeGoTogether collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

I decide on these sweet little sleeves filled with Sweethearts candy.  Best of all I was able to get a 2 lb. bag making this a really affordable project to hand out.  🙂

Children's Classroom Valentine's Day Cards & Treats by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #WeGoTogether collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

Step 1:  To create these, start by cutting your 12×12 paper into 4-inch strips. (you can get 3 treat bags from each piece of paper so including the sheets of cutout, I used 10 sheets of paper to make 24 valentines).

Step 2:  Score your paper at 5″, 5.5″, 6″ and 11″.  This will form the accordion fold at the bottom of your treat bag and the flap at the top.  If you have a print that has a definite top and bottom, make sure to have the top of the print face the zero score line so that the patterned paper design will be upright when folded.

Step 3:  Fold the treat sleeve along the score lines and add the 3×4 inch valentine to the front.

Step 4:  Adhere a line of scor-tape just below the fold line of the top flap.    Fill a small 4×6 clear bag with candies and fold over bag and adhere to tape.  I calculated the 2 lb. bag gives each kid 25 to 30 candies for a 24-student classroom.

Step 5:  Using a ruler, find the center of the bag and punch two holes in the top flap, punching through all the layers.

Step 6:  String the holes with twine and tie a bow.  A little trick I figured out to make the process quicker was to thread a fat needle with a long piece of twine so that I could easily thread the holes without my twine unraveling.  This allowed me to tie 4 or 5 bows quickly before repeating the process.

There you have it!  Easy and really fun to make!  I decided to finish off mine by adding a little die-cut border to my flap for an extra detail, but they are cute either way.
