Hello! Becki here, to share with you a Spring layout I created using an unusual color palette, lots of fussy cutting, and a splash of gold. I always look forward to Spring. I’m always ready for warmer weather. Today I thought I’d use the Cottage Living collection to create a Spring layout. I also wanted to mix up my color palette by adding some black and white. By adding some black and white I stepped away from the traditional pastels of Spring. I chose these four pieces of patterned paper.
Ever since that floral piece of patterned paper landed on my desk I knew I wanted to fussy cut it. So, I grabbed a pair of sharp scissors and got to work.
Fussy cutting the flowers was the most time consuming part of this layout but I sat down with my favorite Netflix flick and cut away. After I was finished with the fussy cutting, I started putting together a few of the elements of my layout. I like to add machine stitching to smaller elements of the page before adding them to my background paper. That way if I mess up I’m not ruining my background paper and I’m not making my sewing machine sew through quite as many layers.
After adding machine stitching I was ready to assemble my layout.
I love how the bold background makes the flowers pop off of the page.
I love the splashes of gold against the pastel patterned papers.
Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog today!
