Gift Boxes With Hey, Hello

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. With most people around the world right now sheltering in place to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, no birthday parties or wedding receptions or baby showers or celebrations of any kind involving groups of people are happening. I want to make sure some special people in my life still feel loved even if we cannot be together for special events. My Mother-in-law just turned 80 and I couldn’t even give her a hug! I decided to make some little gift boxes to deliver to some special people with some goodies inside. I used two coordinating sheets of 12×12 of pattern papers from the beautiful Hey, Hello collection and decorated my boxes with tags that can be cut from pattern paper. Boxes are easy to make. I used a cut file from SVGcuts , but they can also be made without using a cutting machine.

The Hey, Hello collection is perfect for special occasions of all kinds, like birthdays.

There is plenty of room inside for cupcakes, donuts, or cookies.

Layer up a couple tags and a ribbon on the top to make your box so festive looking.

This next gift box could be used for a birthday as well, but I’m giving it to a girl who will be graduating from high school. Commencements have been canceled. I can put candy, gift cards, or cash inside.

I added a tag cut from pattern paper to the top along with a die cut phrase ephemera piece and some ribbon.

But don’t think this collection is just for kids… This beautiful floral box went to my Mother-in-law. It would be perfect for Mother’s Day too. There are lots of other beautiful floral papers that would make lovely gift boxes.

I put her favorite chocolates inside. Once again I adorned my box with ribbon, a tag, die cut ephemera, and cut paper leaves.

Do you have anyone special you can’t be with right now? Why not create a special gift box for them. You don’t need a special occasion to tell someone your thinking of them.

Birthday Pinwheels

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a fun new project to share using the Happy Cake Day collection. Both my kids have winter birthdays so I decided to make a cute little centerpiece.

I made 3 simple pinwheels using papers from the 6×8 pad and glued them to paper straws. I added a puffy sticker to each center.

I then added a few tags and pennants to make it a little more fun.

I finished it off by adding it to a small glass bottle with some string and little tags. It turned out so cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick and Easy Party Decorations

Are you ready to party?!? It’s Wendy Sue here today, and I sure am ready for a party – but one thing I love almost as much as the party is the planning and decorating. If that’s not your thing, you don’t need to spend a lot of time putting together fun and festive decorations. Here are a few fun ideas you could use for a birthday party – or really you could use them for any celebration just by changing the words!

Banners don’t have to be labor-intensive. Use your digital die-cut machine (or use scissors to cut by hand) to cut large block letters. Punch holes in the top and string them all together with crochet thread. Easy peasy and so festive!

If you want to go a step further, die-cut, punch or hand-cut shapes (such as stars) to create a fun garland. Use a sewing machine set on a straight stitch to sew them all together and drape them around.

Use extras as confetti!

And one final idea is to create 3-d decor. I made these star shaped boxes, thinking they could be used as party favors OR just as decorations! So versatile and easy!

Hello Friends – and Happy Spring! Well…we had a few days with sunshine and temperatures above freezing, so it feels like spring to me! I realized recently that my birthday card stash is in need of some pretty girly cards, and I am absolutely loving the spring vibe in the new “Hey, Hello” collection. You know what that means, right?

Don’t these cards just shout Spring?!? The colors are soft and airy – and seriously, the most gorgeous flower colors! And bumblebees are always a sure sign of Spring! Let me share some closer looks:

I couldn’t resist using a bit of the black dotted washi on this card – It’s just the right amount of dark color to tie everything together!

Speaking of “tying everything together,” I tied pretty white bows on all of these cards – it’s such a soft touch that adds a bit of interest and texture – not to mention femininity on these floral cards! I actually cut this diagonal stripe washi in half – I wanted thinner strips and it was easy to cut it to fit my needs!

Did you notice how the flowers and bees are popping off the card? They are actually stickers, but I used powder to remove the stickiness, then added foam adhesive squares for dimension! I love layering pop dots double and triple thick to enhance the effect! And, oh, how I wish you could see the shimmer of this gold washi tape!

I doubled up on the sentiment tags for each card as well – double wishes are TWICE as nice! Black and white floral washi is another fun way to make the other colors pop while adding a bit of interest!

Get yourself in a springy mood by whipping up some fun floral cards like these – it’s definitely a fun way to add to your stash AND brighten your own day while your at it! Happy Spring!

Hey, Hello Cards

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia back today. I’ve been playing with the beautiful new Hey, Hello collection from Jen Hadfield. This collection is a cardmakers dream! So many elements that can be layered to make gorgeous cards for any occasion; Birthday, Sympathy, Thank You, Thinking of You, and so much more. The first cards I created were birthday cards. I always need birthday cards. I bet you do too. Check these out…

This little hedgehog is the cutest! He is all ready to celebrate with you!! The Hey, Hello collection has a sheet of 12×12 pattern paper full of tags like this one. They are excellent for cardmaking layered over a couple other pieces of pattern paper.

There is also a sheet of 12×12 pattern paper with 3×4 journal cards perfect for cardmaking as well. This card features an adorable sloth.

Then I made a sympathy and a thank you card using beautiful florals and black pattern paper for striking contrast.

My sympathy card is also made from a 3×4 journal card. I added some florals for dimension, a dainty bow, and a few nuvo drops for interest.

There is another 12×12 sheet of pattern paper with 2×2 squares, giving you another option for layering on cards.

This last one might be my favorite. I tucked in some fussy cut florals and used lots of layers. Another bow and nuvo drops add interest. My tip for cardmaking: Use some foam dots to help separate the layers like I did here.

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you are a cardmaker, this is one collection you NEED!
