Chasing Adventures Travel Journal

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. Is anyone planning a Spring Break vacation in April? Take a look at my Chasing Adventures travel journal. It is perfect to take along on your trip to record your memories and store mementos, maps, postcards, photos and more.

The journal is crafted from a kraft cardstock and then decorated with the fun Chasing Adventures pattern papers. I glued two pieces of kraft cardstock together to make the folio stronger. To give it a vintage feel, I burnished the edges with some distress ink. An elastic band secures the binder shut. Let me show you the inside …

The front cover has a side pocket to tuck stickers and die cuts that can be used to decorate journal pages while traveling.

There are 3 pages inside. Each side of a page has a gusseted pocket to hold travel momentos, maps, postcards, and more.

Here are the other inside pages…

In the back of the journal I have added a notepad, covered with pretty pattern paper. Here you can journal about your daily adventures and add photos.

If you have an upcoming vacation, you might want to make a travel journal for yourself. Be sure to check out the Chasing Adventures collection to help you document your trip. I love that it has pattern papers and die cuts for whatever kind of adventure you desire from city vacations to mountain hiking to tropical relaxation.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

~Marcia

Craft Space Tour | Step Right In

Hi everyone.  Heather Leopard is here to share a view of my scrap space, so step right in for a craft room tour…

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

Welcome to my creative space.  The part of my house that I use for my craft room is right off the front entry and used to be our dining room. Since we have a large space in our kitchen for family dinners, we decided to transform the dining room into an office a.k.a. my craft room.

The previous room had a beautiful butter color with faux finish but it really made the room dark so my first goal was to change that. I decided on white and don’t ask me which color because I tried sooo many. I finally found one that blended in great with the desk so I went with that.  The reason I chose to paint my walls white is because I wanted to have a bright, blank canvas that my desk would blend in with.  I also wanted to be able to add pops of color to it, primarily teal and bright pink.  The floors in the room are quite dark so I added a fun geometric print black and white rug to the floor. I even color coordinated one of our rescue dogs, Spot. Can you spot Spot?

When my husband and I designed this room, I knew I wanted to set up my scrap space as close to the natural light as possible.  I also wanted to have room to set up a few tables in the center of the room when I have friends over so we can work together. With that design choice in mind, we decided to create one VERY long desk that spans 2 and a half walls within the perimeter of the room. That means when I’m crafting, I usually have my back to the door but I really love being able to see out the windows and like I said, when I have friends over, I pull out tables so we can face each other!

My scrapbooking work space

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

I set up my room to have three distinct areas within the room:

  1. a craft workspace as shown above (don’t mind the lamp shade that’s too small for the lamp)
  2. a sewing section (not shown but just to the right of this photo)
  3. my PC / electronics work space.

Heather Leopard Craft Room Tour Video Setup #craftroom

I added a video set-up to my space this year.  It’s currently on a tri-pod with a long adjustable arm, which can hold an iPhone or my DSLR.  I primarily use my DSLR but the current view here is of the iPhone grip.  I then edit my photos using Premiere Pro and an external mic.  If you’d like more info on this, contact me HERE.

Each side of my craft space has a set of drawers. These hold my adhesives, glitters, inks, stamps, punches, sewing supplies, mists, paints, card bases, the list goes on and on.  Everything has a place but if I have to be honest not everything always goes back in it’s place.  I’m making it a goal this year to pack everything back up when I finish a project.

Pebbles collection storage

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

To the right of my craft drawers under my sewing station is where I keep all my current Pebbles collections. I usually keep my paper trimmer on the top but it’s not currently pictured.

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

This organizer holds the standard plastic bins and easily holds tons of 12″x12″ paper, Thickers, sticker sheets, die cuts and all the embellishments.  I use one per collection so I can easily find what I need. I can even fit a large punch! Look how good it all fits in there.

The gadgets

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

Next is my computer area and to the left of that is the sewing area. You may recall that sewing area was to the right of my scrap space above. Back to this side of the room, next to my work space is my trusty amoire I’ve had for many years ago. It’s one of my favorite things.  The top has shelves that slide out and it holds all my larger tools.

