How are you enjoying our From Me to You collection showcase so far? We’ve loved showcasing the product in so many different capacities. Up today? Design Team Member Kim Jeffress with a fun handmade birthday card.

Handmade Birthday Card {From Me to You}

My son’s best friend Kate recently turned six, so I wanted to make a birthday card that was pretty but also quick.

The colors in the “From Me to You” collection were just perfect – girly and sweet!

I started with a sheet of pattern paper from the cardmaking pad. The papers are pre scored and all I did was fold it in half to create the card base.

In the little pocket on the front my son who is also 6 wrote a sweet little note to her that she can keep in a special place long after the card has been discarded!

There’s nothing sweeter than a handmade birthday card, especially when it’s as pretty and feminine as this “Hello Happy Birthday” design created by Kathy Martin.

Here’s a bit more from Kathy…

While I adore bright colors and eye catching designs and gravitate to them for most of my projects, I like to mix things up sometimes and create something a bit softer. Would you believe this birthday card was made with the vibrantly colored Basics collection? It’s a pretty versatile line!

Handmade Thank You Cards {Pebbles Basics}

Did you stop by and check out our awesome Pebbles Basics blog hop yesterday? Hope so!

We’re going to continue the Basics goodness today with some great handmade cards by Design Team Member Laura Craigie.

It would be an understatement to say I adore the Basics line. I tend to be more of a “B-side” user in general and gravitate to simple patterns, so this line is rather a match made in heaven for me!

I thought I would challenge myself to make a feminine card, and then something a little more on the masculine spectrum to share today.

For my Feminine card I used a repeating sentiment by taking advantage of the fabulous Accent & Phrase stickers, and a sheet from the Journaling card for the first one. Then I made “bullet points” with candy dots to make each one stand out.

For the more masculine card, I once again used a Journaling card for a simple easy sentiment.

I used a circle die to cut through the layers on the front of the card, and added a pretty orange floral paper to the inside of the card for a quick pop of color.

What a fun touch! What sort of unexpected things do you incorporate to change up your projects? We’d love to see some ideas in the comments!

Handmade Back-to-School Teacher Card

We’re wrapping up with our series of fun back-to-school projects with another card for teacher today.

One of our favorite “craft” projects is to take basic papers and turn them into something great! Take the apple on this card for instance, it’s actually made with two circle punches.
Let me show you how…
For this project you will need a 2″ circle punch, a 2″ scallop circle punch and a few sheets of cardstock.
Use your circle punch to cut a circle out of the red cardstock .
Nip the top and bottom of your circle with your circle punch to create an apple shape.
Use the circle punch to take a “bite” out of your apple.
Repeat the process with a piece of white cardstock.
Instead of using the circle punch for your bite, use the scallop punch.
Use the circle punch to create a stem.
Use it again to create the leaf.

Stack all of the pieces together and you have a great apple.
Such a simple way to create a fun embellishment to use when creating school themed cards and pages.

We’ve enjoyed sharing a back-to-basics approach to papercrafting and scrapbooking using our new school-friendly mini collection.
Today, you’ve simply got to check out this super-simple card made for teacher. The bright primary colors just shout cheerful and it would be such a fun edition to any teacher gift.

Back-to-School Teacher Card

I know that most of you could make this card blindfolded, with one hand tied behind your back. Writing out the process can sometimes make projects a bit more easy to complete. So here it is…directions for making a back to school card in five simple steps!
  1. Take a piece of red cardstock cut to 4.25″ x 5.5.” Score and fold in half.
  2. Adhere a piece of white cardstock to the front of the card.
  3. Add five tags across the middle of the white cardstock base.
  4. Punch a piece of blue cardstock and adhere across the top of the flags.
  5. Add a dimensional dot to the back of the regular sticker for added texture, center and tack down.
