We’re continuing our Christmas card week with a fantastic selection of cards from Design Team Member Samantha Taylor.

Handmade Christmas Cards

You don’t have to have Christmas themed papers to spread a little holiday joy. I used Pebbles Basics and Pebbles From Me to You collections to create my mix and match Christmas cards.

Handmade Christmas CardsUsing The Knock Out border punch from American Crafts I was able to turn strips of Leaf paper from the Basics Collection into  a Christmas tree.

Handmade Christmas CardsWhile bits of From Me to You made perfect little gifts for under the tree.

Handmade Christmas CardsFor this card I layered up die cut snowflakes in the shape of a wreath.

Handmade Thank You Cards

Few things express gratitude as wonderful as a handmade thank you card. Today Design Team Member Candace Zentner is sharing two beautiful cards.

One type of card I can never have enough of in my stash are Thank You cards. It always feels so great to let someone know they are appreciated. Today, I have two Thank You cards to share with you using the From Me To You collection.

I am so in love with the Library Cards in this collection so I used one as the starting point for the design of my card. I added a few little gold heart rub-ons to my envelope for a fun extra detail.

I haven’t used rub-ons for a really long time so I knew I wanted to use a rub-on sentiment on my second card. I remember rub-ons being tricky to get transferred on smoothly but these went on so perfectly! I can’t wait to use them on more projects!

To create the banner for my sentiment, I used plain white cardstock and a banner die from Jaded Blossom then chalked the edges using some yellow chalk from the Basic Brights Pebbles Chalk set.

The From Me to You Collection has a bright and fun color combination with so many great sentiments that are perfect for Thank You cards.

Supplies:
FROM ME TOYOU Phrase and Accent Cardstock Stickers
FROM ME TO YOU Label Cardstock Stickers
FROM ME TO YOU Gold Rub-On
FROM ME TO YOU Library Pockets
FROM ME TO YOU Photo Frame Hang Tags
FROM ME TO YOU Patterned Paper – Postage

Handmade Halloween Cards {Thirty One}

Last week, we kicked off the busiest card making season of the year. Now we know that most card makers are busy working on Christmas, but we had to slip in these fun handmade Halloween cards, created by Design Team Member Wendy Antenucci, featuring our Thirty-One collection.

Handmade Halloween Card – Just Because

I love glitter!  I saw a card in Hallmark that had glitter edges and I thought it was amazing so I decided to create my own glittery card!

I began by layering my papers on my card and then I tucked some double sided tape under the top layer. I sprinkled on a generous amount of glitter and pressed it on to make sure it was secured well. I have never tried the American Crafts double sided tape until this point, but I was very impressed – the liner comes right off of the tape when your ready, the coverage with the glitter is wonderful and none of the glitter is falling off which is VERY impressive!

I then began layering my other items to further dress up my card – a piece of a doily, with an overlay peeking out, a label sticker popped up using foam adhesive and flowers fussy cut tucked behind. A cute little pumpkin and a gorgeous gold rub on (I really like gold too) completed my card.

Supplies:
Thirty-One 6×6 Paper Pad (732339)
Thirty-One Mystical (732293)
Thirty-One Phrase & accent stickers (732304)
Thirty-One Photo Overlays (732307)
From Me to You Rub-ons (732273)
This to That double sided tape

BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE!

Handmade Halloween Cards – Pumpkin Card

After such an elegant card as my Just Because card I was looking for something fun; as I was digging through my card supplies I found this scalloped card base, it was the perfect size for a pumpkin card!  I traced the pattern onto my paper, cut it out, and adhered it to the card base. A few black triangles gave my eyes and nose, and some creative cutting made my mouth.

I wanted my pumpkin to look like it was picked right from the patch, so I used my green twine to form the vines. I gathered a few pieces which I tied my bow with and then twirling them as I glued them down to give them a more realistic look. A cute little Hello tag and clothes pin was the finishing touches.

Supplies:
Thirty-One 6×6 Paper Pad (732339)
Basics 12×12 Paper Pad (751433)
Twine (89423)
Lakeside Printed Tags (732235)
From Me to You Clothes Pins (732279)
Stop on by Wendy’s blog for even more project using the Thirty-one collection!

Thank you so much for celebrating World Card Making Week with us. We hope you were inspired and that you enjoyed playing along.

We’re excited to be celebrating another edition of Saturday Share. We can’t wait to see your fun photo pocket style page scrapbooking.

Since we’ve been talking so much about handmade cards, we thought we’d share a little bit on saving and storing all of the cards you’re likely collecting.

If you’re like most people who save precious cards, you’ve probably got them tucked away in a box. These memories deserve a more prominent spot and should be featured along with other memories.

The great news is that you can easily incorporate the cards into your photo pocket page scrapbooking without chopping them up, bending them or otherwise damaging them, by simply placing them in a Project Life envelope.

Giveaway

We want you to be able to save your cards safely, so we’re giving away a set of Project Life envelopes – one of each size.

To enter, please follow the directions in the Rafflecopter widget below.