The bottom has room to fit 3 super large plastic bins across and about 6 high.  I store older collections I’m not ready to part with, alterable things, momentos, etc.

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

The top part holds all my main craft tools – my large and small printers, printer accessories, Cameo, Cinch, Big Shot and more.  My hubby built shelves that slide so I can pull things in and out as needed. I’m in the process of adding another shelf to better accommodate a few more items, like the Minc you see sitting on it’s side.

A space for the kids

@HeatherLeopard's Scrapbooking Room Craft Room Tour @PebblesInc #craftroom #scrapbookingroom #organization #scrapspace

Last but not least is the space where my girls create.  They each have a drawer on the left for their supplies and when they are ready to create, they just fold the door down and voila!, they have a table top just for them!  Since it’s black, I don’t have to stress about ink that may not make it on the paper.  Also, the gold and black locker holds my fabrics and vinyl.

So that’s a peek into my scrap space.  I hope you’ve enjoyed my scrapbooking room | craft room tour.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Patio Party and Planner Inspiration!

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Amanda here, and for planning theme week I wanted to share a makeover of my less glamorous, everyday planner! Not the over sized, over decorated planner that sits on my desk for flat lay photo shoots –  but the honest, everyday, no frills, pocket size one that I carry around in my purse! My ‘real life mom’ planner! You know the one, it has scribblings of new phone numbers, a reminder to pick up the dry cleaning, a few coupons and a list of bills to pay!

Yes… the boring, unexciting planner. BUT, that’s all about to change with a quick planner make over!

I am using the gorgeous, bright & happy Patio Party collection for this cute planner inspiration today…

This line is so pretty, and the colors in Patio Party will brighten any dull organizer! And while I want to create a much happier, prettier planner I also want to keep it practical and easy to use –

Here’s how….

My planner make over starts with creating my own custom dividers.

To make these ‘fit’ perfectly, use the original dividers that your organizer came with as a template. Trace the template onto your favourite Patio Party pattern paper and cut out. I also trace the holes so I know exactly where to hole punch my new dividers. As the first divider is the one I’ll always see when I open my planner, I use the striking gold foil specialty paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

*Note: The 6 x 6 papers are single sided, so you’ll need to repeat this process – reverse side up for the template, and adhere both sides together to create the one divider*

The striped, shiny gold pattern is just gorgeous but as this is the front cover divider, it still needs more….

I embellish with a few stickers from the 6 x 12 Accent Stickers sheet. Cute! That sentiment sticker has just the right amount of inspiration too! Now that I’m happy with my first divider, I proceed to make one for every tabbed section in my organizer. This time, I use the double sided 12″ x 12″ pattern papers so I only need to trace each template once. Here’s a look at them all, right side up…..

Aren’t they the sweetest?! I’m already feeling uplifted! Here’s the reverse side….

Pretty florals, and oh my heart, flamingos!!! What a difference a set of dividers can make to your organizer!

And when it comes to being organized, having a bookmark to instantly locate your fave section of your planner is essential!

How sweet is this book mark?! Like the dividers, I use the original as a template to trace around, cut out and hole punch. So simple, and yet such a practical and pretty adornment to  your organizer.

Speaking of practical, how about something cute ‘n’ fun to store all those ugly coupons in?

Oh hello flamingos & hello happy! This planner pocket makes me smile!

There are a number of ways to create pockets, but the simplest one is to trace your divider template, but double the width. In my example my planner is 3 1/2″ x 5″, so I cut out a 3 1/2 ” x 10″ piece of paper. Score down the center, fold and tape the base and sides together.  Be sure to leave the top unsealed so you can insert your bits ‘n’ pieces into the pocket. Looking for something more sturdy? Instead of tape, machine stitch the sides and base.

The next step in ‘dressing up’ my everyday planner was to convert the plain plastic pocket inserts into something a bit more special….

Eeep! Sequin shaker pockets are my favourite!!! So cool! This pocket now doubles as a super pretty divider!

To create this fun (& practical) pocket, you’ll need to insert a piece of pattern paper into the pocket. It needs to be a snug fit to help hold the sequins in place. Add sequins, and then fuse or glue the top of the pocket to the pattern paper. Embellish with another of those gorgeous 6 x 12 Accessory Stickers. You’ll see in the image below that the back of the pocket still opens, and remains suitable for storing small items, receipts, tickets etc. …

Love this! So perfect & so much fun!!!

Time to dress up that dashboard and boring cover!

I start by selecting a few of my favourite Die Cuts, and hot glue a large paperclip to the back of each of them. Here’s a closer look for you….

Oh what a stunning page marker! Planner clips never looked so sweet!

Insert them into your cover, add a few more stickers and voila!

Now that’s more like it! Still lightweight, & practical for my purse, but oh so pretty too!!!

Here’s a look at that shaker pocket in action….

Gorgeous!!!

When it comes to jazzing up your organizer, or updating it with a fresh Spring look, Patio Party is the perfect choice!

I hope you feel inspired to get creative in your planners and organizers with our beautiful products!

Thanks so much for visiting today,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo

Hi everyone.  Heather Leopard is here and for this week’s organization theme, I thought I’d show you what my scrap space looks like.  So come on in for a craft room tour…

Forever My Always Traveler’s Notebook

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Amanda here, & I hope the New 2018 Year is bringing you much joy! If you’re like me, and feeling a lil behind, overwhelmed or just needing to be more organized for the busy year ahead, then today’s post is for you!

I don’t know about you, but I certainly feel more organized and less stressed when I jot things down and make lists. Keeping a Traveler’s Notebook handy in my purse means I can stay focused, and remember all those appointments too! #igotthis

As soon as I laid eyes on our gorgeous Forever My Always collection I just knew I had to use it for my TN journaling! Let’s make the everyday ordinary things special too! Let’s make ALL the pretty things! After all, it’s a beautiful life!

Here’s what I have created to help me conquer 2018!

How CUTE is this Pebbles Traveler’s Notebook?!! If nothing else, my 2018 is going to be pretty!!!

Here’s a sneaky peak inside too…..

Adore this! Being organized never looked so good! And the best part, it only takes a few minutes to create – perfect for this modern, busy world we live in!

Here’s how to make your own TN:

  1. Start with your insert paper. I use a good quality A4 copy paper for my everyday lists. Trim to 8 3/4″wide x 8 1/4 long.
  2. Select pattern paper for cover,  (I use the sweet Love Labels for mine) and place the insert paper over it – as shown below. Ensure the cover is just the tiniest bit bigger to allow for full coverage of the inserts, and trim.

3. Score both the inserts and patterned paper cover, and fold in half. Sew, staple or hand stitch the spine to complete.

I sew mine with my machine on a larger stitch, slow speed.

Here’s a closer look at how neat the stitching is…..

Super sweet! Use this technique to create as many Notebooks as you need!

Now to decorate!

A good page marker is always helpful – create a stunning rosette clip with the Forever My Always Rosette Stickers and a paperclip. Too easy!

For my TN spread, I use the reverse side of the pattern paper barcode strip, Date Night.

Tip: These sample strips at the bottom of 12 x 12 papers make an excellent alternative to washi tape!

A page marker and some faux washi make such a difference! So simple and yet so effective!

Next, I decorate with a couple of the Cardstock 6 x 12 Icons & Accents Stickers. That pencil is just perfection for this planner / notebook! I trim pattern paper, Sprinkled Blossoms to 2″ wide x 2 1/2″long to create some full boxes. A great alternative to planner icon box stickers, and it really defines my TN layout.

I continue to define my TN spread with a few hand drawn boxes, as well as my check list to the left hand side. The typewriter sticker couldn’t be any more adorable, and embellishes my long list. I add Puffy Stickers to my half boxes, serving as bullet points. Looking good!

For finishing touches, I embellish with more cute stickers, and Die Cuts!

And there you  have it! Super quick (and really pretty!)crafting to keep you organized! I hope I have inspired you to make your own Travelers Notebook with our beautiful papers and embellishments!

Thanks so much for visiting,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo
